strip mining the depths of human depression..........2004-02-11
crowbar....the orphan offspring of a town best known for it`s brothels, magick and MARDIS GRAS...though i have never been there i feel i`ve traversed the dark, dank underbelly through this album...spent time with my face crushed beneath the ORWELLIAN steel toed boot of oppression and futility....cut from the same ragged, kerosene and vomit stained rag as fellow deviants EYEHATEGOD....crowbar plays ST VITUS and TROUBLE to that wrecking crew`s MELVINS/BLACK FLAG concoction.....it`s worthless to mention stand out songs on this release,as all leave you pummeled and weeping tears of vinegar laden blood...TRVE SVFFERING MANIFESTED AS seething slithering SLVDGE....this is the soundtrack to filthy backroom amputations and the film score playing to your maggot infested shivering junky life....
Great Album, But Other Bands Are Better.......2002-07-18
Out of the many Crowbar albums I own, this one has to stand out as the one I listen to the most. It's an older album now, and it still has a lot of originality to it. Plus, I feel that the song 'No More Can We Crawl' is perhaps one of the best Crowbar songs to date, and I made sure to give it plenty of air time on the radio when DJing at a radio station in Nashville, TN. This band has changed and matured over the years, yet has also managed not to lose that essence that made them so appealing way back when Phil Anselmo (of Pantera fame, for those of you living in a tree for the past few decades) produced their first album. All of Crowbar's music is intense, but this album stands out among all the rest.
Crushing Metal.......2002-05-04
This CD is absolutely SONIC. I love this CD, it will wring you out and leave you bruised and battered. Want to forget all the [stuff] that is bothering you and escape into heavy metal euphoria? This CD will do it, and it is great for first time Crowbar buyers because it probably has more variety than any other Crowbar CD. It has more up-tempo songs than other Crowbar CDs, and actually thrashes in places. And of course, there's a few slow, crushing songs for which Crowbar is famous. The drumming on this CD is the best of any Crowbar in my opinion, lots of great tom tom runs. In places the drumming steals the song. Also, there are some heavy breaks where the guitar stops and the bass just pounds out the rhythm. The vocals are a bit rough as usual; bellowing and powerful, but not death metal. There's actually some places where Kirk sings "normal" and sounds good doing it. If you like very heavy metal, and don't mind it slowed down a bit below speed metal, this CD is essential. I personally believe that no metal collection is complete without at least one Crowbar CD in the same way it's not complete without at least one Mettallica, Slayer, Megadeth, or Pantera. Nobody sounds like Crowbar - it just doesn't get any heavier than this - SONIC. Buy this CD!!! For some reason this offering doesn't have clips you can listen to, but there is another one that has a big clock on it, and you can listen to clips on that one, so do yourself a favor and go to the other listing and listen to the clips, I swear, this is some of the best metal you will ever find!!!
crowbar in charge.......2000-05-18
This is a heavy album, it aint to joke. Just another great band that are from New Orleans. It represent the power of heavy metal that is known to be created there. This album has some unreal heavy riffs, great lyrics, and a drummer who likes to hit hard. The song that is the best is Numb Sensitive. Some songs are slower and affect the fast pace of songs like The Only Factor and Lack of Tolerance, but all songs are good if you like the heavy stuff. So buy it and clear a space to head bang.
original and intense....best crowbar record.......1999-10-19
This is one of my favorite albums....I got it in '95 and I still listen to it. Its beautiful, intense and emotionally searching. These guys have a profound ability to articulate emotions that defy expression and that just about every other hardcore/metal band cannot even begin to understand. The playing is tight and the guitar is huge, warm and oh so ever grinding. The drums are among the best drum sounds Ive ever heard on an album (Im a drummer) and they are played incredibly.....with intelligent, appropriate and pummeling combinations, innovative beats (when you thought 4/4 has gotten tired and boring) which provide a pounding train of sound to back up the relentless and incredibly memorable vocals. These guy are inspired pros. This, people....is art.

Very Heavy Sludge.......2004-03-24
This is probably Crowbar's best album. Kirk and gang hammer out solid heavy tunes that will blow you away.
If you like old Sabbath buy this CD. The awesome cover art by DiSilvio tells it all...Time Heals Nothing!
Heavy, punishing sludge.......2003-01-21
Crowbar is heavy as hell. This CD is a bruiser, but it is actually beautiful in places as well. This is my first Crowbar CD, though I'd previously heard Kirk playing with Down and even seen him live with them. The Vocals are absolutely outstanding, and I'd equate the rest of the band's sound a cross between prime Black Sabbath and Alice in Chains, only much heavier. Anyway, this is a great all around album and one any serious metalhead should give a listen to. I think it might even be the cure for some kiddies who think angst-rock like Staind and Linkin Park is where it's at. Crowbar is toxic Louisianna sludge that absolutely crushes pop driven wannabes like that. I only gave the album 4 stars because their slow, plodding doom is something I can't enjoy quite as often as most of my other albums. But if I'm in the right mood, or just haven't listened to it in a day or two, Time Heals Nothing provides a great listen.
