Editorial Reviews
Carla DeSantis, Rockrgrl Magazine
"Kym is an exceptional writer...haunting melodies. Hypnotic."

Product Description
Kym Tuvim has "a huge voice, one that fills rooms and gets compared to Tracy Chapman, if only because it pulls you in the instant you hear it," writes Charles R. Cross, noted music writer and Editor of Seattle's music & entertainment magazine, The Rocket. With her self-titled debut, Tuvim's acoustic-based pop highlights not only her striking voice, but also her knack for blending rhythmic grooves and lush instrumental textures. The result: songs which are as much about the musical vibe as they are about the stories being told. Featuring a top-notch ensemble including Michael Manring on bass (Michael Hedges, John Gorka) and Julie Wolf on accordion (Ani DiFranco, Laura Love), Tuvim's album was cited as a "Top 12 D.I.Y." by The Performing Songwriter Magazine in 1998. And, while it's certainly an indie-project, out on Cake Records - an independent cooperative label based in Seattle, "it's no farm team production," affirms Cross. "[Tuvim's album] sounds as good as any AAA record from a major."

5 out of 5 stars Don't miss out any longer.......2006-05-21

What a rich voice and gorgeous lyrics. I'm sad that *I* missed out for so long. The only criticism I can imagine for this artist is that her voice and and musical arrangements are sooooo melodic . . . this is music to instantly fall in love with, none of that "growing on you" junk. Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars blown away.......2004-12-28

The first time I heard Kym was at the National Women's Music Festival in 2003. I was completely blown away by the power of this young woman's voice, not to mention her aptitude in playing guitar. Her voice is like rich coffee and her lyrics are so accessible that I felt like she was singing about my life. She demonstrates the ability to drive a song home in "Trouble" and express her lament about a dying love in "Mercury." Pick this album up...you're going to be seeing more of this woman!
