One of the freshest country albums of the year comes not out of Nashville, but rather New York, from a sporadic band with the unlikely (and somewhat suggestive) moniker of the Little Willies. At times, the fivesome (named in homage to Willie Nelson) hearkens to the great historic western-swing bands--crack, loose-limbed musicians fronted by a hypnotically sublime girl singer. If that sleepy female voice (and her distinctive piano) sounds astonishingly like Norah Jones, that's because it is Jones, exploring the country side of the blues. The group--rounded out by Lee Alexander (bass), Jim Campilongo (electric guitar), Richard Julian (guitar, vocals), and Dan Rieser (drums)--formed in 2003 to play the Living Room on New York's Lower East Side and just do the classic American music they grew up enjoying. That's why their low-key labor of love, recorded without commercial expectations and promoted under the radar, includes both originals (including the achingly sweet "Easy as the Rain") and covers of Hank Williams's "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive"; Nelson's "I Gotta Get Drunk" and "Nightlife"; Kris Kristofferson's "Best of All Possible Worlds"; Townes Van Zandt's "No Place to Fall"; and Leiber & Stoller's "Love Me" (made great by Elvis Presley). Throughout, the record maintains the slightly inebriated, bar-band feel of a live club performance, especially on "Lou Reed," a very funny saga of a cow-tipping incident possibly involving the dark rocker. This is an extraordinary record, not only for its musicianship, but for the infectious joy and exuberance of performers who remember just how fun it is to play music from the inside out. --Alanna Nash

Customer Reviews:
Disappointing.......2007-07-09
A big fan of Norah and country music I was excited by the potential of this album but it is a waste of time. The songs uniformly fail to excite, you get the sense that none of the very talented people involved in the production really cared about putting together a good recording. Not awful, but not good which for me was very disappointing.
Willies disappointment.......2007-05-12
A found this CD disappointing. The tracks seem too raw and a touch unprofessional.
Fun little retreat to the past.......2007-03-23
This is so reminiscent of my childhood. Song styles of the past, very folksy, bluesy and sweet. I really enjoyed her selections and the vocal harmony.
Chilley Willies!.......2007-03-09
This CD was recommended with Norah Jones' new CD by Amazon so I took the advice and purchased it! Wrong!
IT WAS AWFUL!!!!!
Best when Norah sings........2007-03-09
Not a bad album, but clearly best when Norah Jones has the mic. This seems to have been a diversion for her, rather than a serious effort. Still, if you are a NJ fan, this is a must. It does nicely show her affection for the C&W genre.

Celebrated and adored for his sanguine lyrics and irresistible hooks, Cat Stevens was one of the rare singer-songwriters capable of composing genuinely optimistic songs that didn't leave a sappy residue in listeners' ears. However, even a cursory listen to 1972's Catch Bull at Four proves that the Cat had seen darkness, too, and that those darker elements had become more pronounced than they'd been in the past. His vocal style shifts from the cool croon that made Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat top sellers to a harsher, almost growling delivery. The album's standouts--the wistful reverie "Sitting" and the delightfully infectious "Can't Keep It In"--are resolute in lyric and melody. Rambling, mystical odes such as "The Boy with a Moon & Star on His Head," "Angelsea," and "Sweet Scarlet" offer quaintly romantic imagery and lavishly undulating melodies. But it's the mercurial dynamics and driving melody of "18th Avenue (Kansas City Nightmare)" and the bitter conviction of "Ruins" that give the album a backbone and a sense of balance. --Sally Weinbach

