Mixing a variety of styles with a Celtic base, this was McKennitt's breakthrough album and remains one of her most musically interesting. "All Souls Night" begins the album, with dance-like rhythms and McKennitt's wonderful voice singing about the Celtic New Year. Other features include a musical setting of Tennyson's "Lady of Shalott", which, while not as sophisticated as Noyes' "The Highwayman" on The Book of Secrets, is an enchanting listen. There's also an interesting rendition of "Greensleeves" and the Spanish-flavored "Tango to Evora", as well as the haunting "Courtyard Lullaby" and the wistful "The Old Ways". A setting of words from Shakespeare's Cymbeline closes the album, which focuses thematically on life, death, and the borders between them. --Genevieve Williams

Her Magnum Opus.......2007-07-14

This is the album that put her on the map. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is. I first heard her song "Cymbeline" on "Thistle and Shamrock" about 10 years ago, and instantly fell in love with her music and went right out and bought this album. I have to say, I was definitely not disappointed. The best tracks are "Greensleeves", (which coincidentally, almost didn't make it on the listings!), "Tango to Evora" "The lady of Shallot" and "Cymbeline". That being said, all of the others are very good as well. Loreena McKinnett is a very talented and unerrated artist that I feel everyone needs to know about. Please give this a listen, and I promise that you will thank me!

A Masterpiece from Loreena McKennitt......."THE VISIT".......2007-06-16

As all my reviews of Loreena McKennitt's work reflect, she is a one-of-a-kind musician, and very special as a performer and also a songwriter.

Her music is at once lovely, light, ethereal, mystic, magical, earthy, "Celtic, for Sure", and, always piercing and heart-touching. There are none like her. And, all this done, basically, on the harp!

This was the first I had ever heard of her, and of her work. I was visiting a friend, and she introduced me to Loreena with this album. I fell instantly in love with "The Lady of Challot" and a couple others on this disc. It is a definite "Must Have", trust me on this!

As all her sets, this one, too, is a homogeneous, composed through, entity. Somehow, perhaps, this may be why her albums "cling" to your mind so very long after listening to them....the continuity of everything on the album. In truth, not many albums are created this way.

Pick this up, take it home, turn the lights down, or off completely, and kick back, with some lemon cookies and a cup of English Tea, and let the beautiful waves of the music on this album wash over you, refreshing you from a hard day. ~operabruin

A Visit to Revisit Again & Again.......2007-01-21

LOREENA MCKENNITT is a multi-faceted musician and recording artist is a gifted writer and performer who focuses on neo-classical folk based on early or pre-Christian themes. Her hauntingly beautiful rendition of Alfred Lord Tennyson's "The Lady of Shallot" (1843) from THE VISIT brings to life the plight of a daemonic lady doomed by her love for the mortal Lancelot; the eternal longing of Psyche for her beloved Eros, and its promise so seldom fulfilled. As with many of McKennitt's works, The Lady of Shallot is woven with strains of ethereal sadness, a mystic musing that succeeds in both charming and ennobling the listener.

An enchanting vocal universe.......2007-01-14

This is one of my favourite album by Loreena. It's a musical trance. I suggest you also try Marcome who is a bit like Loreena in her approach but with layered voices, it's smooth and ethnic too. I found River of Soul and the Remastered Seven Seas here on amazon in canada but could only listen to her work on her official website which is by the way beautiful. We are blessed with great female vocalists in Canada!

I am a huge fan of Jerry Goldsmith. They did a great job preserving his vision. I can listen to this collection for hours. Great music!

Elmer Bernstein Film Music Collection.......2006-11-03

This is compilation of hit film music from one of the greatest composers in motion pictures. What is surprising though is the music not included like the Ghost And The Darkness, the 13th Warrior, Rudy and others. To be sure, 4 discs are not enough for a composure of this stature. THe recording, however, is an "engineering masterpiece" which makes the music even more enjoyable than when you first heard it at the movies. When are we ging to get the music that was omittd from this compilaton?

Overall a strong Goldsmith sampler.......2006-04-11

Okay, this is a CD review, so the focus is on music, but I've got to say this first: this has got to be a contender for the ugliest cover art ever. I mean, come on...instead of a tribute to the composer, the cover looks like someone spilled a glass of merlot over a NASA photo.

