Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Sweeping the Spotlight Away.......2003-07-22

Sweeping the Spotlight Away is a Canadian Classic from a musician who helped put the Canadian industry on the map. This lp is loaded with songs about the average working joe. Good stories that will keep you singing along for years. Murray McLauchlan is not the most talented guitar player but he is a pure entertainer. The title track is excellent and in my opinion one of the best folk songs of all time. If you liked the song Farmers Song you should listen to this recording. To me it has been worth the wait to get it on CD. It is a Canadian Classic. Right up there with David Wiffen's Coast to Coast Fever.

5 out of 5 stars Canada's Bob Dylan.......1999-08-27

A fantastic Cd from the early 70's, the title track Sweeping the Spotlight Away is one of the best folk songs ever recorded, the Cd has many gems on it, anyone who has heard his most famous song "Farmers Song" and likes it, will definitely appreciate this Cd.
