Fans of the genre called deep house owe much to pioneers like Jay Denes, whose Beautiful Tomorrow (2002), recorded under the moniker Blue Six, introduced many to a silky and impeccably produced cocktail of jazz-house soundscapes. For fanciers of Tomorrow, Aquarian Angel--which is chock full of the vocal stylings of house sirens Lisa Shaw and LT (Aya)--does not disappoint. On the captivating "Here I Come," Shaw's smoky voice chants "this day's done, build another in its place" over a chilled organ line, and LT's singing makes the title track a spot-on lullaby for the urban set. Like Tomorrow, Angel is house made more for the lounge or beach than the floor, as the lush harmonies of "Half Life" and the Brazilian-inflected "I've Given Enough," whose throaty sax line that would make Chet Baker smile, attest. And while some may find Angel's atmospherics a bit saccharine, Denes's crystalline mixing is truly astounding. There is also a sincerity and dimension to the music that sets Angel apart from the genre's more formulaic productions and lures the listener back to tracks that don't immediately make sense. After all, they call it "deep" house for a reason. --Brent Kallmer
Album Description
Blue Six, the production alias of Jay Denes, New York-based musician and co-founder of the highly-regarded Naked Music label, will release his eagerly-anticipated second full-length album, Aquarian Angel on March 13, 2007. By blending underground sensibilities with soulful grooves and lyrical seductiveness, Aquarian Angel continues to do what Blue Six and Naked Music are known for - taking dance music to the next level with mature albums that are synonymous with soulful, stylish sophistication.
Originally a production company, Naked Music was formed in 1998 by Jay Denes and his partner, fellow musician Dave Boonshoft. As the signature artist who captured the essence of the label, Blue Six quickly proceeded to capture the attention of the music scene with their underground dance classics "Sweeter Love" and "Music & Wine" rapidly becoming the ubiquitous soundtrack for scores of clubs, restaurants and bars, from New York to London to Paris.
Aquarian Angel is the follow up to Blue Six's full-length Naked Music debut, Beautiful Tomorrow (2004), which was a dazzling collection of tracks that combined dance grooves and R&B vocals with darkly intelligent lyrics. Aquarian Angel takes all the elements that made Beautiful Tomorrow so well loved and evolves into adult dance grooves and R&B-styled vocals that are cross-fertilized with Brazilian beats, ambient backdrops, and elements of jazz. Additionally, the upcoming CD reunites Jay with the three unique voices that helped make Beautiful Tomorrow such a classic: The triumvirate of label mates, Aya, Lisa Shaw and Catherine Russell return to lend their very different vocals styles, three distinct voices that, over the course of the album, combine to create that instantly recognizable Blue Six sound.
Denes spent the time between Beautiful Tomorrow and Aquarian Angel producing solo albums for both Aya and Lisa Shaw. Aya's "Strange Flower" and Lisa's "Cherry" garnered rave reviews and continue to get consistent radio-play worldwide. After these two intense collaborations, he was ready to compose the Aquarian song-cycle, writing each piece with a specific vocalist in mind. Musically, he has concocted a hybrid that combines his own expert manipulation of state-of-the-art computer technology with the warmth and unpredictability of live musicianship. As a result, Aquarian Angel breathes with a life of its own as it caresses your body and plays with your mind. "Tropicalia", a lush Afro-Brazilian track that features Lisa Shaw, is the first single off the album. Its infectious percussion-driven rhythms will entice DJ's of all stripes.
"On Aquarian Angel I threw all my musical preconceptions out the window," says Denes. "My only intention was to communicate my thoughts and feelings as they presented themselves to me. I think the end result is more varied and broader in scope than my previous work and will ultimately be as meaningful to my listeners as it has been to me."