Cat's Early Seventies' Transition.......2005-01-28
Cat Stevens' fourth album for A&M records is a definite treat. The first Cat Stevens LP to feature a promotional label: (2 different labels on one record), and I believe the first of those 4 albums to feature electrical instruments. This album contains the top 20 hit "Sitting" as well as the acoustic masterpiece "Boy with a moon and star on his head". Cat's first big rocker was "Freezing Steel" from side 2. Also included are "Angelsea" and "Silent Sunlight" which i think are the best ones on the album. The remastered CD has brilliant sound, just like the LP right out of the shrink wrap. If you are just discovering the sound of Cat Stevens, "Catch Bull At Four" is an excellent first choice. The musical energy will fill you up.
Undoubtedly one of the Cat's classic albums.......2004-10-23
It is unfortunate that many reviewers of `Catch bull at four' have tended to regard it as a poorer quality album than its two predecessors `Tea for the tillerman' and `Teaser and the Firecat'. I feel that this does the album a great injustice; no artist should be expected to remain unchanging in style, and if he had simply stayed with a winning formula after the success of `Teaser' Cat Stevens could rightly have been criticized. However, Stevens demonstrated integrity and vision throughout the early years of the 1970s, with each of his first five Island Records albums showing a clear progression and artistic development, even if on occasions (perhaps most notably `Foreigner') this was not always commercially successful.
After achieving a very focused and concise style on `Teaser', Cat Stevens understandably wanted to experiment with more unusual song structures and ambitious arrangements, and the result is a somewhat more stylistically diverse album than its predecessors. As a result it is, if anything, a stronger, more musically satisfying album, and includes new elements such as electric guitar, synthesizer, female backing vocalists and the accomplished keyboard work of Jean Roussel. At the same time, the album retains much of what made Cat's earlier work appealing, and also includes the welcome re-appearance of the bouzouki to add its distinctive sound to `O Caritas'.
The mood of the album is at times somber, reflecting Stevens' continuing spiritual pilgrimage at this time, and his deep feelings perhaps show through most in the opening track `Sitting' and the bleak closing song `Ruins'. Though there are a couple of weaker tracks (such as `Boy...' which has a pleasant arrangements but a rather tedious, over-long lyric, and `Angelsea' which is perhaps too dominated by synthesizer sounds), these can be appreciated as valid musical experiments, and are more than compensated for by other very appealing up-tempo tracks (such as `Sitting', `Can't keep it in' and `O Caritas'). The album contains several lovely ballads, such as `Sweet scarlet' and the madrigal-like `Silent sunlight', whilst the more complex song structure of `18th avenue', with its orchestral interlude and changing rhythms, hints at the direction Cat would take with his next album `Foreigner'. The whole package is enhanced by the crystal clear remastering, and restoration of the stylish original album artwork. Altogether, `Catch bull at four' can be regarded as a very satisfying album which, along with `Tillerman' and `Teaser' ranks among Cat Stevens' best work.
Like all of Cat Stevens' albums - about 2/3 superb .......2004-09-25
This seems to be a trend and applies to at least his first six A&M releases, except FOREIGNER, which was maybe 1/3 superb. Although "Silent Sunlight" and "Sweet Scarlet" are two of the most beautiful songs Cat Stevens ever recorded, I would recommend CATCH BULL AT FOUR on the strength of "18th Avenue" alone. That song is his studio masterpiece, in my opinion. And listen to the chanted chorus in "Angelsea". Supposedly the voices repeatedly chant "Oh, Carly Simon says, oh, Carly, why?". After all, she did have a romance with Cat Stevens shortly before meeting James Taylor. Could Cat Stevens be the subject of "You're So Vain"? Nahhh. The #1 candidate for that dubious honor is still Warren Beatty. Anyway, buy CATCH BULL.

Album Description
The album that started the Herb Alpert phenomenon!
Originally released in 1962, The Lonely Bull was not only Herb Alpert's musical debut, but the first album released on A&M Records. "After experiencing my first bullfight in Tijuana, Mexico," Alpert recalls, "I was inspired to find a way to musically express what I felt while watching the wild responses of the crowd, and hearing the brass musicians introducing each new event with rousing fanfare."
The excitement translated, and The Lonely Bull was a stunning success. The title track hit the Billboard Top 10, as did the LP, which peaked at #10 and remained on the album chart for three years. The disc also includes the perennial stadium favorite "Never On Sunday," and the intricate, bossa nova-inflected "Desafinado." The cover, featuring Alpert toasting with a tequila glass, began a run of memorable TJB coversincluding the groundbreaking and unforgettable one featuring a barely covered model immortalized on the Whipped Cream & Other Delights.
Each album in the Herb Alpert Signature Series features meticulously remastered sound, deluxe packaging, detailed liner notes, and an intro by Herb Alpert containing personal recollections and anecdotes.

