Dogwood are great - at last there is a Christian punk band who arent ashamed of God and don't sound wingy. They have mega fast fast drum beats, great lyrics (esp. WE CRY VICTORY and MORE THAN CONQUERORS) cool guitar work and amazing vocals - Josh has acool voice. Stand out tracks include WE CRY VICTORY, FEEL THE BURN and CONFUSION ZERO. This is amazing hardcore that any punk fan should own. If you like bands like No Use For A Name and Lagwagon then you will love Dogwood.

i'm going to come right out and say it. i just can't get sick of this cd! i've been listening to it for almost 2 years now, and excluding about two months when i lost it, i haven't gone two days without hearing it all the way through at least once! the words, the music, the guitar riffs, everything is awesome. there isn't one song on the whole cd i skip over. here's a quick review of the individual songs:

1.Suffer-great beat, one of their longer songs. 9 out of 10

2.Rest Assured-one of the short ones, but still good. wish they had made it a full-length. 8 out of 10

3.Feel the Burn-awesome song. great drum work on this one, with creative guitar melody. shows the talent of dogwood. 10 out of 10

4.Never Die-best song on the cd, second of all time dogwood songs behind the early stairway to hell. one of the better songs with a message. 10 out of 10

5.Out of the Picture-the least of the songs. good, but not up to their standards. unimaginative, boasting simply a loud guitar. 6 out of 10

6.My Best Year-great song. doesn't sound like dogwood very much, in a hard to explain way, but still great. again, shows the creative guitar work. 10 out of 10

7.Control-kind of an escape from the normal "rage" roots that dogwood has. music isn't great, but the words are true and hit home. 9 out of 10

8.Everything Dies In Time-not bad, good head banging song with some good vocal straining singing. 8 out of 10

9.We Cry Victory-very good, with a good message. the lead singer shows his screaming ability in this one. 10 out of 10

10.The Pain is Gone-my second favorite on the cd. i always find myself singing the lines "take my rage, hide it in your fist. it's all for you..." the best guitar solo on the cd. 10 out of 10

11.Confusion Zero-good, however the lyrics are slightly obscure. not their best work. 8 out of 10

12.Left Out Cold-not bad, but again, not their best. nothing really exceptional about it. 8 out of 10

13.More Than Conquerers-awesome song, with great words. I knew them all after only hearing it about two times. 10 out of 10

The only complaint I have with this is that most of their songs are under 2 and a half minutes long. i guess though that this what you can expect from a punk band, although some of their songs would've benifitted if they were about 3-4 minutes long. this cd shows off their talent best, also their love for the Lord. get this cd!

Dogwood Rocks.......2001-10-09

This is one of Dogwoods Best CD's . To the guy who thinks that Josh (Singer) has not talent You should try to do what he does to his voice and keep it that way. Dogwood is great and will always be great

This is the DEFINITELY one of the best CD's I have ever heard. I have borrowed the CD from my friend at least 20 times, and now I'm finally ordering it. The vocals are incredible, awesome guitar work, great rythm, and great message. If your gonna buy any album, buy this, it's a must have. Rockin' with the cross...

Best CD ever!!!.......2001-08-06

This is the absolute best CD I have ever heard. All the songs are awesome. If you get this CD you'll never want to listen to anything else. I'll even go so far to say that they are better than any secular band out there, so if you aren't even a christian BUY THIS CD. My favorite songs (even though they are all sweet) are suffer, feel the burn, never die, control, the pain is gone, and more than conquerors. All the other songs rock also. Their lyrics are christ centered and show god's love. Just do yourself a favor and buy this CD.

Sorry! This live celebrating the U.Heep's stuff isn't useful.......2002-12-12

Well after listening to discs like these, I ask myself: "Why one of my favourite bass players/vocalists of the 70's, John Wetton, is not producing anything new and interesting as well? Where is his famous inspiration, that let him produce such jewels like UK's "Danger Money" or "King Crimson's "RED"? Has He forgotten the importance of producing intelligent discs, suitable for more meditative moments or anyway standing alone against the music stereotypes of the recent times, in a resolute manner? Well honestly I think of an artist who is concentrated more on himself than on his music research ... He has produced some solo works, of which I own the only one is worth, in my opinion,that is "Arkangel"... an AOR and acoustic album, in some moments tasteful...instead this live, performed with the former member of Uriah Heep Ken Hensley, doesn't add anything new, talking about their old stuff of course("Return to fantasy", "July morning","The wizard"). Such these songs are quite well executed, but without being helped by solid new arrangements ... morover the voice of John -unfortunately- isn't equal to that one-splendid- of the 70's/early 80's (listen to UK's second album and you understand the reason why...); nevermind, if you are a fan of Uriah Heep, probably you can't stand without listening to this "memorial" tribute, otherwise perhaps you will stay somewhere else, listening to a true work in progress!!

The resolution-Ken Hensley is back!.......2002-07-14

Excellent live show! Ken mixes new material from his most recent release RUNNING BLIND with classic Uriah Heep. The result is a most satisfying show. Great opening instrumental from new CD flows into "Easy Living". This is followed by Return to Fantasy/July morning (A Ken Hensley Classic). By the time you hear the Wizard you are remembering the glory days of Uriah Heep. Ken's new material is great, especially the rockin' "Tell Me". This tune reminds one of the great Rock & Roll songs with Ken and David ala "Love Machine". The shows encore is "Lady in Black". If you were into early Heep this is a must addition to your collection. I also would recommend Ken's latest RUNNING BLIND-It sure feels good to hear this guy playing again. Bring the show to Colorado Ken! We have a million silver stars here to guide you with their light.