A NAKED DELIGHT.......2007-07-31
THE NAKED MUSIC CREW HAS PUT ANOTHER LATE NITE CLASSIC, THIS ONE IS JUST AS GOOD AS THEIR FIRST ALBUM, I PLAY THIS ONE WHILE CRUISING IN THE RIDE AT NITE, AND WHEN I HAVE COMPANY OVER .LOVE HOW THEY FUSE HOUSE ,SOUL AND TROPICAL ELEMENTS INTO THEIR SOUND.OVERALL GOOD CD ,
Aquarian Angel.......2007-07-10
This cd has the "Blue Six" sound. It is extremely mellow and heavenly... If you like the first cd, you may like this one as well. More of an easy listening, chillout flow, extremely mellow - some songs have an angelic flow...
this music is sublime.......2007-06-23
as with other reviewers, i was skeptical that this release would live up to its illustrious predecessor. not only is it as good as the first blue six release, it is even even more sublime. jay denes (and miguesl migs) practically invented this genre of chilled out deep house grooves and jay totally delivers on this fantastic follow up. i would say that these are some of the best performances from lisa shaw and aya to date. the productions values are outstanding. listening to this cd makes me want to travel to a far away island and sip rum drinks on a tropical beach with someone very special while watching the sun slip into the deep blue (six)...
WOW!!! Another great work from Blue Six...KUDOS NAKED MUSIC!!!.......2007-06-09
The first 30 seconds I was hooked on the ambient, more mellow sophomore "gem" from Blue Six. This album is absolutely incredible musically and vocally. It is alot different from "A Beautiful Tomorrow". The bossa nova feel of the album is a nice touch. I love Lisa Shaw's voice. My favorite vocalist on the Naked Music label. Now do not get me wrong, Aya and Catherine Russell are great, and incredible vocalist as well. Tropicallia sets the stage for the album. There is not song I do not like. Some other standouts for me are "Half Light", "I have Given Enough", "A Women of the World", "Here I Come" and "Fast Free Delivery." NOTHING I have ever purchased from the Naked Music Inc and family has been a disappointment. Jay Denes continue enriching us with your sound and creativity in this often tragic age of soulless music. Always a supporter.
More mature, but still great........2007-05-24
When I first listened to Aquarian Angel, I was trying to compare it to A Beautiful Tomorrow, but there is not much to compare. In fact you may be disappointed if that is what you are looking for. However, this album still probides a mellow, lounge-type selection of great music. You can definitely drown your mind into this album and get away to a place you want to go anytime and anyplace with this album. If you like the laid back drums and easy voices of lisa shaw, catherine russell, and aya; you will appreciate Aquarian Angel.

Re-recorded, remixed, overdubbed and repackaged--all before its 1970 American release, mind you--Let It Be has long been the most second-guessed album in the Beatles otherwise sterling catalog. This curious, three-decade-late, stripped-down rethink offers up yet another spin on what started as a back-to-the-roots album/documentary project called Get Back in January, 1969, but ended up as the band's de facto swan song 18 months later. Paul McCartney in particular has long been irked by producer Phil Spector's grandiose orchestra and choir overdubs to the title track and "The Long and Winding Road," and indeed the "bare" versions here have a distinct, plaintive charm lacking in Spector's typical pomp. All the various snippets of studio and live chatter that seasoned the original have been removed, leaving the recordings to be judged on their essentially live-in-the-studio merits. If the intent was to "de-Spectorize" the album, the inclusion of John Lennon's 1968 benefit track "Across the Universe" and George Harrison's "I Me Mine" (which marked the last-ever Beatles session in January, 1970) in their original versions seems equally odd, the legendary producer having appended them to the album's original track listing in the first place. The rambling "bonus disc" of conversation and song snippets culled from hundreds of hours of session and film tapes may fascinate diehard fans, but it also underscores the murky, often unfocused state of affairs the Fabs found themselves in during the last year of their remarkable career. --Jerry McCulley
Customer Reviews:
Paul,it's too late...........2007-07-29
First, kudos to Paul McCartney for enter HIS entry in the "Let It Be"/"Get Back" album "contest".Granted,it's Spector-less,sonic wise it's as clean as it can be and the new order is okay.True,it IS the better album,BUT...it's been over thirty years.A clean version of "IMM" and "TLAWR" came out on "Anthology 3" in 1996 and a clean version of "ATU" came out earlier that year on "Anthology 2".