PASS THE TEQUILA! AND LISTEN TO THE BRASS!.......2007-07-11
I have fond memories of the music of Herb Alpert! I was introduced to him at an early age as my parents were fans of his records. I didn't hear much of him again until I was coming of age in Wildwood N.J. at the age of 15 when I used to party under the boardwalk with my friends and our girlfriends underneath Hunt's Pier's "El Scrambler" ride. The ride played Herb Alpert tunes non stop! I guess you could say I became a "Man" underneath that pier with my first love listening to the Tijuana Brass. Later in life in my 30's I was taking a break from playing in a band in the local bars,I became a DJ and I would mix Herb Alpert in my mixes and buy shots of Tequila for my fans! To this day when I play these songs at parties we all look for the Tequila bottle! This is a one of a kind sound and if I were stranded on a desert island with only a few albums, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass would be included in that collection! This is an excellent album, but not his best! I no longer own the original records so, I can not say if the new cd's are true to the originals. They sound fantastic to my ear!
One of his first.......2007-04-12
One of Herb's first albums. It has a distinct "south of the border" sound that was lost in later albums. He plays the song that started it all "Lonely Bull." This album takes in all emotions, from happy and upbeat to the meditative "Quiet Tear" to the romantic "Let It Be Me". You've got to appreciate this type of music or you won't be happy with this album. I'm a big Herb Alpert fan so I love it.
All the boisterous noises, color and motion of the Tijuana streets--and one "Lonely Bull" that wouldn't be lonely for long.......2007-04-12
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass scored a major coup with their first album--and the first record on the A&M label--entitled The Lonely Bull. If anyone ever wanted to take a group of polished musicians and infuse great ballads from anywhere in the world, including Latin America, with their personal Latin American or Mexican style, Herb Alpert was the best man to do it--and do it he did.
The CD starts off with the titled track, "The Lonely Bull (El Solo Toro.)" We hear the sounds of the bull fight and a few bars of the "La Virgin de la Macarena;" then the true melody begins. The horns, percussion and guitar all shine to make this melody a very special one; and the backup chorus adds to the greatness of this number. "El Lobo (The Wolf)" follows; again the horns, percussion and guitar carry the melody very well. "El Lobo (The Wolf)" also makes great use of the chimes at the end of this track. "Tijuana Sauerkraut" again uses the horns and drums to bat this traditional German flavored melody straight out of the ball park! The chorus on "Tijuana Sauerkraut" performs beautifully, too.
Other gems on this CD include the bossa nova flavored "Desafinado;" Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass perform this so elegantly. The melody charms you so much that you'll want to jump up, grab your sweetheart and dance--wherever you are! The musicians use the horns and percussion on "Desafinado" very well. In addition, "Never On Sunday" sports a continental flair with a Latin American beat superimposed over it that works very well. The backup chorus only enhances the loveliness of "Never On Sunday." In addition, "Struttin' With Maria" has a relentlessly happy and upbeat feel to it which highlights the joy a man feels as he walks alongside his one true love, Maria.
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass also perform a stunning rendition of "Let It Be Me." The artists slow down the tempo considerably as they use the horns and percussion to make this classic love ballad more romantic than ever. This is truly music for lovers!
"Limbo Rock" sports a powerful upbeat melody as the horns and percussion carry the melody. The cries of the musicians and the male chorus add a very special human, playful element to "Limbo Rock."
The CD ends fittingly with the stately sounding "A Quiet Tear (Lágrima Quieta)." "A Quiet Tear (Lágrima Quieta)" begins with tambourines added to the horns to enhance the stateliness of this number and to infuse it with a Mexican flavor as well. The backup chorus also helps to make this a fine ending for the CD.
The liner notes include commentary by Herb Alpert and the art work reflects good judgment.
Fans of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass will consider this release to be a "must-have" for their collections; and people who enjoy easy listening music from the 1960s will enjoy this CD as well. Moreover, if you like music that emphasizes the role of the trumpet, you can't go wrong with this CD.
¡Olé!
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass (The Lonely Bull).......2007-02-14
Before the Tijuana Brass, Herb Alpert was a jazz musician who picked up the trumpet at age eight. His idol was Clifford Brown. During the 50's, Alpert was active in the music buisness, producing albums for Jan & Dean and working with Sam Cooke, and other pop artists of the day.
While creating A&M records, which would go on to be one of the largest record companies in the world) with his partner Jerry Moss, Alpert was inspired by the music from a Bullfight in 1962 to make an album of those sounds.
The answer; The Lonely Bull. The title song, written by pianist Sol Lake, went on to become a smash. Alpert was a star, and this is the album that went along with the single.
A happy care-free set of instrumentals with heavy latin, and some jazz influence. Overall this is a nice album. This album would only hint at the success Alpert would endure, during the 1960's.
If you're not familiar with Herb Alpert's music and want to be, this wouldn't be a bad place to start, but there are many other terrific albums that have a slightly different sound than this one does.
The Lonely Bull.......2007-02-01
I purchased this album on a reel-to-reel tape in the early sixties and loved it then. I love this CD even more now. Thanks.

