Album Description
Liquid Mind VI: Spirit, the sixth in Liquid Mind's tranquil series of deep relaxation music, is ideal for Yoga, massage, meditation, anxiety management, and all healing activities. Like the other Liquid Mind albums, this gentle album is used by people everywhere to relieve stress, by parents and teachers to help quiet hyperactive children, by insomniacs to assist themselves in going back to sleep in the middle of a difficult night, and by just about anyone to relieve the stress of a busy day at work. This music was designed originally to assist in anxiety management, and is useful in any setting where anxiety or stress is an issue.
Composer and synthesist Chuck Wild has crafted another beautiful calming and healing album, a wonderful antidote for the stresses and strains of frenetic life in our fast-moving world. This is deep relaxation music at its finest. Liquid Mind's best-selling series continues its healing tradition of tranquility and peace.
Customer Reviews:
Raising spirits.......2007-06-27
This Liquid Mind album is one of three that I currently own. When I put it on with the intent to "lift my Spirit," it does. I relax, sort out my thoughts, relfect upon positive aspects in my life, and that rejuvenates my spirit and mood. I intend for that to happen when I play this album, and the music definately provides an atmosphere of, and not a distraction to what I choose to think about. I think that "Spirit" is aptly named.
Feeds the Spirit.......2006-11-03
This is a great way to begin the day! I can put this on and have my cup of tea, and get in touch with my inner spirit.
Perfect for relaxation.......2006-05-26
Just what I was looking for. Perfect for massage, calming down or just relaxing before bed. Something about it helps me breathe better.
sound healers dream!.......2005-10-19
This review may only speak to a very few people, but nonetheless, I would have liked to seen a review like this somewhere in my neverending search for sound healing music. I use many forms of music in my healing sessions, and the LIquid Mind series are hands down the best. I primarily use these CD's through a vibroacoustic soundtable, and the overtones are just right. Constant and not too jarring. The music penetrates into the body in a mellow and flowing way. The vibration of the music is subtle yet powerful. If you are looking for good sound table music, this collection is what you are looking for, as well as anything by Klaus Wiese or Crystal Voices crystal bowl cd's.
Melt Away Stress.......2005-09-03
This is the first cd I've bought in the Liquid Mind series, but after hearing this one, I'll buy more. The music is calming and soothing; great to fall asleep by which I often do. It lulls you into a peaceful state of relaxation, letting your mind drift away from the cares of the day. It makes me think of floating on a cloud. I would highly recommend this cd for anyone with a busy, stressed-out life.

Outstanding.......2005-09-10
This CD an outstanding for the sportsman. Anyone who engages in any aspect of the outdoors and appreciates the bond with nature will understand and appreciate the songs and lyrics from this CD. The message that uncle Ted puts out is clear and motivates others to enjoy the spirit of the wild.
jeremy holloway.......2005-02-15
spirit of the wild is one of the greats by the motor city mad man it has every thing great vocals great guitar solos great songs. like fred bear heart and soul and kiss my ass is probally the best song the cd. spirit of the wild is a must have for all nuge fans
Five Stars for Fred Bear Alone.......2005-02-12
This album is great. Ted's guitar and vocals are very very good. The album isn't as good as Cat Scratch Fever, but it's worth the 10 bucks just for Fred Bear. All the people who said this album was bad and the lyrics & guitar were laughable don't know what music is. They couldn't play a guitar if they tried (no-talent morons), otherwise they'd realize that Ted was one of the revolutionary guitarists of the 70's. Just listen to his solos and you know he's the real deal. All of his songs are interesting and innovative. This album's totally worth it.
This Album is Just Not Good at All.......2005-02-07
The song lyrics are laughable, the vocals are sorry, and the guitar is even below Ted's previous capabilities. All in all a pretty pathetic effort from Ted the Sledge.
WOW!.......2004-12-07
don't get me started.....it STINKS. don't get me wrong, i love a little wang dang sweet doe tang as much as any guy, but this has to to be one of the top three or four worst albums ever produced (and i own tubthumping by chumbawumba). fred bear in particular was such a poor and pathetic tribute to the legend that had it been written 15 or 20 years ago....it still would have stunk. this guy has no guitar chops and has the most asinine lyrics i've ever heard. pure garbage...use this one as a coaster.

