Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This CD is absolutely amazing!.......2004-07-29

I've had the pleasure of working with Sean McGowen at a camp for the past few summers. He's an absolutely amazing person, and his guitar playing is phoenominal. The CD shows his versatility as a guitarist. Some tracks are really funky and upbeat, while others are mellow and sad. He truly paints a picture with his guitar playing. If you get the chance to get this CD, don't pass the opportunity by. I don't think I'll ever get tired of his CD.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Acoustic Guitar Playing!.......2002-03-01

This is a solo jazz guitar piece played entirely on an acoustic steel string guitar. It is an excellect smooth jazz work the tunes of which, would be comfortable on a piano. McGowan sets out to capture the spirit of Thelonius Monk on his guitar and, in my opinion at least, he has successfully accomplished that goal. My personal favorites include McGowan's cover of Miles Davis' "All Blues" and the original and funky "East 7th Street". Extremely relaxing and pleasant. If you are in the market for an up and coming new Jazz guitarist, give McGowan a spin.