What I'm trying to say is despite the fact that "LIBN" is the better sounding album, people are used to the original...and I don't think most people are willing to part with it.
Let It Be...Naked is a Great Studio Album.......2007-07-27
Let It Be...Naked is a great Beatles studio album. Every track on this CD is great.
I love The Beatles' music and I'm sure I always will but I never bought or wanted to buy the original Let It Be because I thought I'd wait until I had their better albums first. I already had a lot of the songs on other Beatles CD's like the 1967-70 Blue Album and Past Masters Vol. 2. The versions of these songs from Let It Be were either overproduced with the distracting girl singers and unnecessary layers of strings or they were the cold winter rooftop concert versions which is not the ideal environment to record an album in.
What is great about Let It Be...Naked is that the producers and engineers were given permission to do their jobs. They cleaned up, edited, and EQ'd the original recordings with the tools available in professional recording studios today. The result is what everyone expects today when a high budget major label studio album comes out. The engineers did a great job taking windy, noisy live tracks from the rooftop concert and cleaning them up to make them sound like they were recorded in the studio. The mix is great. You can really hear all 4 Beatles and Billy Preston clearly. The sound is crisp and punchy, the arrangements are flawless, the mistakes are fixed and the in between banter is edited out, just like every other Beatles album. I believe if The Beatles continued their routine of going into the studio with George Martin to record Let It Be it would have come out more similar to this CD than the original release.
Some people prefer bootlegs and demo tapes to professionally produced music and other people get attached to the original versions of songs. If you are one of those people you'd probably prefer the original release. Although I love to watch the rooftop concert footage which is available on The Beatles Anthology DVD's and hopefully will be available one day in it's complete form, when I listen to a Beatles CD, I want to hear the best possible produced studio recordings. Let It Be...Naked does that for these batch of songs.
Stellar Sound.......2007-07-26
Many other reviews discuss the "Spectorisation" of three tracks, which is the most glaring difference between the original and this "naked" production. Personally, I like the orchestral versions better overall (sorry Paul).
However, for those who appreciate clear, crisp sound, this remixed CD wins hands-down. I'm a former audio engineer, and am very impressed. The stereo aspect is also superior. The energy seems better, too.
I just wish I could get the "Spectorised" cuts with this much clarity.
Forget the Original and Buy this one........2007-07-02
A lot of people don't want history messed with, but I, for one am glad that this has come out. I bought the original album in the 70's and as a Beatles fan was very disappointed. It just didn't sound like them to me. I replaced all my Beatles albums on CD when the time came--except for this one. You know from other reviewers the tale of this album's creation, but let me say that this is probably the closest we will get to hearing these songs as they might have sounded if The Beatles had stayed together long enough to actually finish this project. This sounds, to my ears, much more like the Beatles. The greatly improved sound quality is reason enough to buy this cd. I don't miss "Maggie Mae" or "Dig it" which were nothing but useless filler. All the banter being gone, makes it a much more polished album. Including "Don't let Me Down" makes perfect sense, since it is in the film, backs the "Get Back" single and strengthens the collection of songs. I can't imagine why it wasn't there in the first place.
A minor complaint would be that it would have been nice to have a few bonus songs such as "The Ballad of John and Yoko", "Old Brown Shoe", "You Know My Name, Look Up the Number" and the single version of "Get Back." The first two, though not part of the "Let it Be" project, were comtemporaneous with the other songs and have the same sound. The Latter two were from singles related to the album. It would have also been more in keeping with the traditionally generous song selection on other Beatle albums, and these songs have never properly been put on an album(and this would be the one). Only eleven songs seems a bit stingy. The inclusion of these songs would have made this a killer album at the time, on par with their other albums, instead of the sad affair it was. I also dislike the flippant title and art work. In hindsight (always 20/20) it would have been much better to do a deluxe release of the original "Let it Be" that included these recordings. A double CD that probably would have made everyone ecstatic, since they would have what they want and could make the comparison. The Fly on the Wall bonus seems pointless and could have probably been much more substantial. Oh well.
