Customer Reviews:
the greatest underground punk band.......1999-07-27
this band kicks serious a**! It is not an everyday thing to hear a really good eastern band. Fast, melodic, punk with powerful yet real lyrics.
Good........1999-07-02
This was a good Cd. Don't expect anything grounf breaking though. A good listen none the less. NOTE: Buy this dirctly through Hopeless records... Its cheaper.
not as good as powerbait.......1999-03-25
i like powerbait better. the singers voice in this new one isnt as good. it sounds like he is sick. some songs are good but `many of them sound the same. i am not japanese
KISH! KISH! KISH!.......1998-07-29
Good new stuff. They aimed at an older crowd than 'Powerbait' and did it well. They grew out of the bubble gum punk and landed a step up. Some great tunes on this one.
Not a dull moment!.......1998-07-14
Chris Brenner and company's latest release, "The Promise of an Uncertain Future", is overflowed with enough harmonies, playful lyrics, humor, and punked-out guitar riffs that leaves not a dull moment behind. With a sound reminiscent of bands like Blink-182, MxPx, Samiam, and Descendents, this band can stir up any audience with a delightful sing-a-long to it's catchy trend. Tracks to check out most definitely are "Picture Perfect", "Pieces", "Day Off", "Board Games" and "Living on a Couch".

Customer Reviews:
Excellent Thrash record !!!.......2007-07-06
Excellent release by these Seattle thrashers. You would've swore thesed guys were from the Bay Area.
Their sound comes close to that of the Bay Area thrash scene of the late 80's.
production is very good and the vocals are very similar to Chuck Billy of Testament.
For a three piece, these guys play some pretty complex thrash.
Absolutely Perfect Thrash.......2005-11-14
Forced Entry pretty much cleared the deck of competition when this album came out. While not attaining the commercial success that befell many of their contemporaries they certainly upped the ante musically. This album has more hooks than a tackle box and more changes per song than some bands had in an entire record. Not that bands after them didn't go above and beyond, but not many in the thrash landscape of 89 were as good. Yes, it's at this point where you grasp your head and start screaming the names of all the bands you think ruled more...relax, it's my opinion and I think they own, you don't have to. Their career was sadly short (many of the best are), only releasing another full length after this and one EP prior to this. I was fortunate enough to catch them live with Sacred Reich and Obituary and they totally delivered live as well.
HIGHLY recommended for any thrash fan. If you can find it there is a version out that contains "The Shore" EP. You may have to have a "RELAPSE" to find it, but it's worth the hunt! ;)
Best Thrash album of 1989! Supremely underappreciated.......2005-06-04
Mountlake Terrace Washington was where it all started in 1985 when Tony Benjamins, Colin Mattson, and Brad Hull formed the mighty Forced Entry. Seattle didn't have a metal scene at the time and I guess they decided to change that (do the Accussed and Coven count?)
The first listen to this album is breathtaking. The sound is great despite the low budget production. The thunderous bass errie trills, slides and power chords give this album a truly original sound in a time where everyone was trying to rip off Slayer (Blood Feast?), Metallica, or Possessed (the Florida scene?). I don't understand why a previous reviewer knocked this album and called it "generic". This person was either not alive and definitely not part of the scene when this came out, simply because if you have a broad comparison base of albums of this time period to compare this to you couldn't call this "generic".
Thrash was foreved changed after this, with not a bad song on here, and the overthetop bass in the end this was the band who you would have thought good things would have come from later. Unfortunately there was only one other full length album after this one.
The bass is probably the best part of the trio with it's quick playing, slides and thick tone. The guitars are wonderful too, with power chords that are really heavy and meld into the bass lines and with errie solos and harmonics that give this album a very polished feel. The drumming is good, and the tom rolls lift the general atmosphere of the sound. The songs are all incredibly well written.
This is probably the most(?) underappreciated album of the genre. Just shows you what idiots metalheads are, you give them something good/technically proficient and they just shrug. Didn't the same thing happen to Coroner?
This album is just waiting to be fully appreciated.
perfected thrash at its finest.......2003-07-02
Forced Entry were three guys who you could tell lived, breathed, & ate thrash music. Couple that with extreme talent and you have one of 2 (as above,so below) of the most classic thrash albums ever. The guitar is insane on this disc, near virtuoso material. If you enjoyed any part of the San Francisco Scene in the late 80's (Forbidden, Vio-lence,Testament) you should enjoy this, technically the afformentioned bands lean more toward speed metal but none the less this thrash & speed work well together. Get it, if you can find it!
