About the Artist
Pianist/singer Tom Bopp has been entertaining guests at Yosemite's historic Wawona Hotel since 1983. His repertoire ranges from Celtic folk music to jazz, with a focus on popular music from the first 50 years of the 20th century. Whether he's performing cabaret songs, antique salon music, cowboy ditties, leftovers from long-ago classical piano lessons, Depression-era tunes, or ragtime, spontaneity is the thing Tom likes best. Tom's eclectic tastes are represented on five CDs available on the internet at YosemiteMusic.com. His one-man show, "Vintage Songs of Yosemite," celebrates the first century of the Yosemite Experience in a live piano/vocal and DVD presentation of vintage Yosemite music, stories, art, and photography. Tom can be contacted through his web page at YosemiteMusic.com

Product Description
Album Description: Solo piano. "Meadowloop" is named for a gentle, pastoral buggy-path that circles the Wawona meadow in Yosemite. The music is mostly Irish and Scottish in origin (with a brief foray into some old cowboy songs), recorded on the 1906 Kanabe parlor grand in Yosemite's historic Wawona Hotel.

From the Artist:
John Muir once wrote "In the Sierra I sang and whistled [the songs of Robert Burns] to the squirrels and birds, and they were charmed out of fear and gathered close about me." For me, music of the Celtic spirit is the best accompaniment for Yosemite scenery, and the old piano at the Wawona Hotel, which has been my companion since 1983, is the best instrument on which to interpret that music.
