One of the best songwriters in folk music today.

Product Description
Some years ago, highlights from Bill Staines' early recordings were collected onto two successful CDs titled "The First Million Miles Volumes I and II." However, for more than a decade now, Bill Staines has released his warm and wonderful CDs on the much admired Red House Records label and this stunning collection gathers together outstanding tracks from these more recent years. Nearly all of the songs are Staines originals or his unique take on a traditional song, the one exception being his excellent cover of Mary McCaslin's "Prairie in the Sky." Recorded either in New England or the Texas Hill Country, these great songs bear witness to the fact that Bill Staines is one of contemporary folk's finest songwriters, bar none.
