"Sara And The Sea" is Tim Harrison's new & sixth release, influenced by the traditions yet which have Tim's inimitable stamp. It features eight great original tunes (including a stunning guitar instrumental), and one interpretation ('When I'm Gone' by Phil Ochs).

Joining Tim (who recorded, mixed and produced the album) are some other fine Canadian musicians: Paul Mills (Stan Rogers) on mandolin, Zeke Mazurek (Sylvia Tyson) on fiddle, Dennis Pendrith (Bruce Cockburn) on bass, Juno award winner Chris Whiteley on harmonica, and Liane de Lotbiniere providing harmony vocals.

The song themes vary from those of social and political import (as in 'Gonna Ride That Train', 'Prayer Watching'), to ones of a more personal nature (such as 'Ghosts On PEI'), all of which are seamlessly woven together by Tim's poetic lyrics, compelling vocals and great finger- and flat-picking.

Great Music from Elizabeth's time.......2002-09-13

This is an exceptional disc of music in height of popularity at
the court of Elizabeth I, and a bargan on the Naxos label(they
have several titles of early music available). The songs are all of high performance quality, and highly recomended to those interested in Elizabeth and her world. Several tracks for me stand out, including "Pour Down,You Pow'rs Divine", "Climb Not To High", and "Eliza, Her Name Gives Honour", this last composition written in celebration and honor of the queen, and beautifuly sung by Catherine King. The Rose Consort Of Viols are
also featured, the "grandfathers" of the modern bowed string
instruments were highly in vogue at the time for voice accompany or alone. For those with an interest in Elizabeth, or have seen the movie, this CD is highly recomended!

This Cd is another great CD by Tim Harrison. One of the best acts to come out from Canada in the last decade. Harrison takes the best from american folk, singer-songwriters stuff, irish and celtic music. The music flows as deep as the biggest lake, when violins, guitars and mandolins fill your room with a sound that will make you want to see the sea, and will fill your eyes with tears, you will remember everyone you ever loved, and love more the ones still alive. "And the sea gives up what is in each soul/ and the mountains and sky do the same/and whatever we lose/as the shoreline moves/can never be found again."

The notes of your life.......2005-02-06

This album is so beautiful. The chorus truly sounds like angels singing your life in the most honest notes I've ever heard. Many times I have cried listening to this album because it was intensely emotional. The sound of the chorus...the background of oceans crashing... you can almost invision the sun setting on an elegant landscape by the sea while you face the oncoming wind. Recommend Track 1, 6, and 8.
