Same package available on the Chrome Dreams label. One CD is a boring reading of an encyclopedia version of Woody's life. The other CD is 52 of Woody's cuts in bad sound. A better intro to his life is Tribute to Woody Guthrie on Warner Brothers, at a good price at Amazon. Professional actors and top folk singers mix readings and songs to make the story come alive.

Every Folk musician needs to have this CD BOX SET! If you can find this set for sale, new or used, grab it! This rare import set is something I am glad that I bought! I will never let anyone touch it. It's that special to me. So long it's been good to know ya, so long it's been good to know ya and this dusty old dust is get'n my home and I got to be ramblin along!

Who ever gave this CD set 1 star does not know what he is talking about! I bought this set brand new for a price Woody would have called it a steal! These 4 CD's seem to never leave my player since I opened the box! A great biography on two CD's alone and if that isn't enough, let's throw two more CD's in the set with 52 original Woody Guthrie Ash recordings! The sound is incredible, compared to the Ash set in which I also own. If I had to choose between CD set's I would pick this set for the price!
