5 out of 5 stars Tablet of God (maybe Satan, I'm not picky).......2005-08-19

You can throw out all your other albums. This one's all you need. I got mine when it came out and have been listening to the same copy for over ten years on a very frequent basis. Guanteed to cause brain damange.
Here's feedback in your ear.

5 out of 5 stars Monster Magnet - '25...Tab' (Caroline).......2004-09-17

Holy mother of all creatures great and small! This is actually supposed to be an EP?Boy,you sure had me fooled, with '25...Tab' clocking in at over 45 minutes,Monster Magnet mainman Dave Wyndorf and crew go WAY above and beyond the call of duty to put this outstanding release together. When I first got this disc,I remember playing it about like every other night.Simply could not get nearly enough of the 32-minute title track,'25...Tab'.And to think that some thought psychedelia was dead.NO WAY!!This'd be great to play at a late nighter's bash. The other two tracks, the 12-minute trippin' "Longhair" and "Lord 13" will provide the listener(s) with much aural pleasure as well.Nonetheless,a priceless psychedelic metallic(with much mayhem to offer)disc to own and treasure. If you can't hear Magnet's influences of Sabbath,Stooges,MC 5 and Hawkwind, you need to get your ears cleaned.Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Good space rock stuff........2004-07-26

I've heard a lot of good and bad things about Monster Magnet. How their early albums are real psychadelic and acid-drenched, and that their late albums are more 70's rock. Well, I'm more of a Spine Of God fan than a Monolithic Baby fan, so I like the early stuff. Tab is a great song. 37 minutes of a bad acid trip. You can't go wrong. 25 is awesome. A fast rocker which turns into a slow burner. Another great tune. Longhair is a little less intense, but it's a good trippy song. Lord 13 is a little too typical sounding, so I don't care for it that much. There's a untitled 5th track too, which is actually called Tractor, and it is the same version that is on the Monster Magnet EP in 1990. It's alright, but nothing special. Buy this for the 1st 3 songs.

4 out of 5 stars Tab.......2003-03-28

25........Tab is a nice recording. 25 is the best song on this album. many people refer to this as an EP, i do not think of it in this way. it's over 50 minutes long. Perhaps it is because there are only 4 tracks (plus an unlisted 5th), but i differentiate between LP and EP by length of the entire album. But i suppose it would be best to go with what the band refers to it as... Continuing, Track 4 (Lord 13), is actually Murder with a new name (the same version as on the self-titled EP released in 1990), and the 5th track is Tractor...the same version that is on the 1990 EP as well. Longhair is nice. Tab is good too, but gets sort of annoying, as the same riff repeats through almost the entire song, with some variations. i suppose it would be more entertaining if the listener were to assault his or her mind with LSD. the last few minutes of Tab=the best on the album.

5 out of 5 stars for fans only.......2003-03-01

if you appreciate music that is way out there or your a huge fan of magnet then this is for you, otherwise, stay away. the fist song is thirty plus minutes long. the amazing thing is how the band played the same riff for so long or did they loop it? it really is a good groove but it gets repititive. the second song is fifteen minutes long and can make you weary just listening.
the next two songs are really good and not too long at all. there is also a hidden track which is another version of the song tractor. i love this band. amazing stuff. very black sabbath meets hawkwind. psychadelic rock with a heavy edge. good stuff if you have the ear for something different.
