Jimjam, brings together some of the best R&B, Soul, and Jazz players from across the atlantic. Jim Mullen, who's soulful guitar work is evident on the first cut, "Olio", which you'll find to be toe tapping and hypnotizing as well. The fluid movement between players like Pino Pallidino and Hamish Stuart, shows their real affection for music that both moves your mind and body. Listen to "Funkin on Sunset" and "Dreamtime", you'll hear the real embodiment of soul and jazz. This CD is one that will stay in my player whether at home relaxing or in the car, dancing to the infectious beat. If you've liked Average White Band, Joe Sample, George Benson, and Ronnie Jordan, then you'll love JIMJAM!

If you've been searching for the perfect combination of jazz, funk, and soul this CD will fulfill your expectations and cause you to groove all night. You'll recognize the lithe, nimble, guitar playing by Jim Mullen, along with Pino Pallidino's signature bass lines which are so solid and infected with soul backbeats you'll think this CD came out of Motown or Philly. The opening tune, "Olio" sets the tone with the kind of beat that will stay with you for days, "Funkin on Sunset" will remind you of the rhythm sections behind the Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway era. Combine this with Hamish Stuart's rhythm guitar and background vocals, you'll dance, groove, and have pleasant nights with this in your player. Although, it's an import, this CD will be well worth your investment. It's tough to beat two releases by Hamish Stuart in one year. Let's groove to Jimjam.
