Customer Reviews:
Great music for the kids, big and small in your life........2006-01-07
AS another reviwer wrote, big trouble is a bit better album, but this one still packs a punch of fun fammily entertainment.
We have had trout fishing in our collection long before we had kids. Once you go Trout fisning you'll never want to buy another stupid sugarly popular character Fad CD.
Not as Good as "Big Trouble", but still great.......2003-01-12
Compared to most others who write children's music (if you've seen the Wiggles, you know what I'm talking about), Trout Fishing in America writes songs that are smart and funny.
While this album isn't as good as "Big Trouble", there are several tracks that are quite good. "Boiled okra and spinach" will stay in your head for a while, and "18 wheels on a big rig" is just a trip. Ever heard anybody count to 18 in roman numerals? Quickly?
This album still receives 5 stars when compared to most other children's music. Even though "Big Trouble" is my favorite, we enjoy "Mine!" very much.
A Classic.......2000-04-08
I first heard the "Big Rig" song while cruising in another family's car. I was hooked instantly -what a total riot! The other songs are terrific too, and the Trouts are wonderful musicians and great lyricists - wry, silly and tender. Do yourself a favor - introduce yourself, your family or just about anyone to the Trouts. This is one 'kids' CD that will not make you gag when you hear it. Get it - you won't be disappointed.
Feel-Good-Silly music that will make you tap your feet!.......2000-03-30
I have this and about 3 other albums from Trout...and I have no children. This music always puts a smile on my face and helps me deal with the ride home from work! This is definately a children's album, but if you can hand over your maturity, sing this at the top of your lungs....you will DEFINATELY have fun! Be careful...you might start humming "Mine!" while your walking down the halls at work!
Great Children's Album.......1998-11-26
As a 10 year fan of Trout Fishing in America, I can unequivocally say that this is my favorite band of all time. I see them live whenever they come thru Texas. This album is a good childrens album, with lots of songs you can sing along with (even if you don't have kids).
If you are looking for more adult songs, check out "Who Are These People?", "Truth Is Stranger Than Fishing", or "Over the Limit".

Not my favorite album by TFIA, but very good.......2004-11-23
I definitely like inFINity better, but I have to say that my kids still adore this album, too.
Best Childrens Folk Group.......2004-05-24
I have heard this and all of Trout Fishings other Albums and My entire Family is nothing short of Entranced. Ezra and Keith are wonderful and their songs are nothing short of hillarious for children and adults alike. Look up their other albums too. Infinity, It's A Puzzle, Family Music Party, Mine!, Big Trouble, Reel Life, Who Are These People, Over The Limit, Truth Is Stranger than Fishin'. ENJOY!
The best.......2002-12-07
I love their music. My sons 7 and 10 have listened for years to their children's music. It is so fun. I even listen to it when the boys are not around. I recommend all of their CDs.
Why don't more people know about these guys?.......1999-12-11
For those of you who have never heard of this duo, you're missing something special. And if you're facing the possibility of going more than a "Wee" bit insane or turning into a "Mommana-maniac" if you hear some of the more well-known kids music one more time, TFIA is for you. Their original songs--some rock, some folk, (an occasional tango) and most just delightfully silly,--have helped us happily survive many long car rides. Buy the CD's- you won't be sorry. And if possible, see them perform live, it's a lot of fun.
Yet another Great Children's Album from TFIA.......1998-11-26

Album Description
"The Window" is one of the most talked about SACD's on the web. Recognized by industry audiophiles as a landmark achievement, its songwriting was voted Honorable Mention in the 2004 Billboard World Music Contest ("Freedom on the Freeway") and its surround mixes were part of the final nominations at the 2003 Surround Music Awards in Beverly Hills. Hybrid SACD plays on any CD player, Walkman, etc.
According to the Sony SACD Project team, 'The Window' is the very first hybrid multichannel SACD to be released by an independent (unsigned) arist anywhere in the world. Rave reviews at SA-CD.net, HighFidelityReview.com AudioAsylum forum and elsewhere on the net confirm the wide appeal of this recording.
Customer Reviews:
If you want to know what SACD is all about..........2006-06-17
...then get a SACD player and this SACD. Every time I queue it up in my 5 disc changer/player, even if I start doing something else in the interim, I stop and sit and smile for at least a song or two when this one comes up. David's voice and acoustic guitar, the supporting musicians, the clarity of the recording, the overall production of the album are second to none. Many, if not most, other SACD recordings are mixed into the SACD format either after being recorded before DSD/SACD format was invented or after being recorded on the more typical/standard studio equipment; a true DSD recording, such as this one, is still a rarity. If you're an acoustic music fan this one is a must have.

Customer Reviews:
More goodness from Mike Tiernan.......2005-10-22
In the interest of full disclosure, I went to college with Mike Tiernan. However, I want to be clear that this IS an unbiased review. I just received this CD today it took me a while to buy it after it came out.
Unlike Mike's previous CD, "Still Listening" this one has more instruments in it besides the guitar. Including some "plugged in" instruments. I do like the change, however, I do like the previous CD better for it's simplicity.
I think Michael has a great way of putting complex thoughts into music. His songs are not just ones to listen to for enjoyment, that is good, but they are also to meditate on. You can really learn something.
New and Fresh Ideas in Folk Songwriting........2005-06-10
Well if you are tired to listen to the usual folk music and you become open in listening something different in the folk panorama. Than Michael Tiernan's "Jumping In" latest CD release is for you.
The lyrics in the CD "Jumping In" go even deeper than the ones found in other folk singer/songwriters. The music show a realistic prospective of human life experiences.
The first song in the album it is called "Swim" and it is the perfect song to start a trip in your car, so you want to stop in a Motel on a country road just to use their pool and "Swim", because you are actually swimming through your life.
The second song is called "Slow Down" and by the time you got back in your car the song from a slow country ballad increases the pace like you are pushing more the accelerator even if the song it is saying "Slow Down". Nice contrast.
With the song "Child on your Floor" Michael Tiernan explore the inner Child Soul of a Man that loves his woman.
"This One, Not That One" it is a real overlook of our taste, our decisions and on how different we are, what makes us happy. Are "This One or That One" going to make a difference in being happy. Basically human we are never happy with anything. Beautiful. The saga continue with "Plasticity" which reinforce what it has been said in the previous song in a line that says "The Beauty Of The Real". So the CD it is like a story that begin and continue never making you feel tired.
The book closes it last page with the last song "The Other Side Of The World" that explore love. Love will survive that most difficult tasks, and love make us change until we have created another side of the world that no one knows.
Beautiful words and scraps of real life in this wonderful cd release by Michael Tiernan.