In summary, greatly improved over the original in terms of songs and sound quality, but could use a few more songs for the money. Get this one and forget the original. If you have a need for the Spectorized versions for completeness or sentimentality, you can find them on "One" or other repackagings.
Good but Maybe Not Essential - For Completists .......2007-06-15
As David Goodwin says in his review here, there isn't much different about this album from what most people know about Let It Be - I certainly didn't feel or notice anything dramatically different except a cleaner sound. Artistically, this was not the Beatles' most outstanding album, but neither is it unlistenable. It's hard to pinpoint why this album - which is certainly above average in every respect became relegated in the Beatles pantheon. (NOTE: I give this three stars, but that's based on Beatles standards!)
This is the band returning in many ways to its roots, still experimenting with a more American sound, while McCartney is secure in his role as a ballads composer. The jam quality of the sessions (One After 909), hearken back to where the Fab Four were, earlier in their career - and yet, seem out of place. Only McCartney sounds polished. John's standout track is Don't Let Me Down, and Get Back remains a rock classic in the vein of Back in the USSR.
It isn't an uneven album at all, but my guess is that a lack of dynamism in some respects, and the legacy of being the Beatles' final release and a somewhat throwaway effort - has created an uneven legacy for this album. Not to forget that Let It Be followed an entire slew of concept albums from the Fab 4. The sweetness of Abbey Road and the intentional disparateness of the White Album and the vividness of Sgt Peppers left Let It Be as a conceptual void of sorts.
Let It Be Naked is probably best for completists. Across the Universe is one of my favourite tracks but the version here is average. Plus I'm not sure if Paul McCartney's signature pieces - Let It Be and The Long & Winding Road - are really better off without Phil Spector's strings. Simply because most of us have been listening to those versions for years! You don't miss the stripped instrumentation on these versions either. They will likely play in your head as you hear the naked versions.

Strange Flower.......2007-08-01
I picked up this CD from a record store in Sydney a couple of years ago so it has been out a while now. I got it by accident as I went back to get another CD. The store suggested Strange Flower as a replacement as the other CD wasn't in stock. The singer Aya is on another Naked music CD "Beautiful Tomorrow" by Blue Six. And Aya's CD has the same feel mellow and introspective. My favourite tracks are "Leaving for the Sun", and "I'll Never Give In"

I was on the hunt for new music because of old r&b and found Naked Music and Gaelle. This has a hint of r&b but that is ok because, it is done right with good smart song writing and a good sound. If you are looking for something different and you do not mind house, then get this cd.

Lisa Shaw makes me happy!!.......2007-04-19
When people ask me what kind of music I listen to....I never know exactly how to describe it. From now on, I will simply say, "Go listen to Lisa Shaw." WHat a beautiful voice!! It seems so hard to find a great vocalist who will put out snappy upbeat songs. Jeez, if I have to suffer through another one of these divas who only want to drone on with slow songs....BUH! I have listened to this album an obnoxious amount of times and each time it makes me happy. I can't say enough about her delicious voice, interesting lyrics, and cool music. I hope she feels compelled to make another soon.
Naked Cherry.......2007-03-02
I like this CD even if is not what i expected. It is really armonic something in between Sade and Dido. I prerfer Lisa when she is singing dance beat track, but like i said the cd is excellent.

Nude Dimensions: Naked Music, Vol. 1 - The Petalpusher Session Mixed By Miguel 'Migs'.......2007-05-06
This CD is amazing. Every track on the cd is top notch music.