Customer Reviews:
not to great.......2007-04-04
We were disappointed with this CD, but for the price I guess we can't expect much. I didn't care for the new style presentation of the songs. I like a more traditional rendering.
Not so bad, 100 tunes for 4$.......2005-06-22
I red the comments of two other people who have bought this 4 CD BOX SET and it is not really so bad. I will even add that there are some excellent tunes. However, I must agree with the fact that few tunes seem to have been recorded 40 or 50 years ago, mainly when you hear the scratches of an old turntable but it is just 2 or 3 tunes. Furthermore, if you do not know American music, it is a good BOX SET to buy if you consider that you received 4 CD for 4$ including 100 tunes. On these 4 CD, I have heard some orchestration that I have never heard before and I consider that they are different but interesting. Any way, after hearing these 100 tunes, you will say to yourself that you like this tune, this other tune, this other tune and so on and you will be able to buy a more expensive CD with the tunes that you like. However, I have bought many CDs in the last few weeks and as you know, there are always some tunes that you like and some tunes that you do not like on every CD that you will buy. So, don't buy it at 25$ but at 4 or 5$ dollars, it is a very good choice for 100 tunes.
You get what you pay for........2004-07-04
You get what you pay for. The singers put their own spin on the singing of each song. If you didn't hear the words you would not recognize some of them. Even some of the music sounds like a bad recording of music played on a turntable. Definitely not worth the price.
Now I know why there were no song samples to listen to ..........2004-07-04
I wish this review had been here when I was thinking of purchasing it. I guess you get what you pay for. If you are thinking of buying this, you are better off recording your own CDs (or at least buying one that you can listen to a sampling of the songs). This album includes songs that were mere recordings of the songs playing on an old record player. It's almost so unbelievable that it is funny.

Album Description
Driving World-Beat Ethno-Fusion! - Pumping rhythms of the wild... droning, eternal voices of an ancient future
exotic nature sounds and rapid-fire percussion create an inter-dimensional journey into mindless spirit. Earthy didgeridoo with Australian aboriginal voices blend with UK techno-shamanic, traditional Native American Peyote chant, NYC trip-hop and Afro-Caribbean tribal rhythms... all fused into a thrilling dance compilation.
Customer Reviews:
Techno music. .......2005-11-11
This CD features a compilation of Techno-music supported by a little didjeridoo here and there. As such it is really not bad. However, both the title and the album description state or imply that the music has something to do with meditation and/or spiritual practices. This is not true: it's Techno-music in its purest tradition. The synthesizer-generated music is very flat with little or no harmonics.
Wow!.......2003-11-27
I was looking for a CD full of high-energy music. Wow! This one is awesome.
I'm constantly looking for great high-energy music for use when I'm working. This CD is almost too perfect in that regard as it is the type of music I can put on, go to work, and POOF -- 4 hours vanish.
My feet are dancing, my fingers are drumming, and my mind is in the zone. Great beat, nice didgeridoo, and awesome percussion throughout.
This sound reminds me of the high energy music that would emerge if you could somehow mix the music from the Afro Celts, Nomad (say ASIN: B000001ZBG), and Deep Forest. Delicious :)
I'm no trance expert so can't comment on its "trance purity", etc.
I'm no dancer so I can't comment on the type of dance genre this music best fits. Apparently I'm thinking of becoming a dancer, though, as I seem to have this urge to go dancing through the house like a wild man whenever this CD is playing :)
Summary: I agree with the summary on the back of the CD, "Pumping rhythms of the wild ... droning, eternal voices of an ancient-future ... exotic nature sounds and rapid-fire percussion create an inter-dimensional journey into mindless spirit". I wish I would have said that :) ***Highly Recommended***

Bullock is a first class musician of breathtaking ability.......2004-06-29
I was familiar with Robin's work with the eclectic acoustic trio, Helicon, and I even had the great honor of his musical accompaniment at a local art fair gig once. Knowing about his mastery of many instruments, I've been wanting to get this album of his for quite some time. Robin plays nine different instruments on "Midnight Howl." Steve Bloom's percussion is right on, and we also hear some expert bodhran, wooden flute and Celtic harp from Myron Bretholz, Chris Norman and Sue Richards, respectively. No slouches there! The CD starts with a lively "John MacKenzie's Fancy" that imparts a rhythmic intensity that is very powerful. Throughout the journey, he follows his quick paced romps with leisurely musical strolls. Arrangements are well thought out, and it's a true pleasure to hear the genesis of 8-minute numbers like "Jaybird Suite" and "Ash Grove Suite." Robin Bullock is a first class musician of breathtaking ability. (Joe Ross, Roseburg, OR.)
WOW!!!.......2003-04-28
I have become a huge Robin Bullock fan, and this CD "Midnight Howl" is just the latest of his works that I have aquired. These tunes are a beautiful blending of a little Celtic, a little "Hillbilly", a little Bluegrass, and a lot of pride. This is such a beautiful work, I would have to place it close to one of my favorites. I believe, if you like string music with a down home flavor, you should give this work a listen.
Excellent!.......2000-02-02
I discovered Robin Bullock when he toured a couple years ago with Celtic accordian madman John Whelan. Bullock is an outstanding musician. I had to have the CD that included a song called "For Ireland I'd Not Tell Her Name." That turned out to be "Midnight Howl." A beautiful song, as is every piece on this CD. If you enjoy Celtic and traditional instrumental music suitable for relaxing and dreaming on a snowy or rainy day, don't miss this recording!

