With the release of his CD single "Miss California," young Dante Thomas shows himself to be a talent worth watching. He has an appealing voice -- a compelling mix of boyish charm and soulful depth, with just a hint of an edge. The song is a catchy dance-pop number with effective percussive accents.

The CD single has two versions of the song: a radio edit and a rap remix. I disliked the rap remix, with its disgusting, sexist rap lyrics ("move like a pimp [. . .] choose my women like an NFL draft"). Hopefully, Dante's future work will not disrespect women like that.

I first heard this song in France, and I still havent heard it here in California, which is kind of ironic. It is a great, upbeat song and I hope it comes on the radio soon!!

Best Dance Song of 2001.......2002-12-19

I was given this CD single with another album that I had bought through the mail. I had never heard of Dante Thomas before this, so I put the CD in and listened. The first thing I noticed was the heavy beat. Then that catchy chorus started playing and I was hooked. This song is very catchy and will make you get up and dance. I have since checked out the entire album and this song still stands above the rest. I highy recommend that you catch this single. If you like dance music with a salsa feel, this is for you!!

where was he before? this single is just awesome!!!it's one of my top 10 R&B for the year 2001. as a newcomer, he has done it just like craig david did but somehow a little bit better for me though! did u guys know that this single "miss california" was recorded in one take? this is the real first version he recorded and we got it! i bet he has a bright future and can't wait for te album!

I absolutly LOVE this song! It has a really unique sound and makes you want to hit repeat over and over. This is a tasteful dance song that'll definatly get you up and dancing! So get it and enjoy it- I KNOW I do!