Just Awesome!.......2006-09-11
I dont plan on writing a review of all the CDs I own, but this one is one of my favorites.
I am a newly re-born house-head. The house beast has been asleep for over 15 years and then I came across Mr. Migs by way of some of the reviews I read here on Amazon. And I learned how much the music has grown and matured and become so sofisticated! My children even tell me they like "my music" LOL!
If you like Deep House, you must own this disc. This CD has great fidelity, it thump, thump, thumps while I am at work or while I am commuting in traffic or when I am cleaning.....just whenever!
Do yourself a favor and pick it up. You will not be sorry!
Sexy naked music.......2006-07-04
As a fan of club/dance/ambient music in general, I would always find an artist that I liked and look desperately for their music always afraid to venture into compliations in fear of having a few songs that I knew I wouldn't like.
This is certainly not the case with Nude Dimensions.
Miguel Migs (petalpusher who I liked anyways) has done wonders in this seemless transition that takes you high then brings it back down to cool and just leades you through a musical experience only a fan of such music could truely appreciate.
Great CD.......2005-12-31
This is a great CD for anyone who is even a "moderate" house music fan. Great beats, sets the chill-out mood to a level to where you and you significant other will be comfortably naked. This is a must buy.
return .......2005-10-16
its been a long long time
and still ........
this cd (& nd2,nd3) IS the house, a home of desire for better music a better dream a better love, and this desire will never fade.
Its good for your soul ...

I love this album..........2007-01-04
I love Earl Klugh and this is guitar "straight" from the heart. One of his best. I bought it for "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" and found so many more wonderful songs, like "Moon River".
Disappointment........2006-11-30
Wow, I'm extremely disappointed with this CD. I've heard a few of his songs on satellite radio which made me want to purchase an album of his. I had no idea when he named the album Naked Guitar, that it would literally consist of music from a guitar and nothing else. I found the album to be extremely boring.
The only song I like on the album is Angelina which is pretty nice. But because the album lacks enthusiasm due to a lack of instruments, I don't recommend buying this one.
I should have gotten one of his greatest hits albums like I had initially planned but b/c of this album, I may not, instead, I'm thinking of getting an album by Rachelle Ferrell, her voice is just amazing.
Amazing Guitarist.......2006-08-04
This is an amazing albumn. A must have. I love it.

4 star cd not up to par with his 77-99 cds. not like his vol 1 7 2 Trio cds that is. George Bretzlafff 46 yrs old big fans of his david benoits, bob james, peter white & others grover wasshington jr,s to.
A winner - no bad cuts, well recorded, a master at the top of his game.......2006-04-27
I have loved Klugh's guitar styles since "One on One" - one of my all time favorite albums (OK, CDs). As mentioned by others, you can put the CD in your Player and sit back and enjoy tune after tune. I keep the CD in my office as background music - very mellow and yet I catch myself humming along (Ding Dong the Witch is Dead....).
I know some folks find these smooth jazz albums less than worthy of consideration but when you really listen, the talent wins you over. I know it did for me.

Album Description
Multi-platinum recording artist Lil' Kim possesses a presence and persona that looms well beyond her tiny frame. From her days as the feisty front woman of the Brooklyn rap collective, Junior M.A.F.I.A.- playing the Bonnie to the Notorious B.I.G.'s Clyde to her current status as hip-hop's Grammy-winning, fashion-forward Queen Bee, Kim continues to effortlessly captivate, seduce, provoke, and entertain. Whether she is ripping it live onstage, working it on the runway, or turning heads on the red carpet, Kim makes you look and listen! Kim is back with a vengeance with her fourth studio album taking her back to the days of Hard Core. Her highly anticipated and controversial release promises to be an event.
Customer Reviews:
Fake, horrible talent.......2006-12-28
Years ago I had the pleasure of meeting the REAL lil'kim from when Diddy and them all were just starting out. Unknownst to most people there were actually two Lil'Kims. Like many sad stories, the less talented one succeeded while the talented, true and beautiful Kim now lives in ghetto of Philly trying to make ends meet. Like her name, Lil'Kim, has lil' talent. Don't waste your money on this - McD's fries are more healther for your ears then this! Two thumbs down!