Fortunately, even an ugly cover will not ruin good music. And the good news is that I'd say about 75 percent of the music is good....and on a 4 cd set, that's a lot. Like other Silva compilations, the strength of this compilation is the variety. There are selections from the big releases (Star Trek, Omen, Rambo), but there is also a healthy dose of tracks from the smaller releases(Under Fire, Lionheart, The Swarm).

Two examples come to mind. Capricorn One and The Great Train Robbery are two movies that are not exactly household names today, but are dominated by two of Goldmith's finest main themes. The City of Prague Philharmonic come through with terrific renditions. And there are plenty of other strong performances...a few being concert versions conducted by Goldsmith himself. Suprisingly, "The Wind and the Lion" works, which is no small accomplishment given the ferentic original performance of "Raisuli Attacks".

It's not a complete success. A few of the performances fall flat, particularly some of the more inventive scores. Total Recall is just bad, mangling the performance with poor percussion and synthesizer choices to boot. Also a letdown is the Klingon Attack from the first Star Trek movie. The Prague Philhamonic attempt doesn't sound bad--it's just that once you've heard the original soundtrack's "blaster beam" with enough bass to rattle your teeth...well let's just say Silva's version is a little tinny in comparison.

But I shouldn't dwell on the negative. Overall, this is a strong sampler of Goldsmith's variety. There are plenty of quality performances here, and despite a few omissions (noticeably Planet of the Apes)this is a very good release from Silva.

It was wonderful to hear Mr. Goldsmith's music that went all the way back to The Man from UNCLE, The Waltons, Dr Kildare, etc. And then to hear his music up to the present. The man was a genius!

Almost the perfect compilation.......2005-12-31

Age has its value.... This sweeping collection of compositions brings back so many great memories. This collection shows how significant Goldsmith was for both the movie screen and the small screen. With such a grand collection, every reader can be assured that at least one movie or TV program they like or remember had Goldsmith's contribution. It was an amazing life and the collection well worth having.

However, as sweepig as it is, there are a few holes in the selection. "First Contact", one of the sweetest and richest compositions from the Star Trek is absent. "The Ghost and the Darkness" is missing and the "Medicine Man" music should include the theme song. By dwelling on several selections from the Blue Max, these were squeezed out. Three full and important movie themes got the axe.

However, all but "The Ghost and the Darkness" are readily available and not overly expensive as is the "Ghost" CD. This is a must have for the TV and movie music fan.

Before there was Hans Solo there was Napolean Solo, before ER there was Dr. Kildare. Jerry Goldsmith IS Sci-Fi. "Resistance is futile.. you MUST assimilate this CD collection."

Wanting to hear the sound of a balalaika!.......2005-10-18

I have not received my cd yet, but I was expecting to receive one with balalaika only, so I am already disappointed. In the samples, the orchestra is so predominate I cannot tell which is the balalaika. Thanks, Violet

From Russia, with Strings.......2004-08-09

The Osipov Russian Folk Orchestra made this fine recording some four decades ago, when the U.S. and the Soviet Union were barely on speaking terms. I imagine that some of the people who bought this record found themselves on FBI or CIA observation lists. Still, it would have been worth it, for the sheer exuberance of the music alone. The performances are bold and exciting, tinged with a hint of danger, and the listener is carried away on a crest of winter sleigh rides through places like Moscow and Vladivostock. Sure, the orchestra was capitalizing on the popularity of Dr. Zhivago, but at least they were able to find an audience. There's a little bit of hiss, given the antiquated recording instruments of the time, but it isn't enough to distract from the music. In fact, it's barely audible. I understand that they have since released a remastered version of the disc, but I'm always suspicious of perfection. One other thing: the cover leads you to believe that this is solely a balalaika show, but that isn't quite the case. There is, in fact, a whole orchestra here, but it is used quite smartly. Those other instruments give the music the air of authenticity, and create a kind of old world mood, but it's the balalaikas that carry the day.

Spectacular.......2004-07-15

This album is not only one of the finest technically, but also musically. It was recorded back in the early sixties with the finest equipment and the finest audio technique ever devised. This has to be one of the most enjoyable listening experiences the listener will ever experience, as is all of the Mercury Living Presence series. We are privilaged to have these great recordings re-made on CD, and this particular one has to be at the top of the list. It will challenge any other recording technique, and it will lift your spirits every time you listen to it!

