Absolutely Wonderful!.......2003-10-01

The mailperson brought my long awaited and longed for copy of Chris & Holly this afernoon. Being a major fan of both women, I knew I was going to like it. But I have to tell you something-I love this new cd! Holly's voice, always beautiful and strong, is even lovelier when meshed with Chris's. I've been playing it over and over and it's oh so good. You won't regret purchasing this cd.

I bought this CD shearly because of my great respect for Holly Near, her music, her integrity and her politics. I'd never heard Cris Williamson, only of her, and didn't really want Holly's CD "cluttered" with another voice.

This is one of those special instances where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Cris and Holly together are so powerful. Their voices blend so well in places that they make one sound. The music of each compliments the other, and the collaberations are just about perfect. They are still "remarkably fearless" as they offer an alternative to violence and war through the beautiful lyrics of their own music and those covers that they chose to include.

John Buccino's piano is the perfect compliment to these voices and songs. He only adds to the whole and never overwhelms. Everything about this CD pleases me, right down to the liner notes. I highly recommend it.