Wish We Could Hear the Rest of the "Bunch!".......2007-03-13
Really enjoyable, even if it's only five songs (and 16 minutes) long! The sound is great; even though the CD was recorded at a live in-store appearance, her vocals and piano are crystal clear. Also, there is no audience noise whatsoever, except applause at the end of songs. That's especially appreciated on the excellent "The Noise" -- which, despite its title, is the most subdued and moving track on the CD.
The only "flaw" is that this sampling of a Spektor live show leaves you wanting more. In the liner notes, she says that "these five songs, and a bunch more, were performed." Ah, if only we could hear the rest of that bunch!
ChasinWV.......2007-02-20
I saw a profile of Regina Spektor on the CBS Sunday morning program. I liked her story and sound, so I looked her up in the Amazon reviews. Bought the Bull Moose EP, figuring live solo material would be a good test of whether her stuff is worth buying. It is. Great lyricism and vocal styling to go with the piano playing featured on television. I'm looking forward to the additional Spektor material I ordered.
I adore him, and I implore him..........2006-07-06
In Portland, Maine on June 5, 2005, antifolk goddess Regina Spektor did a special in-store set at the Bull Moose music store, and it was captured for eternity by the staff there. So consider yourself a lucky, lucky fan if you can get ahold of this EP, which was distributed through indie music stores.
It starts off with "Ain't No Cover," which is pretty much all a capella. Spektor sings in her quirky voice of a man she "adores," while a heartbeat plays in the background. Then the piano kicks in with "Carbon Monoxide," a meditative, bittersweet little ballad occasionally interrupted by "walka walka walka walka walk..."
Then it's time for the sprightly, ominous "Pound of Flesh," which makes Spektor sound like a thoughtful imp, and the stately, classical-sounding "Noise." The EP finishes up with "My Man (Medley," a rambling little love ditty that comes full circle back to the opening song. "My man he breaks my heart/he tears me all apart/and he leaves me such a mess/they say I'm cursed/but I am blessed/cause he loves me, he loves me/he really really loves me..."
Regina Spektor is reknowned for her attic-apartment verse and quirky voice, and both are on full display in the "Live At Bull Moose." It's also a top-notch live recording, so that you can almost forget that it IS live, until the audience starts applauding at the end of every song.
Spektor's voice doesn't suffer from lack of studio polish; she sounds basically the same here as she does in her studio albums. She forms soundscapes, riffs and scatting all with her sweet, quirky voice. Her piano playing is nimble and light, and her oddball songs are wonderfully literate and strange: "Ezra Pound sat upon my bed/asked me which books as of late I have read/Asked me if I've read his own,/And whether I could spare a pound/Of flesh/To cover his bare bones."
Anyone who enjoys Spektor's delightful antifolk works is sure to want "Live At Bull Moose" to round out their collection. A lovely little live performance, and shows that she is a magnificent musician in and out of the studio.
Really solid little EP.......2006-03-11
This is a really nice five-track EP. All the tracks were recorded live at Bull Moose, a record store in Portland, Maine. All the songs are, obviously, stripped down to her voice and the piano, yet they don't sound simple.
The album opens with It Ain't No Cover, a nice anti-love song of sorts. You can hear her tapping her foot throughout. Carbon Monoxide, from the album Soviet Kitsch, makes an appearance. It doesn't sound much different from the studio version. Pound of Flesh, track three, is a really great song that centers on clever turns of phrases, including one on a great poet's name: "Ezra Pound sat upon my bed/Asked me which books as of late I've read/Asked me if I've read his own/And whether I could spare a pound/Of flesh to cover his bare bones." The fourth track, The Noise, is probably the song I was least impressed with. While it's a decent song, it doesn't really have anything uniquely Spektor in it. It's followed by My Man, an a capella medley that ends the CD and reminds you of how versatile her voice is.
The EP was only released in certain independent stores, so you might have a hard time getting your hands on it. However, if you come across it, it's definitely worth buying. It's a nice complement to her full albums.

