Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars one of the best thrash albums ever .......2007-07-28

one of the best thrash metal albums ever total Slayer meets Iron Maiden no debut album is better than this accept maybe Flotsam and Jetsam Doomsday For The Deciever or Death Angel The Ultraviolence believe me I was there when it all came down I was the first person in Utah circa 1983 when the whole thrash metal movement hit took the debut of Metallica Kill em All to a party of at least 100 people I was always the metal dude D.J and no one could handle it after the first 2 minutes of Hit the Lights it was over and I had to put on Quiet Riot Metal Health what a bunch of Pussys and now look at it now Quiet Riot wiould play in your back yard for a Keg any way the first 2 Forbidden albums can kill any body and Russ Anderson is a great thrash singer so piss off all you non believers

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Thrash album!.......2007-03-12

One of the best top 10 thrash albums of all time. Amazing band, come back guys! Give us a Forbidden Evil II

4 out of 5 stars SOLID (4.5).......2007-02-02

This is one of those bands that had it all, but just missed.. Back when Slayer, Met and Anthrax were taking off Forbidden were probably just writing this gem. Unfortunately for them, they didnt cash in, but did produce a stellar debut. The riffs are just awesome, with shredding solo's. Excellent quality production bring out the solid performance. "Through Eyes of Glass" just kills! "off the Edge" is a bit strange, but kicks nonetheless. Each song has it qualities and tons of riffs, but "Forbidden Evil and "March into Fire" have some excellent drumming as well by Paul Bostaph. Good offbeats and timing structures.
The opener "Chalice of Blood" sets you up for 40 minutes of thrash heaven. Slight complaint (then and to this day) was the vocal. But thats a matter of opinion. Usually it factors well, but can grate at you at times.

Forbidden were just one of those bands that missed the boat a bit. they would follow this up with other solid releases as well. "Twisted into Form" is great, "Green" is downtuned but solid and "Distortion". They are missed..

5 out of 5 stars Great Thrash Classic.......2006-09-26

If you are a thrasher and don't have this album you better get it right away. This is the epitomy of thrash, Clear vocals, great melodies, complex song construction, amazing solos. The title track, "Forbidden Evil," is the best song on here. The falsetto screams are hit with perfection. One of the best, from the best genre.

3 out of 5 stars Classic 80's Metal.......2006-07-04

Forbidden Evil, from the classic 80's Metal band Forbidden, exemplifies the sound and intensity of metal's early heyday peak. Vocals in the style of Power Metal (ala Iron Maiden or Dio) combine with driving riffs and rhythms that approach modern day "jackhammer" speed and fierceness. There are no death growls here, nor complex musical thoughts. It is straightup party Metal that was so typical of the day.

This album has some throw away, trite tracks on it. However, it gains momentum and finishes fully: leaving a sense of satisfaction.

For fans of 80's Metal but not for those who are connoisseurs of Metal born in the Twenty-First Century.