Nothing beats this for exuberance.......2000-02-06

The sound of massed balalaikas is a real treat, especially when recorded with as much vividness and realism as on this disc. The Osipov Folk Orchestra also consists of bass balalaikas, accordions, flutes, Vladimir Shepherd's Horns, and percussion and they produce quite a kaleidoscope of sound! I particularly enjoy the comedic Vladimir Shepherd's Horns, heard to their most humorous effect in the Tchaikovsky piece, which is guaranteed to make you smile. This recording uncannily conveys the impression of a live event. Of course, the performers deserve most of the credit for this. Their unanimity of attack and sheer exuberance are heartstopping. Even if you think you don't like Russian folk music, give this a try!

K.T. Oslin's 1996 release, the woefully underappreciated My Roots Are Showing, honored her own eclectic musical underpinnings. This time, Oslin and coproducer Raul Malo of the Mavericks mix Oslin originals with pop standards. Oslin's sharp, focused voice deftly navigates the funky Memphis R&B arrangements framing "Live Close By, Visit Often" and "Somebody's Leavin' Somebody" and on the autumnal "I Can't Remember Not Loving You" conveys sensuality without artifice. Her acting talent transforms the story-song "Neva Sawyer" into a nearly six-minute minidrama. Though somewhat out of place, the pop standards "If You Were the Only Boy in the World," "Mean to Me," and "What Is This Thing Called Love" are all worthy, mature performances. In that context, they had to be kidding with the closing track, a bizarre techno-rap version of the 1951 Rosemary Clooney hit "Come On-A My House." If not meant as a joke, it reeks of pandering. That stumble aside, in an increasingly youth-oriented market, Oslin--who turned 60 in 2001--remains an oasis of hip, knowing class. --Rich Kienzle

Prime Cuts: Maybe We Should Learn to Tango, Live Close By, Visit Often, I Can't Remember Not Loving You

Though in her 50s, thanks to genius of lighting, Oslin looks like Shania's rival. Indeed, she is musically. "Live Close By," Oslin's "comeback" CD, finds her at her creative best. Every song has an identity of its own. The CD opens with an upbeat latino influenced title track. Here Oslin sings about the life of a single woman weathered by the trials and tribulations of romance. Backed with the occassional horns and an infectious melody, it's just a breathe of reality as she sings about independence and the unreliability of romance.

Another gem from this album is "Maybe We Should Learn to Tango." In terms of emotive uctions, this song ranks high up there with another Oslin classic "Hold Me." "Tango" recounts the tale of a desperate wife trying to salvage her marriage by giving it another goal through tangoing together. Sung with so much emotion, you could hear the pain ringing through Oslin's voice. "Drivin' and Cryin'," another heart wrenching ballad, comes close to being another favorite. "Drivin'" reminds me alot of Oslin's hit "New Way Home."

Despite being scarred by romance, not all hope is evaporated. Oslin does celebrate the power of love in "A Moment of Forever," a tender a tender ode to forever love. This song could easily be used as a wedding classic.

Moving away from romance is "Neva Sawyer"--a vivid story song about a barroom brawl. Oslin paints such a picturesque scene that you can't help but listen. Though the song runs above 6 minutes, you can't help but want to hear more episodes of Neva Sawyer. On the other hand, "Mexico Road," with its latino inflenced beat, is an upbeat decalaration of indepence.

Raul Malo, Oslin's co-producer, has never allowed himself to be pigeonholed. His own solo records and those with country group the Mavericks are testaments. With Malo on the helm, Oslin veers into unconventional territory as she gives us three short (almost medley like) standards. Her rendition of "Mean to Me" showcases Oslin's wit and sassiness that she brings to this pop standard. My only complain is that Oslin should sing all the verses of these standards, rather than singing excerpts of them all running just within a couple of minutes.

Though there are some very strong country songs ("I Don't Remember Not Loving You," "Tango,"), there's a surprise at the end. Oslin closes the CD with a dance version of Rosemary Clooney's "House." Ironically, the song became the biggest hit from this CD. While country radio shun Oslin from their playlist, dance clubs embraced "House" and has placed Oslin on the rungs of Billboard dance charts. Oslin on the dance chart, that's almost unheard of. But that's what this diva is capable of and lots more.

This CD has been one of my most played CDs. Every song is different and they are always interesting. With songs like this and talent so enoromous, I would echo Oslin's title track, please "live close by and visit often."