Customer Reviews:
English Renaissance music done beautifully........2007-05-13
I bought this CD to have some authentic English Renaissance music in my collection,
and fell in love with it. The Earl of Oxford March is particularly appealing.
They don't come much better........2005-08-23
The incomparable Canadian Brass make this album a rare treat. From the first notes of Holborne's "Galliard" to the magnificent complexity of Byrd's "Fitzwilliam Suite", their renditions are sheer delight. The music is both relaxing and enjoyably stimulating. Repeated hearings allow the listener to discover some hidden turn or embellishment that was not noticed before, or to appreciate again the antiphonal and complementary interplay of the instruments in the antique harmonies they create. A most enjoyable recording.
The finest brass ensembles all on 1 album.......2002-01-31
I got this CD quite a while ago, and I still listen to it almost daily. Best at night in a candlelit room while it's raining sipping fine wine and reminising of the Renaissance festival! (wierd, I know. But that's just me) If you have an interest in this time period, you won't regret buying this CD.
An interesting spin on English Renaissance Music.......2000-08-09
The composers of 16th century England were able to take the music of other countries and produce something uniquely their own. So, too, has Canadian Brass taken English Renaissance music and made it into something wonderfully different. Immediately accessible (and acceptable) to modern ears, these tunes are a splendid treat. Almans and Galliards take on a whole new flavor when done entirely by brass instruments.
Great sound. Definitely a must for your collection........1999-11-05
I listen to this CD about once a week while riding to work so that I can keep my sanity. It was a gift from my daughters that keeps on giving.

Sandy Bull's 1965 LP Inventions remains one of those legendary albums that almost no one has heard. Its impact, however, can be scene in the title of this new compilation spotlighting a great unsung hero of "psychedelic folk." "Blend," the 22-minute opus from 1963 that opens this disc, surely fits that designation, perfectly blending folk, jazz, and Indian influences into what Bull called "new guitar raga." An eclectic virtuoso who switched from acoustic guitar to banjo to Stratocaster to oud (mostly backed solely by jazz drummer/Ornette Coleman crony Billy Higgins), Bull was all over the musical map. Thus the beautiful, soothing bossa nova of "Manha de Carnival" gives way to German classical music, which is supplanted by a cover of Chuck Berry's "Memphis." The cream of Bull's first three albums can be found here. When those old records were in stores, it's a good bet Leo Kottke, Mark Knopfler, Richard Thompson, George Harrison, and Jerry Garcia were taking notes. --Bill Holdship
Customer Reviews:
Simply incredible - the ultimate groove music.......2006-07-20
In the early 80's I was a baker at a cafe in the San Juan Islands in Washington State. I was at work by 5 am to bake the croissants and this album was the early morning treat each day. The waitress had recorded this album on a cassette and we about wore the thing out. I had just started to play oldtime clawhammer banjo and was always attracted to the Indian Raga idiom...this album merged with rockabilly, classical, etc. thrown into the mix.
Sandy Bull is a master genre-twister, and a delight to behold! This album exemplifies the genesis of his astonishing musical journey and the absolute brilliance of both his and Vanguard's vision.
... revealing "essences" ..........2000-03-14
revealing essences of classic, soul chords and riffs of the 1960s post-Shankur, post-Beatles music
A Fantastic Original.......1999-10-16
My old college roomie in New Haven had this album in the mid-sixties, and Sandy was just about the most incredible guitarist we'd ever heard (and both of us played). If you've never heard or heard of this guy, you are in for a special ride. The fabulous, magical cut of "Memphis" -- quietly ethereal, sliding back and forth like Chuck Berry off in some cloud dream -- has haunted me for over 35 years, and it alone is worth ten times the price of this album.
One of the Best of the Sixties.......1999-10-01
This is one I would choose if I could only have ten albums on a deserted isle. Bull was a true master of his instrument. It enjoyed cult status when I was in college in upstate New York in the sixties. A must have.
Acoustic bliss.......1999-04-14
Every song on this CD is very diferent from the other but there is not a bad or boring one among them. There is something very unusual about the way Sandy Bull plays every instrument he picks up. I've never heard of this guy even though he's been around forever. Some of the recordings date back to the 60's but they don't sound dated at all. Re-Inventions would be right at the top of my list of desert island disks.