Givin Praise.......2006-04-27
I recently saw Wild T and his new Spirit in a cafe in a small town in Holland (i.e.Someren). I travelled all the way from Ireland especially for this gig. To be honest, I had no expectations of what was to come. Firstly the concert had no cover charge, and most of the people in attendance had never heard of Wild T. BOY! Were they in for a surprise. With no lighting, and literally a 5 minute warm up, Wild T gave me the performance of my life. This guy just oozes so much confidence,
and MAN! did he rock!!! Hendrix was covered, and also a couple of Bob Marley (Stir it Up, and DOnt worry bout a thing - Dont know the proper title of that one) which really impressed me with the Rock overtones. Tony (i.e. Wild T) really made my night by dedicating not one, but two of my favourite Wild T songs for me (A really Stonking Status Quo'ish version of Mean Mean Mama from his 1st CD, and a rip-roaring Freedom Train) from Givin Blood. I was left completely overwhelmed at the end of the night such was the passionate delivery Wild T and the Spirit displayed. I had missed the last bus home by about 3 hours, and ended up on a park bench, but that didnt bother me at all. That must say something. I am very sure we will meet up again Tony. Trust me.
Onto this CD, the standout tracks are the aforementioned "Freedom Train", the equally impressive "I'm a River" (Both out and out memorable pieces of Hard Rock)and the funkish rocker "I've got the rhythm", and if its good heavy Blues you want a la ZZ Top, check out "Everythang". "Telephone Freak" is Wild T at his best vocally in my opinion. A tongue in cheek up-tempo number which leaves you mesmerised. A softer side to the CD is exposed by way of "Loveland" and Midnight Blues (Also covered on Wild T's other CD LOVE CRAZY). "Givin Blood" is a Must have for any Rock Music lover. Same goes with "Love Crazy".

Fairly unique.......2003-04-24
This is true Alaskana. That should be enough. It's hard to genrify this music. To a degree it owes a debt to Alaskan "tourist music" as typified by people like Steve Hites from Haines Junction, to Christian music, and to the Alaska Folk Festival scene. It might have been more Alaskanish if there was some of the roots rock that gets played (especially by native Alaskans) in the small town bars all over Alaska, but this would be great soundtrack music for a movie version of John McPhee's "Coming into the Country."
All the tracks are worth listening to, although the attempt to polish them overly harms the DIY feeling of the album. A lot of tracks, "Buffalo Soldiers" or argonauts or jack london are kind of inside unless you know who the buffalo soldiers were, or about alaskan boats or about jack london and the yukon. Since this is going to hit a mostly country audience that's in a way flattering assuming they have some academic knowledge.
The cut that seems to be played most on country stations is "Out There" which is too out there to take seriously. It's Pat Robertson/militia nut nonsense, even though it has probably the best melody and instrumentation. All the rest of the tracks are normal.
BTW this is not roots rock and not comparable to "the Band" at all (as the lybot review said). The Band had a firm blues heritage. On the contrary, it's the unique blend of influences and the novelty of style that makes Wild Frontier worth listening to.

