About the Artist
The Kossoy Sisters, identical twins Irene and Ellen, have been singing traditional songs in their clear bell-like harmonies since the early 1950's. They performed at the first Newport Folk Festival and were part of the music scene in Greenwich Village's Washington Square in New York City. By the age of 20, they had performed widely in New York. Their legendary album "Bowling Green" which includes the song "I'll Fly Away" was recorded by Tradition Records in the mid-50's and has inspired and influenced many singers through the years.
