Album Description
Long awaited third volume of alternative mixes/takes and rare live tracks from Ian Gillan's post-Deep Purple band. Highlights include a very rare 8 1/2 minute 'live' studio version of 'Smoke On The Water' which is highly collectable having never appeared on CD before, it originally appeared as a b-side to the 45 'Vengeance'. Includes a 10 track bonus CD called 'For Those Gillan Fans Only'. The first 5,000 copies will be numbered as a limited edition. Bonus tracks, 'Higher And Higher', 'Your Mother Was Right', 'Red Watch', 'Abbey Of Thelema', 'Trying To Get To You', 'Come Tomorrow', 'Dragons Tongue', 'Post Fade Brain Damage', 'Egg Timer (Vice Versa)' and 'The Harry Lime Theme'. 2000 release. Slimline double jewel case.Customer Reviews:
More oddities.......2001-04-13
Disc 1 (76:19) features a collection of non-album tracks, a few of which have appeared as bonus tracks on the first release of "Glory Road" on CD. Of greater interest on this disc are the live renditions, especially "Born To Kill" and "No Laughing In Heaven".
Disc 2 (54:48) is added as a bonus on the first 5000 copies, and includes all the material originally released on the bonus disc from the UK vinyl pressing of the "Glory Road" album (entitled "For Gillan Fans Only"), including the humorous interludes between the musical tracks. As a hidden bonus on the last track, another musical number I've never heard before, possibly entitled "H-Bomb".
The liner notes, written by John McCoy, unfortunately only cover the material on disc 1.
It's a good complement to the other 2 "Gillan Tapes" album, but still remains "For Gillan Fans Only"