Kim Been The First Lady Since She Dropped Hardcore.......2006-12-21
Lil' Kim has a tendency to have a theme run through each of her albums. Hardcore was Kim being gangsta and her solo debut into the industry. The Notorious K.I.M. was sexy showing everyone what Kim can do. "La Bella Mafia" was the fun album. The Naked Truth is the album that combats all the negativity thrown at her when she went to prison. Kim really got everything off her chest on this album and that shows us she's not afraid to get personal. Even though some people say that Kim sounds bitter, I think she's rapping what she's feeling and it brought her a great album.
Things open up with a personal favorite, "Spell Check." Kim spells her way through the song talking about how she's the baddest game and she shouldn't have to spell it out. While on the track, she takes shots at 50 Cent [implying he's gay] and Junior Mafia [saying that they were against her on the trial]. This is such a strong track because her lyrics are good and her flow is amazing. "Lighters Up" is the first single off the album and has a Jamaican flow to it. I like the song but I don't think it should have been the first single or in fact a single at all. It's still a great song where Kim tells everybody from everywhere to put their lighters up for her. "Shut Up B****" has Kimmie telling all the haters to cram it. She defnitely gets the message across as she shouts "get your facts straight or shut up b****!" I love this track and it was smart to put the song out during all the trial things she went through. "Whoa" is the second and final single from the album and this one is pretty good as well. It's more club oriented where Lil' Kim just gets things off her chest including some nasty words for her enemies. "Slippin" is the only track that I don't like on the album becuase the beats aren't that great and Kim doesn't bring the energy. "All Good" has Kim teaming up with mentor Biggie where he repeats the title of the song. This is a really good track since Kim talks about everything that's going on but in this one, she sounds like she doesn't care what they have to think about her instead of sounding extremely angry. This is demonstrated "you know you can't keep a good b**** down, it's all good." One of my favorite lines is "all these things haters do just to degrade ya, only made me stronger so thanks for the favor." "I Know You See Me" had to grow on me before I liked it but I do like this one now. It has Kimmie saying that even though everyone hates to admit it, there's only one Lil' Kim and she's a star. It has a good confidence vibe to it that is really catchy. "Quiet" is the rumored single from the re-release of The Naked Truth. This one also had to grow on me before I liked it but it's a pretty strong track. The Game drops in for the chorus while Kim calls people out on the verses such as Foxy Brown, 50 Cent and others. Things come to my favorite song: "Durty." Kimmie has the Jamaican vibe again but it sounds so much better here. It features Kim singing and rapping and she doesn't do that quite often. When she does, it's pure fire [like Can't F*** With Queen Bee from La Bella Mafia]. It has one of my favorites lines by her: "two piece bikini Fendi mink draggin on the floor/Kim been the first lady since I dropped Hardcore." She takes another stab at 50 Cent calling him "the hip-hop c**k" but if you think about it, he deserves it. I really wish this was a single but I guess it's not going to happen. We Don't Give A F*** is another one of my favorites since it sounds so different from the rest of the album. Kim takes a break from talking about all the haters and prison on this one to lay back and have some fun. Bun B. and Twista drop in for guest appearances and they don't take away from the action. I only wish Kim had a bit more time on the track. Kimmie then brings a triple helping of sexy on "Gimme That," "Kitty Box" and "Kronik." "Gimme That" is reminiscent of "Magic Stick" from La Bella Mafia but rapper 50 Cent is replaced with close friend Maino. It even has the same structure where the guy does the first verse, Kim does the second and both do the third. While it's no "Magic Stick," it still is a great track. "Kitty Box" is one of my favorites as it is more lay-back where Kim talks about her "kitty box" and how boys wanna play in it. The moaning at the end actually sounds like singing and is a nice way to end it. "Kronik" has Snoop Dogg dropping in for a little appearance. The first time I heard it, I loved it but I didn't hear Snoop doing anything. I then realized he was doing the chorus and he really doesn't provide anything here so he should have been left off the album. The first four lines are my favorite: "Tell you why I'm so d*** fly/ One hit of me and you'll be so d*** high/ Plus I got that hydroflow/ Come and get your head right n****." "Get Yours" has T.I. dropping in for a guest appearance and both rappers do pretty good on this one. I'm very impressed with this one. "Last Day" is Kim's most personal on the album where she talks about how nobody can take away how people scream her name or how she's critically acclaimed. I have to give Kim kudos for making the track but I don't really like it that much. It's very long with a huge skit at the end [which is 5:30] and I don't think it's the greatest. However, it was a good way to end the album.