Not even a week after this cd was commercially released, Oslin stated that this would "more than likely" be her last album. With that said, she apparently chose to go out with bang. Was Nashville ready for this album? To answer that, I'll have to ask another question...Was Nashville EVER ready for K.T. Oslin and her music? The answer is simply, no. No one in Nashville was prepared to let a classy, intelligent, independent woman come in and take over-which is exactly what Oslin did in 1988 when she released the now classic "80's Ladies" album that spawned several number one hits and garnered Oslin a couple of Grammys to say the least. No one in Nashville knew then or even now how to compete with true artistry and a no-nonsense attitude for the business side of show business. Oslin does it her way or no way at all, and has made this very clear in her songwriting, producing, vocals, and personality that is put forth in each track of every album she's released. Charming, witty, and comedic, Oslin has "done it again" with "Live Close By, Visit Often". Culminating originals with a trio ensemble of pop standards, Oslin has once again proved her talent status to the rest of Nashville that keeps pushing cookie cutter material out to the bored mass of radio listeners. Radio ignored "Live Close By" because it was different, as is all of Oslin's music. In example, what other female country artist would have the guts or the brass to record a techno cover of Rosemary Clooney's 1951 hit "Come On-A My House", throwing in a "X-Files"-like spy guitar with India-influenced rhythm? No female country act could hold Oslin a light to go by when it comes to her musical standard and her display of stage presence and enough moxy to scare off even some members of the mafia-all of this of course is wrapped up in a sensual,funny,charming, and lovable American personality that choses to shine her own way...part Katherine Hephburn part Kim Catrall, Oslin knows now, just as she did when "80's Ladies" rocketed her to living legend, that she's got what it takes to keep it rockin'. With all that said, if you don't buy this album, it's your loss-you will simply be missing out on one of the few great singers that still has true feelings towards the word "artist". Oslin may stand on her own terms, but as far as status-she's there with the living greats...Midler, Streisand, Franklin, Parton....do I have to keep going?

It took Oprah to get me back on the K.T. Oslin bandwagon. I had to have this CD after seeing her perform recently. I was a jukebox listener then fan of 80s Ladies and Cornell Crawford. Live Close By Visit Often makes me laugh and remember how much I loved K.T. back in the 80s. I also had to get Love in A Small Town on CD to satisfy my K.T. cravings. Raul Malo (of The Mavericks fame) brings out even more sass and style in a great singer who has always been sassy and stylish. No longer bound by the conventions of quote Country Radio, K.T. gets groovy and saucy with an almost salsa flavored beat on "Somebody's Leaving Somebody", the tune she performed on Oprah. The title track verves and jives with a singer who knows what she wants, "live close by visit often, that'll work for me!" "Neva Sawyer" shows K.T.'s strength as a songwriter and a singer of great story songs ala "Mary and Willy" from her previous recordings. Drivin, Cryin' and Missin' You shows what else K.T. does well, the heartbreaking sad song. Hopefully her Oprah visit will add renewed interest to this great singer/songwriter and she will indeed get to "visit often".

FAT FREE GOOD MUSIC.......2000-01-26

Plug in and turn on, that is the most apt title for any cd i have ever seen. The music is enjoyable and really innovative. The only reason i rate this cd 4 stars is that some songs on this cd are totally naieve and easy. But this cd is a great buy and highly recomended toward building agood ambient trip hop cpllection. There is a good variety and you will not get board even if you listen to the entire cd at one time. This cd is to futuristic music what classical music is to the music od today.

GOO STUFF!.......1999-04-07

This cd is very cool...I like how the music kind of starts plane and simple and the picks up its tempo. I have heard many trip-hop rythems and some of the beats on this cd are really fantastic. Trip hop music has certainly come a long way and this Cd is a strong proof of it. I will certainly concider buying the rest of the cd's in this series!

One of my favorite trip-hop CDs (and I have quite a few of them)! These cool acid jazz tracks vary in speeds, but all have a rich sound an inescapable rhythm. At times, some tracks are reminiscent of Orbital. I consider this CD a Trip Hop Classic!

Flawed Track Inclusion.......2007-07-29

I have to admit right off the bat that I don't own this album, although I've been trying to scrape up all the original soundtracks for the movies and some of the TV series. But looking through the track listing, it seems muddled with too many sound effects and tracks that could've been replaced with better ones. I wish Paramount and the recording industries would release a 2-CD set of tracks that includes only the main title sequences of each Star Trek TV series and standout tracks from the 10 feature films, since most of these soundtracks have gone out of print and are hard to find. Most of these compilations of different film tracks never include the main title sequences of the films, which are often the standout orchestral tracks of each movie. I hope they release an album like this, filled with only the best Trek music that is hard to find.

