I just went to a Theresa Griffith concert on 3/10 & 3/11/06 in Santa Maria, CA!(I had never heard of Theresa or her music.)
I think I purchased almost every CD she had at the concert!!!!

Fantastic. Different as I remember foim initial release in Australia in early 80s. I think many cuts were made for political reasons.

Hey there, fans of Strauss and Reiner, this is a phenomenal recording no doubt, but I have to warn people that this Hybrid SACD doesn't sound as good in a standard CD player as the earlier version of this recording.

Of course if you have a SACD player, you should buy this thing, but if you are like most people who have standard stereos, the original release will sound superior in your normal CD player than the Hybrid SACD. Trust me on this one, I am a perfectionist and an audiophile.

Barnstorming in the Concert Hall!.......2005-12-21

These performances are amazing! The soundstage simply disappears out both sidedoors of the auditorium. If you don't like singing the Dance of the Seven Veils is so good it justifies the cost. One of the great performances of all time!

Hair raising Strauss!!.......2005-08-05

This is a great issue in this SACD series. Borkh has just the right sound for Elektra and Salome. Reiner backs her up perfectly. The CSO is in top form. Listen to the brass and you can be in heaven or hell.(Depends on your taste for his operas.)
Absolutely outstanding. The DSD remastering is phenominal!!

Rod MacDonald Deserves Recognition.......2004-05-21

I have been listening to Rod MacDonald ever since hearing him sing "Coming of the Snow" on a compilation disc. I was impressed by the vocals and lyrics on Rod's ensuing releases. Recognition takes those talents a step further, displaying polished guitar playing and cutting lyrics true to the likes of great folk artists. Rod wittingly comments on people and ideologies, ranging from Vincent Van Gogh (Dr. Gachet) to the terrorists who flew into the WTC. (My Neighbors in DelRay) Rod's songs are powerful and compelling, tied together by an exceptional voice, his use of the harmonica and a tightly knit band. Any true folk lover who listens to these seventeen songs will agree it is indeed time for this talented person to receive his due recognition.

don't buy this.......2002-10-23

Torn in Two is good, but if you want these cuts, just get "Soli Deo Gloria" & download the rest. If you like Point of Recognition, get "Day of Defeat" -- NOT "Refresh Renew" which is really unintense. I assumed the Cast In Stone on this would be the same as on their mp3 page -- deathmetalish hardcore with barbaric ...-you vocals -- but instead, it is this weak, generic fake-hardcore ...vox. Very bad. Definitely not "tough-guy." On the same note, don't get "Life On Trial." More of the same. If you can get your hands on their new demo, get that & only that.The only really good thing about this is the P.O.R. track feat. Dave Quiggle from xDisciplex A.D., & even on that, the production ...like the rest of old P.O.R.Save your money.

Buy it Now.......2007-01-07

This is one of the best pop-punk CD's ever released. The songwriting is great, vocals are tremendous, and the production is mostly flawless. Kind of like Allister, Treble Charger, and Lit mixed together. If you like Starting Line, Allister, Sum 41, sr-71, Lit, MxPx, etc. you owe it to yourself to buy this disc. When I play this in my car, all the girls ask me "who is this? they are really good." If the band reads this PLEASE record a follow-up!!!!!

I bought Lucky 7 only by listening to a couple of the samples and reading reviews. I definitely have not regretted my decision at all. "California Girl" is the obvious single, but I also really like the song "Runaway". This CD might take a few run-throughs to really grow on you, but give it a chance and you WILL NOT be disappointed!

After seeing Lucky 7 live touring with Something Corporate @ nottingham Rescue Rooms (also AMAZING) i decided to look for the album. The song "California Girl" was the song which i LOVED. After hearing it i knew that these guys were good! You rock!

i got bored.......2006-02-23

i snagged this cd in 1997 based on a glowing review. after hearing it i was disappointed--i'd expected something much different, and better.
since then, i've played it a few more times, off and on, always with the same result. today i played it and thought better of it than i expected, so that's new.
unfortunately, this album is clearly an independent (meaning lower budget) version of front 242 and kmfdm, and is kind of boring. the synth sounds were a bit cheesy to me when i got it, and have not improved with age. while the programming is accomplished, it doesn't mean the songs are well written, and everything seems to go on much longer than one would expect, or like. maybe you'll like it, but i'm just bored.

... this brilliant cd is by far the best M&tF album to date and i'll bet ever!!! this cd is like a 2 part journey through space and time. the first few tracks are very melodic and have somewhat of a classical/baroque stlye to them.yes the singing is very vocoded,but not like an angry anti-government atypical "industrial" group. in some tracks the vocals resonate and echo like when you throw a stone into a lake and watch the ripple. the last half of the cd is more themed with space and destruction.also a bit more upbeat. i have had to rebuy this cd twice after constant play in my cd player. not a bad track on the entire album. no fillers.i can't really pick out a club friendly track on here, because this album flows together like one long journey. the tracks sometimes bleed into each other. i own every M&tF album,and i have to say the 2 most recent were very disappointing. buy any end every m&tF cd from Algorythms back, you won't be sorry. i hope this helps :)

Not really that great of an industrial album, some of the beats are cool but there are really no lyrics in the songs, and where there are lyrics they get drowned out by distortion and beat. Don't waste your money.

i never heard of any of their songs until recently when i bought this album and i was surprised how good it was. it reminds me of some of leaetherstrips stuff. get this album, its freakin dark as hell and hell of has good beats

I will always love the hardcore and entrancing beats of the dassing bro's but this album really shocked me,I could listen to this album on repeat over and over......good work

Listening to Pure Light is like having a giant lighthouse in my CD player. So full of hope and beautiful music to bring light to any household or place. Enjoyed and loved the white dress and sword which are in the music to fight for peace by spreading more of this loving strong music, loving the chance to hear love expressed in by a number one player of the lovely flute sound along with enriching background backup.