Now that Kim is out of jail, she can focus on making an album that reflects Kim a little better instead of Kim on her way to jail. Hopefully she'll bring another La Bella Mafia because that album was a classic.

Bif Naked alter-rocks!.......2005-11-28
I had only heard a couple of her songs on this album & admit that i purchased her second album before i did this one. I like this one alot. I like her style, honesty & feeling, and shes just a cool chick!
Bif rocks.......2005-10-25
although you can really tell this is a 1st album, i still love it. some of the songs are rough, but others are very polished. 'any day now' is one of my favorite songs. her voice & lyrics make the album. i also liked all of her little comments on the inside of the packaging. kinda like moby, but not so preachy. definitely worth the extremely low price!
Thankyou buffy.......2005-08-04
First heard of bif naked on buffy the vampire slayer and fell in love with the music. Finally got round to ordering it and its fab. Each song has its own special style and the lyrics have deep meaning. If you have heard one song and like it you will love the whole album. Buy it now.
A Complete Impression.......2003-04-30
From "Moment of Truth" to "Lucky" Bif Naked exemplifies every possible genre. Bif Naked is vivacious, sultry, Respectable and extremely attractive not to mention her impressive talent. Her range compliments every song and leaves you wondering if there is anything she can't do. I have been listening to Bif Naked for three years now and I believe there isn't. Upon hearing "I bificuc" I didn't think there was much more left to accomplished but I was proven wrong when I brought "Purge". Needless to say I was not disappointed. I would recommend any one of the serveral albums, reguardless of what style of music captivates you. There is something for everyone. If her looks don't stimulate you the music surely will. The only aspect left is a live show! WHEN WILL BIF NAKED TOUR IN NEW JERSEY?
everything's here.......2003-04-22
I Bificus has something everyone can appreciate. The lyrics are simple but packed with emotion, especially in Lucky and Any Day Now. Bif deals with all experiences of life; Only the Girl deals with the anger after a breakup (something almsot everyone can relate to) while in Chotee she expresses the loss of giving up a child. No matter what mood I'm in, I can play I Bificus and find something that relates. I'm sorry that more people either don't know about Bif Naked or look passed her tattoed appearance to see the genuine artist within.

The title said it all........2007-05-14
The title states all that you need to know. There are a few really good 80's hits that we remember, but the rest sound pretty much the same.
Excellent CD to add to Your Collection.......2007-01-28
First of all, the intro to David Bowie's "Lets Dance" doesn't sound very similar to the intro in "Promises, Promises." Second, both songs were released in 1983, so the chance of "Promises, Promises" copying "Let's Dance" is small. Naked Eyes is the most unique and underrated musical group of the 1980's. This cd starts out with their most popular hit "Always Something There To Remind Me," with it's stong synth. Other notable hits on the album are "Promises, Promises," and "No Flowers Please." This CD keeps it coming all the way through from the beginning to the end. All in all a great cd to add to your collection.
