Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars 7 Seconds begin experimenting.......2005-09-06

7 Seconds have always been a favorite hardcore punk band for me. I enjoy listening to Skins, Brains & Guts almost all the time, and other albums such as Walk Together, Rock Together or The Crew always kept me going.

When 7 Seconds became poppy and started putting out albums like New Wind or Soulforce Revolution, however, I was greatly disappointed.

This album, however, shows that 7 Seconds are willing to experiment. And for the better! This may not be the hardcore punk fury of Skins, Brains & Guts, but it reaches a new peak of creativity: That being 7 Seconds having the courage to put out a really nice heavy metal album. It could have been the heavy influence that Kevin Seconds' side-project Drop Acid had that made this noise, or it could have been that there were one or more of Kevin's fellow band members being metalheads. But for whatever reason, I'm glad 7 Seconds did this. It's all pretty much slow, heavy, searing stuff. Pick this up if you're into grunge, heavy metal, or would like to hear 7 Seconds doing something different.

1 out of 5 stars The worst 7 Seconds album?.......2004-10-07

I haven't heard every 7 Seconds album released, but this must be the worst one (I hope). I can't even listen to this. It sounds like a bad version of grunge or something, and the songs are really badly written. Treat yourself with a good 7 Seconds album like The crew, Walk togerther rock together, New wind or even Soulforce revolution (a good poppy album) instead.

3 out of 5 stars Metal? Yes, a 7-Seconds metal album..........2001-01-12

What happens when the main songwriter, Kevin Seconds, steps back and lets the rest of the band write more of the music? You get a weird grunge/metal album. What's weird about it is the lyrics are still the same-type Kevin Seconds style, upbeat and positive, but the music sounds like it was written by Alice in Chains. Their are a few highlights like Shizzy and Reuben Said, but overall, this is not their best album.

Those interested in 7 Seconds should check out Walk Together Rock Together or Good to Go.

5 out of 5 stars love these guys!!!.......1998-10-31

the first time that i listened to 7 seconds was in high school. a friend of mine took me to see them at the 7th street entry in minneapolis. fell in love. since that time in the winter of 1988-89 i have seen the guys 6 other times. how can you not listen and like the music is beyond me. they work harder at music than most bands ever. take a listen, feel the music, But above all just listen...
