Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Witty, highly musical, a standout........1999-06-13

The wit is in the playing of the music and the lead guitarist is a surf virtuoso. I've heard lots and lots of instrumental surf albums but none surpass this one. Their version of Telstar is hilarious; I had the same idea of overplaying it but there it was recorded before I could consider how I would do it. Some of their originals are very original indeed. The sound is polished throughout, the beat is strong, and this group is professional. There is one song I dislike on it, but I just skip over it when it comes up--King of the Sludge Guitar. So what, there are 14 other tracks and well over 50 minutes of music. I wish they'd come out with another album. The only other instrumental album I know of that is as witty is The Return of the Hellecasters, which is also a great great album.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best surf bands i've ever heard!.......1998-07-18

I learned of this band from a PC game, and the best part of it is that you can throw it in your CD player and hear a mix of the Ultras, Alpha 60, and Dick Dale. But back to the Ultras: this is a cool CD. 15 tracks of hard hitting surf and rock that will blow your speakers no matter what you have the volume set at!