4 1/2 Stars - Some of the Best of the 80's!.......2006-06-26
First, thanks to Pete Byrne (the surviving half of Naked Eyes, along with the late Rob Fisher) for clarifying what happened with the two greatest hits collections of Naked Eyes in his Amazon review of Promises Promises (December 14, 2005) - EMI put this earlier compilation together, leaving off When the Lights Go Out, one of only four Top 40 hits by Naked Eyes (What WERE they thinking?). Pete subsequently put together a different, and somewhat superior, compilation (the aforementioned Promises Promises collection), but when EMI decided to delete one of them, they chose the wrong one and kept this one - Promises Promises is now long out of print, and used copies are usually VERY expensive. (Byrne, of course, makes nothing on the sale of used CD's, so don't blame him for profiteering.) This "Best Of" collection only contains 15 songs (all from their two U.S., studio albums), while "Promises Promises - The Very Best Of" contains 20 (including some bonus material).
That being said, even without When the Lights Go Out, this is a fantastic collection of songs by Naked Eyes, covering 9 of the 10 songs from their first album, the self-titled Naked Eyes, never yet released on CD. The Promises Promises collection leaves off only Could Be from their first album. By the way, looking at a Naked Eyes discography, I just found that the debut album was titled Burning Bridges in other countries, including two additional songs A Very Hard Act to Follow and The Time is Now, both included on Promises Promises, but not on this compilation.
Four of the ten songs from their other studio album, Fuel for the Fire (also never yet released on CD), are left off this compilation - Once is Enough and Answering Service do not appear on either compilation, while New Hearts and Me I See in You appear on Promises Promises. Of these four, all but New Hearts appear on Everything and More, a later compilation of rarities, b-sides, and remixes.
For the completist, almost everything from the two studio albums appears on either this Best Of package or the Everything and More rarities CD (and you can pick up When the Lights Go Out on the Back-to-Back Naked Eyes / Spandau Ballet CD quite cheaply - it has all 4 of their Top 40 hits). But hopefully Pete Byrne will be successful in the negotiations he mentioned in his review, to eventually bring out ALL of the Naked Eyes recorded output on CD. And hopefully this will include the song from the Dr. Pepper commercial done by Naked Eyes that someone in another review referred to - how cool.
Though they released only two studio albums, Naked Eyes had some of the catchiest pop songs of the 80's, and this CD is an excellent collection of all (except one) of their best!
the best underated duo of the 80's.......2006-06-06
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SONG" ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME " WHICH IS EVEN A REMAKE, MOST PEOPLE DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW THIS DUO YET IF YOU LISTEN TO SOME OF THERE SONGS ITS REALLY YOUR MONEY'S WORHT TO BUY THERE ALBUM. MOST OF THERE SONGS FIND THERE WAY THRU MOBILE MIXERS BUT TRY TO LISTEN TO THE SONG " WHEN THE LIGHTS GO ON" WHICH IS NOT EVEN INCLUDED HERE THEN YOU COULD SAY THAT THIS DUO COULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUCCESFUL. TOO BAD FISHER IS NOW GONE AND THERE WON'T BE ANY MORE NAKED EYES ALBUM. I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE OUT THERE CHECK OUT THEIR FIRST ALBUM ENTITLED NAKED EYES AND YOU HEAR WHAT I MEAN
Come on people, take it for what it is!...........2005-12-23
It was great (and still is) great music! If you are not a fan of the synth sound, then what are you even doing listening to a band consisting of only two people and a bunch of keyboards! Their song writing prowess in my opinion was unmatched at the time and has been a large factor in their longevity. The way they matched the vocals to the complexities in their programming is pure genius and I have been absolutely inspired by their ingenuity. Keyboard was the best medium for their music. I just dont picture the songs having the depth that they did in a rock atmosphere. It is too bad Rob Fisher passed away; I think in today's music arena, he would have blown everyone away. Some of my favorite songs are: No Flowers Please, Emotion in Motion, Burning Bridges, Promises Promises, and A Very Hard Act to Follow (which unfortunately is not included on this album).
