One could only imagine my excitement when two of my favorite bands, Waterdeep & 100 Portraits, joined together to make a worship album; I wasn't disappointed. The "First Circle" was an amazing experience, but it didn't end there. 100 Portraits gave us another Circle, which was also good but not as good as the first. Now, with the "Third Circle," Ben & Robin Pasley (100 Portraits) have joined thier incredible talent and rhythms with Kate Hurley and Berry & Michelle Patterson to record the most incredible worship album I have ever heard. The songs are extremely intimate as only guitars and hand percussion instruments are used, but they are also filled with life, moving the listener into the presence of God. This is a must have album! Finally, some inovative Christian music that is setting standards instead of simply copying redundant mainstream junk.

Yes, like you, I was hesitant to purchase the third installment of Enter The Worship Circle. Yes, like me, you will purchase this album and not be disappointed.

The First installment blew me away (four stars). The Second was good and had it's moments but was redundant in places to the first (3 stars). The Third installment might actually be as good, if not better than the first, because it manages to match the first in emotional punch and lyrical beauty yet retains a freshness it shouldn't have as a sequel but does.

If this album doesn't make you get up and dance and sing along then you probably have died and NOT gone to heaven.

This CD was mailed to me right here in the middle of a stressful time in art college- I have escaped into it every evening, and even brought it to listen to in my studio. I am an avid follower of the Pasley's, and their hearts, and the hearts of the other people on this album are so sincere and beautful. Tracks 5, 11, and 14 are my favorites!

Even though Bethany Curve continued to follow their self-described credo -"atmosphere arrangement sound layering noise," the band's third album "You Brought Us Here," simply doesn't measure up to their first two ("Skies A Crossed Sky" and "Gold"). Sure, it has the one great song "Long Beach," which is clearly one of the band's best (and according to IPod, their most downloaded track). Indeed "Long Beach" has its sublime moments. But besides "Silver" which, to my mind, is basically another version of "Long Beach," the album kind of meanders along with gloomy atmospheric music that becomes downright tedious. Some of the tracks might have benefitted from some drastic editing, but it's hard to say.

As an atmospheric meditative exercise, "You Brought Us Here," isn't bad. And it does have that one great song. But I don't think it's comparable to Bethany Curve's first two albums which I like quite a bit more and find much more exciting.

I was in Tower Records in SF last week and heard the first track, "Long Beach" over the PA system and bought the CD immediately. The best I can describe it is a giant wave of distorted tones that together make incredible melodies. Not for the fragile minded. Some very moody and beautiful stuff. Going from one song to the next is like chapters in a book. Each song has a different story to tell.

What else can I add to what's already been written? If you like space rock (like Spiritualized), shoegaze/dream pop (like Slowdive) and/or musical introspection, then this CD will blow your mind! Through the beautiful background noise pierces transcendent reverberating guitars that will take you away to blissful splendour. I've been reading a lot of Jungian books lately, and this was the perfect soundtrack, so to speak, for Jung's ideas on the archetypes of the unconscious and the mythologies of the mind. Your imagination will flow; creativity will abound. True avant-garde rock. Buy this!

Yes sir, they certainly did. I recently attended a Bethany Curve concert in southern California and it was quite a treat. I expected to hear the typical "shoegaze" sound that thousands of bands are exploiting right now (do they realize that they all sound the same?). Anyway, Bethany Curve's presentation of music is beyond the ordinary "shoegaze" sound. Their music incorporates a unique dash of moodiness in every song. Something that is just not done correctly by anyone else. "You Brought Us Here" presents that moodiness is a great way. This record has a particular rawness that is perfect for their style. It's a rawness that grabs you and doesn't let go. I highly recommend the songs Long Beach and Airplanes Down.

This is Bethany Curve's best effort to date. The CD is rich with lush soundscapes and melodies topped off with hints of well captured noise.

I was introduced to Sissy Goodhouse's music in 1999. Her haunting voice vibrated right through to the core of my being. Her a cappella style is accompanied by drums, sounds of nature or nothing at all, and that is fine, because she doesn't need it. The melody of her voice carries you away.

The album "The Third Circle" is mix of original compositions and traditional Lakota songs and is a tribute to songs of the Wicaglata (woman singers) and is primarily in the Lakota language, although there are some English explanations that proceed some of the songs of this mix of original compositions and traditional songs

The first track on this album "Women's Veteran Song" is performed by Joe Flying By. It is a poetic speech set to drum that honors the Wicaglata.

My personal favorite is "Seventh Generation" composed by Cedric Goodhouse, Sr. and performed by Sissy. It reflects the continual passing down process of their culture.

Some might argue that many of the songs sound the same. This is true. Many of the melodies are similar and it is hard to distinguish between one song and another, especially if you don't speak the language. However, after training your ear to the slight differences in the pitch and vocabulary, you will have no problem distinguishing which song is which.

The sleeve allows you a taste of what each song is about. It displays the first verse of many of the songs, first in Lakota then in English.

This album was released in 1994 by Makoche Music/BMI and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this recording goes to the Sitting Bull Camp Sun Dance.

This is the best piece of Native American Music in my collection. Sissy Goodhouse has a wonderful voice, strong and mellotic. A truely wonder rendition of Lakota music.

Tina Lear is a talented writer and an expressive singer. I first heard her sing in person in a small theater on an island not too distant from Seattle, Washington. The experience turned me into a fan. This CD is one of my faves.

Tina's lyrics are very honest and personal. Add to that her wonderful and creative music and piano playing and you have a very enjoyable CD. I especailly like the beautiful music on Deep Green Sea and One Candle. If you like Janis Ian you'll lOVE Tina Lear.
