About the Artist
Mary Beth Maziarz has been creating and performing her original music since she was in high school in Ottawa, Illinois. While in college at Northwestern, coffeehouses and school events eventually evolved into regular club gigs and well-attended concerts. Drawn out west after college, Mary Beth headed to Park City, Utah, where she founded Musaic Records. While juggling three jobs, she started recording her first album, "Something Real." The album received strong responses and regional support, eventually leading to her other albums, the swingy "Snowed In" holiday CD, the lush, beautiful "Supernatural" -- MB's most fully developed pop album, and the mellow, moving, fan-driven album, "A More Perfect World."

Mary Beth appeared on the national music scene in the fall of 1999, when her song "Hold On" was featured prominently on the season premiere of "Dawson's Creek." The show's official website was flooded with enthusiastic responses to the song, and more placements of MB's music followed. Several songs later, Mary Beth has been called "The Voice of Dawson's Creek" by Executive Producer Paul Stupin, and was thrilled to perform as herself in an "on-camera appearance" in an episode of the show airing January 31, 2001.

Mary Beth's recordings can also be heard on the soundtracks for "Broken Hearts Club - A Romantic Comedy" and "Dawson's Creek - Volume 2."

Every song gets to the core. The vocals are timeless and so gut wrenching. The music is in a word..... beautiful. It's hard to find a c.d. with more than a few good songs. This one is satisfying and soul fulfilling through and through. HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!!!

gorgeous remakes of 'daydream believer' and 'tracks of my tears' eight other piano and violin backed ballads make this album a unique purchase. If you're partial to Jewel, Tori Amos, and Tara MacLean, you will most probably adore this album.

A More Perfect CD.......2001-09-05

Like everyone else, I was first introduced to Mary Beth's music through Dawson's Creek. This fact causes me no end of misery - I feel that someone as talented as Mary Beth should be on the best selling list simply because of the phenomenal quality of her music.

Once I'd ordered A More Perfect World, I sat around for 16 agonising days waiting for it to arrive. The minute it arrived I tore open the box and couldn't wait for the drive home from work so I could begin to play it.

Whilst the song Daydream Believer has received the most publicity of any song on this album, it was the hauntingly beautiful Souvenirs and Waiting for a Sign which captivated me most. Mary Beth seems to take emotions and thoughts we all experience and create lyrics which are sometimes wistful, sometimes hopeful but always chillingly accurate. Her fabulous voice coupled with her simple but beautiful piano accompaniment means that her songs always strike a chord within me.

Mary Beth says that these songs are her "spare songs", the ones that show her heart on her sleeve more than most. Perhaps thats what I like best about this album. In any case, this is sure to be one of my favourite CD's of all time. I only wish there wasn't several continents between where I live and where Mary Beth performs so that I might see her play live.

I also discovered Mary Beth thanks to Dawson's creek...which is on air in France too.... She has one of the most beautiful voice i have ever heard and each time i am listenning any of her songs ...it makes me fell emotionnally touched and vulnerable ...which make me cry sometimes due to the "true words" she uses in her songs and the melody which are always adapted to the song meaning...

I was alone for the evening when this cd arrived. I opened the case in my pajamas, placed the album in my player, and sat down to listen. I was staring into space, feeling a bit depressed, and then the music started. After only a few lines, the tears started rolling.

These songs are the best you will find - the smoothest vocals with the most original and powerful lyrics. They will make you smile, laugh, cry, and feel good to be alive. That sounds so cheesy, but it's just true. Good music makes you feel so many things - reminds you of high school loves and of all of the good that is in and around you.

This album is my favorite from Mary Beth, although Supernatural is a very close second. You'd think that only ten songs would be a short album, but each song is so good that you really can't ask for more! Every one of these songs has something about it that makes it special and powerful. I love them all, and that is rare for me. That's what makes this album the best. There isn't one song that is out of place or bland.

Great CD - Received Damaged.......2007-06-27

This CD was to be used for my May 19,2007 bride for her ceremony music.
The CD arrived damaged and Amazon did not have anymore in stock.
Thank God for an understanding bride.

Disappointing.......2004-10-31

A mostly music compilation that sounds like a creative mixing genius put it together. Saddly, the wedding entrance march is sung in German (I think). Some of the music is a little "thin" instead of being "full bodied". The wedding exit march will put listeners to sleep. I wish listening samples had been available or I would have saved the money.