Quite good, but not a stellar "Trek".......2007-05-18

Silva Screen Records has made a name for itself releasing reproductions of modern orchestral soundtracks, with most of its products centering around a particular genre or composer. Star Trek has a history of quality music, so its no suprise Silva has taken a crack at music in the final frontier. This is a fine release, with some strong points and some weak ones as well.

IN GENERAL: For the purist looking for a "best of" compilation taken from the original soundtracks take note: this isn't that product. Rather, these are reproductions by Nic Raine conducting the City of Prague Philharmonic. That said, this is a quality group, and the general sound is professional and comes off quite well (for the most part..I'll mention a few exceptions). It is superior to the other releases I have heard from the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.

SELECTION: The biggest advantage here is variety of sources. The Trek feature films are all represented here, as well as the various series (except for the last one, "Enterprise"). The thouroughness seems to match or excel the oher Star Trek Compilation CDs that have been released. There are a few other offbeat additions..notably a four minute suite from the videogame Star Fleet Academy. Personally, I found this bland track to be four minutes of wasted disk space. The original series has many memorable moments (listen to the Amok Time/The Doomsday Machine soundtrack) which would be be more exciting and also a better fit on this album.

Jerry Goldsmith's standard Star Trek March is heard far too often on these 2 CDs. The march itself is terrific, but it has been used so much it has become the franchise's major theme and the album's producers rely on it by representing many movies by their "End Titles". Unfortunately, Goldsmith's end titles consistently use a three-section approach: two sections of the "standard" Star Trek March sandwich a middle section of music that is unique for that particular film. This is OK if you are listening to a single movie's soundtrack, but for a compilation album, the fourth or fifth time you hear the march, it is too much. It would have been a better idea to cut a few "End Title" performances in favor of other selections from the films' soundtracks.

PERFORMANCE QUALITY: For the most part it is very good and captures the spirit of the original soundtracks. Selections from Horner's scores for the second and third films stand out as particularly well done. The last movie, "Nemesis" also has a terrifically arranged suite, and most of the movie soundtrack reproductions are very good quality. The only exception is from "Klingon Attack" in which the awesome bass of the "blaster-beam" from the original cannot be matched by the comparatively hollow synthesized atempt here.

PERSONAL GRIPE: the inclusion of sound effects. Every so often a special effect like "Warp Drive" or "Dogfight in Space" pops up between tracks. This by itself would be extremely cheesy. Add to this that these are not the actual sound effects from the TV shows or movies and the cheesiness levels reach a level I think only a Wisconsin resident could appreciate. Sci Fi music (and Star Trek in particular) seems to inspire some labels to add special effects inclusions like this. Who knows why.

I must disagree.......2005-07-17

I own all the original recordings, and I still enjoy this re-recording. It is good. It is better than the Cincinatti Pops "Symphonic Star Trek", it is better than the Richard Hayman "Star Trek" compilation from 89, its better than the Sci Fi compilation on the Edel label from 93 and for the most part is better than Varese's Ultimate Star Trek from 1998.

This collection has music you will not find anywhere else. The Tasha's Farewell track is beautiful and the only other place its avialable is the Edel "Best of Science Fiction" compilation from 1993, and while that was recorded by the same orchestra, it was with a different conductor, and comparing the two, you can tell that Nic Raine was more successful with Prague than William Motzing was. That said Edel release is also more than $30 here on amazon. Also this release is in HDCD Dolby which is a plus. There's also two cues from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; one of them is on The Best of Star Trek: 30th Anniversary Special, the other is not on any other album. In addition, there is music from Ron Jones "Starfleet Academy" video game which is pretty cool to listen to, and not availble anywhere else that I know of. Finally, Jerry Goldsmith's main theme can get boring after a while, I mean, its repetitive that it is in all the end credit suites, it would have been nice for Insurrection to have maybe an action cue instead of the end credits suite...And Nic Raine, did just that, only for Star Trek: Nemesis. Instead of the tradition end credit suite, Mr. Raine arranged a professional suite with the main Nemesis theme, some action cues, as well as the Goldsmith Star Trek march, and it is a wonderful 8 minutes. If you already have the 3 space and beyond albums, the Star Trek Nemesis track as well as Birds of Prey Decloaking from Star Trek III are the only new tracks on this CD.