Mosaic means..........2003-04-25
The title "Mosaic Persuasion", Metropolitan Klezmer's second album, is a very apt "double entendre", "mosaic" here being intended both in the meaning of referring to the laws of Moses(in other words, 'Mosaic means never having to say you're Jewish') and in that of a multi-faceted image, where a large number of individual elements combine to form a larger image. This metaphor could hardly be more appropriate to describe the eclectic music of Metropolitan Klezmer with its wonderful cosmopolitan blend of traditional klezmer tunes, Chassidic nigunim and khosidls, Yiddish song, Balkan and Greek and Sephardic elements, as well as jazz.
They again present a strong, thoroughly consistent album. The arrangements are flawless and even elegant, the musicianship and virtuosity impeccable. Throw in superb ensemble playing and a great deal of exuberance and flair, as well as a truly cosmopolitan instrumental palette with excellent "doubling" by all members, and you've got an outstandingly versatile band. The presence of members of another Eve Sicular led band, the all female The Isle of Klezbos, complements Metropolitan Klezmer seamlessly. Since their debut album, founder/leader/drummer Eve Sicular has fine-tuned the delicate balance between her masterful and inventive, stylish drumming and the need to hold back so as not to dominate the music even further, to the point of perfection. An incredible feat, for which Ms. Sicular can't be given sufficient credit and kudos. Much kudos is also due for the fairly extensive and even prominent use of the bass clarinet on "Mosaic Persuasion" - and so wonderfully effective it is, too.
Highlights include "Brandwein in the Lotus Groove", based on a classic recording by the legendary Naftule Brandwein and given a different and original, imaginative rhythmic treatment by Eve Sicular, here playing the dumbeq, set off by a jazzy bass line by Dave Hofstra. The swing treatment given Yiddish theatre star Molly Picon's on-air signature tune, "Abi Gezunt", as part of "Northern Doyna/An Alter Nigun/Abi Gezunt" is simply outstanding. Deborah Karpel amply demonstrates that she has overcome the shackles of her classical operatic training and grown tremendously as a singer of Yiddish song on "Mayn Rueplatz", "Muzikalisher Tango", and "Lomir Zikh Iberbetn" especially. "In Laws' Taxim/Mekhutonim Tants" has Michael Hess shining on a kanun taksim, which leads seamlessly into the Mekhutonim Tantz. This features Steve Elson's superb bass clarinet, contrasting beautifully with Debra Kreisberg's excellent alto, all melded together with fine ensemble playing including Michael Hess now on a very effective ney. "Humphrey Bulgar" is a wonderfully manic piece of Mickey Katz-esque slapstick also featuring a brief vaudeville excursion to Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt. Michael Hess's ney can again be heard to beautiful effect on "East(ern) Village Hanuka", a lively, almost manic, Turkish-flavoured rendition in 7/8 meter of the holiday classic "Oy Hanukah!". "Uskudar Taxim/Terk in Amerike" starts with Ismael Butera playing an accordion taksim that's as Ottomanesque-sounding as you could possibly get with accordion - marvellous. This leads into the main piece, another 1920s Brandwein standard based on a popular Turkish song named for the town of Uskudar. On "Szol a Kakas Mar", one of the oldest and most enduring Hungarian Jewish folk tunes, the listener is treated to some wonderful pizzicato viola by Michael Hess. "Mosaic Persuasion" closes with another classic popularised by Brandwein, "Araber Tants". Here, it has been given a thoroughly Middle Eastern treatment, with a subtle, sensitive arrangement availing itself of Hess's gorgeous ney, Steve Elson's superlative chalumeau (mostly) of the bass clarinet played without even a hint of excessive vibrato, Pam Fleming's subtle Harmon-muted trumpet and a suitably restrained rhythm section made up of Ismael Butera on bendir, Dave Hofstra on bass and Eve Sicular on daire (large frame drum). The effect is extremely seductive, even hypnotic. Even on an album with consistently strong tracks such as "Mosaic Persuasion", "Araber Tants" cannot fail to stand out with its sheer haunting beauty.
The informative liner notes by Eve Sicular again include the lyrics for songs in Yiddish, romanised Yiddish, as well as English translation, also by Eve Sicular. Full listing of personnel as well as instrumentation is also provided.
"Mosaic Persuasion" is an outstanding, varied album that Metropolitan Klezmer and members of The Isle of Klezbos can justly be proud of. The good news is that both bands have new albums on the way, and I for one can hardly wait!

Tony has been tamed.......2005-01-18
Wild T's new CD TRUE BLISS did not bliss me out at all. I found his previous 2 CDs (Love Crazy and Givin Blood) to be of true guitar greatness. I found that the primary reason is for the lightweight keyboards. Tony should have stuck to being a power trio. I sometimes wonder that after such a long gap from his last CD, maybe Tony wanted to appeal to more of a mainstream market and sell more CDs? Sorry Tony, this aint the one. I would have released the CD under the name TONY SPRINGER and NOT WILD T. So many songs are just lightweight RnB. God! Luther VanDross and George Benson spring to mind at times. Wild T has also re-released the song Cant getcha out of my mind featuring Jeff Healy. What this CD needed is more guitar frenzy. If he was to do a re-release of a song, I would have suggested Freedom Train, Love Crazy, I'm a River, Mean Mean Mama etc.
C'mon Wild T - MORE ROCK needed
Great CD!.......2004-11-25
Wild T and the Spirit's "TRUE BLISS" is a fantastic album! It's very much rooted in blues/rock, but it also stretches out into R&B, funk and jazz. Great songs, strong musicianship, and over the top guitar playing, makes this a fine purchase!
