I bought this CD in college when Christine played for us. I still love it. The songs are quite fun and smart. A great purchase for playing at the office or during dinner with soft sounds and lively tunes.

This is a fabulous collection of songs that are not afraid to stake out their own interesting territory beyond the typical borders of the folk/singer-songwriter genre. "Jazz" and "If I Were Me" have that slightly skewed insight that makes Christine's live shows so much fun, and "Breeze" is a gently powerful ballad with that swirl of wistfulness and hope, just like life. This is a wonderful album that I still listen to all the time, years after I first got it.

This is one of my favorite CDs, and perhaps my favorite song on it. Wistful, powerful, fun - Christine Kane is a great artist! Similar to Alanis Morisette, but wiser, more uplifting, more fun!

Christine Kane displayed her skills on her debut cd,"This Time Last Year",but on her new release, "A Thousand Girls", she displays her soul, in a musical tapestry that can only be described as honest and brilliant.Her songwriting skills are without question and her voice is from the depths of life,tracing gently around the heart.This cd is labeled folk, but it's for anyone who appreciates great music,and it stands beside Mary Chapin Carpenter's"Stones In The Road" and Kim Richey's debut, as one of the all-time greatest albums! And like Chapin and Kimba, Christine Kane proves that the pen can indeed be mightier than the sword.
