What a wonderful cd! I have listened to both "Looking for Butter Boy" and "Sensual Being" and was completely blown away by both of them. The testimony that Archie gives on the suffering of aboriginals are a cry out for justice. Being a black American from Texas and having visited Queensland, Australia talking, drinking, with aboriginals whom I know as friends and treat as family I understand what Archie was singing about. This is a must by cd.

Whereas most musicians decline in their artistry as the decades pass, there are sensual/spiritual beings like Archie Roach, whose artistry is so infused by his personal life and his people's lives, that the art becomes more intricate and nuanced. Succintly: Archie is maturing in his middle years and should become a mystical force as he continues his artistic development.

"Sensual Being" continues and further develops the biographical (of Australia's aboriginal people) and autobiographical themes that began in "Charcoal Lane" and persisted in "Jamu Dreaming" and "Looking for Butterboy." Yet Archie is getting older, and his perspective in these songs is that of a wise "elder" singing personally to his family and people while also singing to us universal listeners. I recommend that people put all four albums in a cd carousel and play the songs in random order.

Malcom Burn produced "Looking for Butterboy," yet it's odd that "Sensual Being" has more of the famous Burn/Lanois/Eno atmospheric/ambient sound. These songs resonate lyrically and musically!
