I bought this cd because when I was a child, my brothers and sisters and I put the song "Beautiful City" on the record player and danced to it over and over again. We loved "Beautiful City" and my sister has been looking for it for years. I was so happy to find this cd online. I surprised her with it on Christmas Eve and it was great to watch her face when we played the cd and surprised her.

Brings Back Memories.......2007-01-15

When I was a kid, the album "Christmas with the Christies" was one of the ones that my parents had in their small collection of records. Ever since I've been an adult, I've thought back to certain songs on that album during each Christmas Season, and wished I could hear them again. This year, I just decided on a lark to see if anyone had made a CD version of that album, and was THRILLED to see that they had. In addition, they had gone one step further, and had added a second Christmas album of this great folk group onto the CD.

My favorite song on the CD is "Christmas Card", for nostalgic reasons. However, all of the songs are well done. The crimp will tell you that the first album was made when the Christies were at their peak, in about 1961 or 1962. They were the back-up group on the Andy Williams Show, and were very popular at the time. By the time the next album came out, things had changed dramatically in the music world, and folk music had become more more rock-oriented. The album had a rather different feel to it.

If you like 60's folk music... traditional and folk-rock... you'll really enjoy this CD.