$139.99? Well maybe it's worth it!.......2005-03-20
Will someone tell me why Vangard has not released this in CD? This is one of the most interesting albums I have ever heard. As background music, or better yet just turn off the lights and lay on the couch, and turn it up. Just mesmerizing.
How do we go about getting this to the people? Write your congressman, write Vangard...or pay $139.99 for a used one.
gone but not forgotten.......2001-10-26
like other great artists and creative people in the 60s-70s, Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, Buckley... Sandy Bull passed on. But anyone listening to his recordings will never forget or confuse him with any other guitarist. It's not just a 60s record, it's an inspirational record. If you play or enjoy really good guitar, get this.
I've never fogotten this ablum.........2001-03-26
Whenever the talk turns to "GREAT ARTISTS, WORLD SHAKERS...HEARD NO MORE". My first thought is always "what the hey happened to Sandy Bull."
Bring Back Sandy Bull Rhythmic Flow Master.......2000-05-20
Its nearly 30 years since I first heard this album and I still quote it as my all-time favourite music. All the world music fans who are band-wagoning on cross-cultural sounds should listen to this historically pioneering artist who blended North African and Middle Eastern textures within a western context into our experience, regrettably the experience of a small few, but hopefully a wider community of listeners to come. Not only important historically, but musically: a wide range of music genres over the last couple of decades have worked with drone-note principles and it is an increasingly common device, but Sandy Bull was/is a superlative master of utilising the drone sounds;understated but effective in creating sounds that vibrate and resonate within ones being in mesmeric meditative flow. Flow I think is an essential description of this album, for it is not an inane lift-lobby new age meditative music, and neither anything jarring, it is fluid and flowing, like a perfect wave unwinding along a perfect point. And the perfection of the music lies in the way it allows you like a surfer to find your own flowing journey along this mesmeric but spaciously unfolding wave. I still have the LP but am seeking the cd,please! p.rorvik@saol.com
amazing music, especially for its time.......1999-10-16
I kept this album for years until it almost wore out, taped it, held onto the precious tape...you get the idea. It amazed me to see him listed on this website. It sure would be SWELL if it could be reissued as a CD!!! It would be even sweller if he'd record something new!

Customer Reviews:
"Best Harpsichord Recording".......2005-11-05
I have always loved the sound of the Harpsichord and for many years hearing poorly recorded or played Harpsichord this treasure is a must have. From the fine compositions to the good sound quality this CD is definately a keeper.
Plenty of music for a moderate price as well.
Great.......2005-08-09
This CD is very very good just what I was looking for. I highly recommend this CD if you are planning on purchasing a Harpsicord CD, this one is the best.
a must-have for harpsichord lovers.......2004-04-30
I love the sound of this most unusual instrument, the harpsichord. Especially the fast intricately melodic songs. Very enjoyable. This "Greatest Hits" includes many compositions perfectly suited to this wonderful old predecessor to the piano. There's even a little funny trivia thrown in: on the song sheet is written: Q:"what did the famous conductor Sir Thomas say that the harpsichord sounds like? A: "Like two skeletons screwing on a hot tin roof" :)

keeno.......2001-01-08
This is a fun cd. BYRD, BULL, BACH ETC come through great Scarlatti bits sound like a flock of unhappy cows running of a field of burnt popcorn but those bits generally do unless played on the African Kalimba [or thumb piano] in Africa where I need not hear them.
This is a well engineered CD. Many featuring the harpsichord demand a level of equipment beyond that of any regular person with bills, which means this disk sounds just fine on a boom box. Everybody in the family will like some part of this disk `cept for the 13 year old whose lost to punk rock or hip hop.
The Most Superb Harpsichord Sampler.......2000-07-27
I can't imagine a better sampler of harpsichord 'hits' played by one of the great stereo-era masters. A full complement of emotions is displayed here, from the most delicate and sparing texture to the most rip-roaring martial roar. If you're wondering what the harpsichord is about, or if you're already a fan and want a great sampler to play for your own delight and amusement, you cannot go wrong with this recording.
