Customer Reviews:
Brian Robertson changes the band.......2007-04-30
This is the only cd with Brian Robertson, is one of my favorite.
good post-Eddie offering.......2006-11-27
[...]"Another Perfect Day" comes closest to Clarke's work, just for the presence of ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson, who, like Clarke, had a distinctive style and years of playing under his belt before joining Motorhead for this one album.
While "Another Perfect Day" features the most intricate arrangements in the band's repetroire, it still bashes and crashes along, courtesy of Lemmy and Philthy Animal Taylor's brutal rhythm section. "I Got Mine", the title track, "Die You Bastard" and "Shine" are standouts.
I have not purchased the remastered version yet, hence the four stars instead of five. My original mix version is horrible, with the bass and drums almost non-existent, buried several miles away in the background. With the new mix, hopefully those faults have been corrected, because "Another Perfect Day" does belong in the same class as "Ace Of Spades" and "Bomber".
in jail or dead.......2006-05-06
I'm listening to "marching off to war" 4th song on the album now after about 20 yrs. This album is off the fu**ing richter!!! blowing all posers away!!!! in your face mother f****s!!!! This is it!!! Get it! Get it Now!!! "It's just a holiday, back at the fuuny farm!"
Robertson is brilliant.......2006-01-04
Easily the best guitarist this band has ever seen and will ever see. He is the only one who brought true depth and quality to the sound of this band by adding bass lines behind tone-deaf Lemmy's over-cranked bass.
Solos that are some of the best, most melodic solos recorded in their history. Robertson not only put down some serious deep riffs, he also challenged filthy Phil and Lemmy to perform at their best.
This album, along with Robertson's work, never received the recognition it was due. If you take the time to listen to the back-bass lines and solo work, you will appreciate what is Robertson's career pinnacle. Compare it to the live Hoochie Coochie Man hollow sound and you can see why Robertson became frustrated with the semi-retarded antics of Lemmy and his overall indifference to musical depth and quality.
This album burns and demands respect due to a serious axeman who I would love to see future work from. As far as overall Motorhead, not much else compares to this album.
This album will stick.......2005-12-11
This is a really strong but, sadly, lost album in Motorhead's vast catalog. The combination of Lemmy's rough, grinding bass and Brian Robertson's melodic guitar work creates an awesome dynamic. With all due respect to "Fast" Eddie, he really can't compete with Brian. The licks Brian lays out in "Dancing on your grave" and "I got mine" will stick in your head like glue. "Another perfect day" is another super tune...with spot-on lyrics by Lemmy about the hell of the alcoholic. I originally got this album on vinyl in the mid-80s as a junior metal-head and to this day I still spin it.

INSANE!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-05-29
An absolute motorhead must have!!!!! A greatly under rated disc from the boys, and when you ad in the live show from '83....you can't go wrong!
Bonus Motorhead Live in '83 Disc is Fantastic.......2006-03-29
The fantastic bonus live disc from 1983 with Brian Robertson on Guitar is worth the price of the package itself! I know Brian R. wasn't well received by most in the band but what a fantastic player. I think he was and still is great.
Another Perfect Day is a great album in itself. Highly recommended. A++++
You simply cannot go wrong with ANY Motorhead album if you like straight forward, kick-ass hard rock with a strong helping of punk rock attitude! Go Lemmy and Co.

This record is named "Another Perfect Day", but believe me, it ain't just another perfect Heavy Metal record.
I bought this record when it first came out because I was a fan of Thin Lizzy, and because I thought that the album cover was real cool. It was my first Motorhead experience and I had no idea what Motorhead sounded like. Initially I was put off by Lemmy's voice, I hated it. But I kept listening to the record anyway 'cuz the music ROCKED. I eventually began falling in love with this killer record and realized that Lemmy's voice (growl) was PERFECT for this kind of music. Brian Robertson's playing is better than anything he's ever done with Thin Lizzy. Every song is a 10. Lemmy's lyrics on this record stand among the best lyrics ever written, regardless of musical style. This is one of the BEST Heavy Metal records ever made. It's a shame that Robertson only recorded one disc with the band.
A Motörhead Album For Fans... And Others.......2002-05-19
After guitarist E. Clarke left the band, Lemmy and P. A. Taylor decided to take the risk of replacing him with a "guitar hero" named B. Robertson - a "risk", because the band's tone could then have changed and its music could have bent with the 80's wind. Fortunately, it turned out to be the opposite: APD has the rawness of the previous albums but, thanks to B. Robertson, it also reaches heights one would not have thought the band could reach. It is an epic and very inspired record, with innovative guitar riffs, excellent songwriting all the way through and some true highlights: "Rock it", "Back at the funny farm", "Marching off to war". All musicians are in fine form: you can hear that each of them is one hell of a performer. Too bad Robertson had to leave after the tour.
I personally recommend the purchase of the original CD edition, not the remastered one, which contains extra tracks but whose bland sound is definitely inappropriate to Motörhead's style.
AWESOME MOTORHEAD.......1999-12-29
This by far the best Motorhead album ever. Filled with great, melodic, hard rockin' songs, Lemmy and co. do good on this one. Lemmy brings in ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson to fill in for the departed Fast Eddie, and churns out awesome riffsand blazing solos that musically is a huge departure from Motorheads already pattened rock n' stomp sound. There is melody in every song, which surprisingly, sounds fantastic! This is a classic album.
High Quality metal.......1999-07-27
An excellent recording, showing the classic lineup with the ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson taking Eddie Clarke's place. Typical Motorhead -- loud, fast, heavy and excellent!
excellent sound.......1998-08-11
The best record out of the Eddie Fast Clarke line up, Brian Robertson rules on this opus, it`s a shame he did not stay a little longer with the band. Lemmy and Philty? excellent as usual