This is a must-buy for fans of star trek in general, and hardcore star trek fans should buy this album for the aforementioned cues that aren't available anywhere else.

Ain't that bad at all........2007-06-01

I admit it. At first listening to this album I wasn't that impressed, but it usually takes a couple listens to appreciate some albums. So what's good about it? Well, it's actually pretty good. Songs like Visit Me, Come over, That other woman and Out of Sight are great songs, that sound sweet and seductive, especially Out of Sight (which is probably the best song). I guess for some people, you would have to be in the mood to listen to songs like these, so I wouldn't recommend it, if you don't like this kind of Rnb (mainly slow, sweaty and sexy like this album). There are some songs though, that I just wasn't feeling. So it's a 3.75.

Their best album.......2006-09-27

During their rather short career, Changing Faces showed a constant artistical growth. So, this album has been really their best effort. The girls shines in Joe's produced "That Other Woman", one of my favorite tracks of that period. This song, and at least other four good tracks included on the album, made me think about how the right producers can influence the final quality of a musical project.
I think that Changing Faces deserves to be treated how good performers. Maybe they haven't given us songs to be remembered how milestones of R&B music, but compared to the dreadful things that we listen now on the radio...i really can't understand some of the previous negative comments (ok, i don't understand even how someone can give a five stars rating to Paris Hilton's album...but this is another story).

I absolutely love this cd. I just listened to it after a couple of years and was surprised that I forgot how good this cd is.
So it was 2001 and a friend that stayed in the college dorms was giving it away for free. So being the collector that I am...it was mine.
I have always loved Changing Faces as a group but never brought any of their music because it appeared that they would just put out some hits and that was it...nothing too special.
However this cd was different.
My fav tracks are 1-5 easily. Can skip from there and take it to 10-12.
If you are looking for an great R&B album, with quality slow jams, this cd is for you. There are 7 that I like.

can be classy and still be dirty.nice album but a lil
raunchiness won't hurt.they need to make up they mind,do you
want to be sweet ladies or sultry vixens?.though they showed alot of maturity with their last album this one included.the problem i had was that i exspected something suductive,atleast from the album cover but its the exact opposite.they use their sex appeal for their image but not for their music. their like a tease,a verry well maketed tease none theless.anyway back on topic,the album is real moody,and slow.it has the atmosphere of a seductfull album,but the subject matter is typical female drama stories(wich is ok if thats what your into).but to me i HATE that,because its the same stories over and over again.however i love the song the other woman though.

well rounded album.......2005-01-14

I will say this is not my favortie Changing Faces album because All Day All Night is my favorite album of all time. Visit Me(my favorite track on the album) sounds like a lost track from all day all night, its a sensual invitation to a bedroom meeting.The girls both come threw on the track vocally..I love it when they play off of each others energy.Vocally Cassandra and Cherise have this amazing chemistry that is currently lost in todays r&b market. I love Aaliyah but her version of Come Over doesnt hold a candel to theirs, Cassandra Lucas' voice is just beyond seductive. Baby You Aint Got Me, a very uptempo track with queen pen is a standout, you can actually sing and carry uptempo songs, another skill lost among todays r&b females..Ciara*cough*.I also enjoy the live track more than a friend and the duets shine especially You Told Me..Cherise lets go on that track and I was surprised.another solid effort from the classiest sounding ladies of r&b..by the way the sexxy new look is hot!

Homeland.......2007-01-19

I believe I own every CD this composer/musician has produced. I frequently give them as gifts, and "Homeland" is always appreciated. I have it on my computer at my office, and I am asked at least a few times a week what it is - everyone likes it so much. As an aside, I have given "Numinous" to friends who are ill or having surgery, and they all have commented on how the music is relaxing enough to take their minds off pain.

Scrumptious, Heavenly, Soothing..........2002-01-18

This album is so beautiful. George continues to amaze me with his ability to softy caress the piano keys with such a loving touch. I have many instrumental albums that I play to relax and unwind, or to curl up with a favorite book... But George Skakoulis is one of my very favorites. I have given his CDs to many friends as gifts and every single one of them, have thanked me over and over. (One of my all time favorites is his "GENERATIONS" CD.) I often play George's albums on 'repeat' while I am creating in my art studio and I never get tired of listening to his music. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD now.. you will definitely be happy you did! :) Thank you George... You've done it again with "Return to Homeland".
