About the Artist
Jonathan Coulton lives and writes music in Brooklyn NY. He also spends some time writing software in order to make money, and building robots in order to have robots.

Product Description
By turns hilarious and melancholy, rockin' and melodious, Jonathan Coulton's lovely ditties about vengeful nerds, ennui-afflicted clowns, partially-imagined historical figures, and devotees of a certain Swedish prefab furniture store are insanely clever without ever being too clever for their own good. They repeatedly lure you into laughing before suddenly breaking your heart. And the sick part is, you keep coming back. Coulton's is the voice of every spooky elementary school kid who could never quite keep his shirt tucked in or shoes tied; every lovelorn mason and mad scientist; every one of us who has ever sat despairingly on the floor, surrounded by parts of an Ikea endtable, weeping over our allen wrenches. (He also acquits himself beautifully in the ever-popular genre of odes to outdoor copulation.)

Smoking Monkey,Jonathan Coulton,Jonathan coulton,Well-crafted geek pop - hilarious but heartbreaking songs about clowns, masons and exhibitionists.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A great humble musician.......2006-10-25

I've seen him live twice in Camden, Maine (at the 2004 and 2006 Pop!Tech conferences) and he gets better everytime. His music is linked to our daily lives. He reminds me that we are what we are and not what we pretend to be. I strongly recommend his music.

5 out of 5 stars Jonathan Coulton is as creative as he is prolific.......2006-08-21

Jonathan Coulton's music is varied, fun and clever. It is a real departure from "All Our Songs Sound The Same by the "Mediocre Musicians Du Jour".

5 out of 5 stars He's he own genre.......2006-05-15

Just look at these song titles!! How can you resist hearing the lyrics? Jonathan Coulton is a singer/song writer you can listen to over and over again. He's he own genre.

5 out of 5 stars Funny, intelligent, melodious.......2006-03-22

What can I say? You have to listen to a few songs and you'll be hooked. Who else sings about being enslaved by robots and forced to work in a mine on an asteroid, but looking forward to Christmas?

I'll keep listening until he's so famous that the world knows him as JoCo.

5 out of 5 stars JC ROCKS!!!!!.......2005-12-02

As one of the few illiterate and under educated "coultinees" (the established religious followers of JC)I can not think of many things to say about Jesus Coulton other than he freaking rocks.
