Classic hardcore punk album.......2007-07-23

Somewhere between the sarcasm and humor and anger comes some of the best 14 songs from the LA hardcore punk scene.

This CD is as essential to any punker as Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables by the Dead Kennedys or the First Four Years by Black Flag. Saying you like hardcore punk without owning this CD is like saying your straightedge without ever owning Minor Threat's Complete Discography it should be a friggin crime.

This CD and the songs reflect to me like many of the albums I mentioned above all the best things about the LA punk scene. The music was not just loud, was not just angry it also had this dark sense of sarcastic humor totally missing from so many other forms of modern popular music. And the Circle Jerks were one of those bands that did it really well.

California Punk Masterpeice.......2007-07-13

While Keith Morris's former bandmates Black Flag continued down the path they started and made increasingly complicated music much to the disdain of hardcore fans, the Circle Jerks made stupid short fast songs that were more than enough to satisfy hardcore fans everywhere. This album is just a masterpeice. My favorite songs are probably Beverly Hills, Wasted and Don't Care, but as short as the album is I just listen to the whole thing nonstop every time without putting emphasis on any particular songs. In my mind this album is just plain great from start to finish. If you dont have it and you like Keith's work with Black Flag, any other Circle Jerks albums or just great early california hardcore buy it without hesitation.

Raw and Ill..........2007-04-19

14 songs in about 15 minutes... incredible. They dudes helped pave the way for hardcore... The tracks are raw... no filler, to the point. One of the great albums ever recorded. Any real fan of punk should own this.

Wild near-classic.......2007-04-12

This teen punker contains a clutch of SoCal anthems that still resonate with the skate crowd - or anybody who likes good punk done well. While not altogether consistent from song to song, its appeal comes from acknowledged classics like "Wild in the Streets" - maybe their most recognizable tune. Any respectable mosh-pit would be sent into a frenzy with most of these tunes. Their spirit of teen angst is never too heavy, and their sense of humor buoys the sharp punk style.

A punk classic of the first order.......2007-04-01

This is undoubtedly one of the greatest albums ever made. Every song is outstanding. There is not a single filler track, nothing to skip. From start to finish it is pure joy and it's all over before you know it.

If ever there was a slam-dance soundtrack, this is it. Founded by Keith Morris (fresh from an early Black Flag lineup) and ex-Redd Kross guitarist Greg Hetson, the Circle Jerks made fast, crude, and occasionally very funny music. Their live performances became notorious as show attendants were routinely whipped into a frenzy by the band's accelerated pace. Group Sex is the band's defining moment. The opener, "Deny Everything" is followed 25 seconds later by the astounding "I Just Want Some Skank" (a virtual magnum opus, clocking in at a whopping 1:08). keith morris is probably the most underrated punk vocalist ever, he is the voice of punk as far as i am concerned. i mean if aliens came to earth, having to prior knowledge of what punk music was, and you could only show them one band, think about it, the circle jerks are the one. anybody who said black flag, better have been talking about when keith morris did vocals. if you played henry rollins to aliens, you might accidently start a war.

Circle Jerks Group Sex.......2003-01-01

In 1981 I was lets see..Hmmm... 11 years old,a budding (no pun intended) guitarist myself. I was invited by my uncle and older siblings(2 sisters,1 brother) to spend the evening at L.A.s
Whisky A Go Go to see the Circle Jerks. I'd heard their debut
record,'Group Sex' blaring out of my sister's room and really
hated it. I was heavily into The Who and Led Zeppelin at the time
and we rocker type kids were split against these weird punker types in our weird suburban schools. Anyways, as I stood in line outside the Whiskey(all of 11 years old with my hip uncle) I heard the end of their first show. I recognized the song as
'Behind The Door' with the little feedback guitar part and
some kind of adreneline rush shot through me. I later saw their
show and was mesmerized the whole time. I was quickly
converted.
'Group Sex' is probably among the five best punk albums
recorded by any group. You'll laugh, you'll scream, you might
even cry. And you'll laugh knowingly because you have discovered
a record and a sound that mocks stupidity and boredom as all great humorous art does. Dare I say art? Naaahh! Let's leave that to the snobs. This record will I believe, help give you a fresh, healthy, funny outlook on a world gone mad...

16 minutes of punk makes 1 classic album.......2002-01-10

Clocking in at barely 16 minutes (not counting the album repeating ) this is a slice of punk rock history and hails as one of the all time classic punk albums. Opening with the 24 second "Deny Everything" makes you wanna slam dance and destroy valuable furniture. Includes also the strangely relevant "Paid Vaction"(9-11) a song written 20 years before the incident.Own this punk rockers!

You Better Own This Album.......2001-11-27

The Jerks took the whole punk rock thang and sped it up, made it propulsive and percussive(great drumming, by the way)and basically ended up with a classic disc. Keith Morris really upped the ante for hardcore vocalists, shouting, screeching, warbling, and spitting his way through this scant 30 minutes of non-stop mania. Group Sex is an infectious ride. A super musical quickie.

THE BEST RNB ALBUM I OWN!.......2007-05-13

First thing's first... BUY THIS CD! OK now here's a little about the CD, I first heard Eddie Cain about a year ago on a Swishahouse CD, it contained "Sex in the City" and "Moments in Love (With a Thug)" and when i heard those tracks i needed them! I searched the net to find the Eddie Cain CD like crazy for a long time and no luck. So then I kind of forgot about it and came across it unknown months later, i was like DAMN! So i purchased it and WAS NOT disapointed. Lyrics like "Drip drop drip drop all up in the parking lot, foggin up the windows seat full of wet spots" it's just a must have. You will not be disapointed if you like "Love Making" music. Just look at the tracklist, with tracks like "Best Head" and "Take it to the Bedroom" you know this is the ULTIMATE "Love Making" CD ever!

THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A CIRCLE JERKS ALBUM FROM 1980-1982.IT WAS A GREAT ALBUM THEN AND IT'S A GREAT ALBUM NOW.I JUST THINK IT'S SAD THAT NONE OF THE OTHER REVEIWERS EVEN NOTICED OR MENTIONED HOW GOOD THE ORIGINAL WAS.BUY THIS AND THE REMASTERED GROUP SEX FROM THE CIRCLE JERKS.

This band is the best band i have ever heard. This album is by far their best album i have ever heard in my life. Wow! it is amazingly their greatest editing, mixing, producing, and engineering album yet. The sound is amazing and this band has the most unique style Ramones rock with a 60's pop touch to it that makes it so incredible. I recomend this to every one who is interested or already a Boris The Sprinkler fan because I believe this is their best release yet.
