Product Description
Heavy Metal or Heavy Mellow? What if Slash, Kirk Hammet, or Richie Sambora learned the piano instead of guitar? It would have sounded something like this... Pianist Scott D. Davis reveals his rock roots with his latest CD "Rockfluence", performing some of his favorite rock songs, guitar solos and all, with nothing but a solo grand piano. Includes songs originally recorded by Guns 'N' Roses, The Eagles, Evanescence, Metallica, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Bon Jovi, Journey, Europe, Billy Idol, and one Scott D. Davis original.

A Perfect Blend of Piano Solo and Rock-N-Roll.......2006-06-30
Scott's music is soothing as well as entertaining, emotional as well as inspiring, gentle as well as invigorating. You have to listen to it to catch the blend and beauty of his work.
Fabulous!.......2006-02-20
I just purchased this CD today, and song after song I just smile and think "this is so beautiful", and it's mostly original hard rock songs, it's like an oxymoron but it is wonderful. My 7 year old daughter doesn't know the songs originally, and she kept saying how the songs were bringing tears to her eyes. I got this CD after hearing him at the Galleria Mall in Roseville, Ca. because it was so awe inspiring as he played. I wanted to share it with my family, especially my 5 year old who can play music on the piano from ear, which aparently is how Scott started playing himself, and I wanted his music to be an influence to her. He is a true inspiration. Thank you, Scott, for sharing your talent with us.
from Solo Piano Publications.......2006-02-07
Pianist/composer Scott D. Davis has been referred to as "the rocker of new age/contemporary classical music" for a couple of years now. When fellow pianist/composer David Nevue introduced Davis as such at a Whisperings Solo Piano Radio concert something resonated within him. He had been urged for years to record an album of recognizable cover music, but he resisted, preferring to record his own original material. Somehow, Nevue's introduction freed Davis to return to the music that helped shape his energetic performing style and to create solo piano arrangements of some of his favorites. It's a wide-ranging collection spanning thirty-two years of rock and metal music from 1971's "Stairway to Heaven" (Led Zeppelin) to 2003's "My Immortal" (Evanescence). Davis stays true to the spirit of the originals, and yet makes them his own. Actually, there is one piece on the album that is newer than 2003 - Davis' own "Scherzo." Most of the twelve tracks are intense and rather dark - no bubble-gum teeny-bopper stuff here - so it's obviously geared for a more mature audience. Even though I can remember just some of the words to the oldies that I grew up with and wasn't familiar with the more recent hits, I thoroughly enjoy this album. There should be at least one song here that just about anyone can say, "Oooh! I love that song!"
"Rockfluence" opens with "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses, a song full of rock-style tenderness and love. "Hotel California" is given a full almost-eight minute treatment that is very true to the original. "My Immortal" by Evanescence is a quieter slow-dance ballad that Davis fills with passion. "Nothing Else Matters" from Metallica is dark and very intense - a beautiful arrangement! I couldn't quite imagine "Stairway to Heaven" as a piano solo, but it works well! I really like the mystery and drive of "Wanted Dead or Alive" from Bon Jovi. "Open Arms" from Journey is one of my favorite songs from the early `80's, and Davis keeps it warm and loving - also a great arrangement! Another favorite is Europe's "The Final Countdown," a powerful, emotionally charged song with a gorgeous melody. Billy Idol's "White Wedding" really rocks, leading up to the closing track, Davis' own "Scherzo," a musical term that means "joke." I first heard this impressive piece in a live setting, and it really makes people sit up and take notice! Davis' fingers fly all over the piano with the various themes of the piece, which range from slow and almost sedate to a wild and crazy romp that makes me think of chase scenes in old movies. "Scherzo" clearly demonstrates Scott Davis' playing chops as well as his musical sense of humor. Fun!
"Rockfluence" is truly a musical good time, showing what these rock classics sound like stripped down to one instrument and no vocals. Good stuff!

Album Description
Before he found his way into AC/DC in 1974, Bon had been the lead vocalist with two leading Australian bands. The first, dispensing crisp bubble-pop, was The Valentines. The second, turning out expansive, intriguing, underground 'head' music on one hand & hard-rockin' boogie on the other, was Fraternity. With Fraternity, Bon toured Australia & Britain, & recorded two albums & a handful of small-run indie label singles. He also went through the experiences which would shape his attitude & performances in AC/DC (and supply him with the content of a number of his early songwriting efforts for that band). His highly distinctive vocal approach set Fraternity apart as one of the most powerful & acclaimed musical units to emerge from the lower continent in the early 1970s. A handful of Fraternity tracks have been released on Scott history CDs but the bulk of the band's output has long been out of
Customer Reviews:
More Dynamic to Bon Scott.......2003-07-16
Most of the songs on this complete sessions collection were also on an excellent album called Livestock. Taken as a group, they show good range of both music and emotion, from trippy and expansive orchestral moments to earthy and melodic gems. One of the songs with a chorus of "Young Farmers Festival" would simply not leave my head, the tune was so catchy, but it is the deeper tracks and contemplations which are the real attraction here. "The Race" at times has a bluesy feel, but it eases into a beat which is far from sad. "Summerville" has a tight strut and swagger to it which Bon would later refine, while tracks like "Jupiter's Landscape" and "Grand Canyon Suites" are wide and symphonic. Listeners will find impressive range here, and they need not be a fan of Bon to appreciate it. AC/DC fans looking to uncover hard rock nuggets will not find them here, but I also don't think they will be disappointed.
*As a side note, I remember a very early AC/DC song that only came on a special edition record years ago. It was called "Love Story" or something, with Bon gently crooning the chorus, "Oh Jean...". Looking back on it, I realize it was a real bridge between the music of Bon with Fraternity, and his many memorable AC/DC compositions.

A Classic.......2005-12-23
Mike Farris is one of Rock's best singer/songwriters and it seems that nobody knows it. Although this solo effort is much more subdued than his work with his former band - the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies - it might just be his best. The acoustic guitar work allows the listener to really absorb and appreciate his soulful, moving vocals as well as his lyric writing talents. There are so many great songs on this cd. It would be the perfect selection for a long drive through the countryside or through mountains on a warm sunny day. Enjoy!
Sublime!.......2005-12-06
His first solo album track "Sublime" define his job.
What a lot of soul!!! Incredible melodys, depp words and his amazing black voice...
Poor of me! I missed his two concerts in Spain this year, I think the only thing I can do is put on "Know Good Know How" on my car-cd and drive hundreds miles watchin' the sky and smile...
What a voice.......2005-12-03
If you have never heard the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies, then you owe it to yourself to get this cd and all the other SCW cd's. This guy is one of the best front men I have ever heard. I have had the pleasure of also seeing them live and he sounds just as good live as he does on the albums if not better.

Customer Reviews:
A great album featuring a great singer.......2001-05-19
I saw this album in with all the other AC/DC CDs a few months ago and decided to pass, it ate at me all day and later that night I went back and bought it, I'm very glad I did. Fraternity is not a band with the same style of music as AC/DC, I think it is best described as a combination between blues, rock and roll, and a small bit of psychadelic rock. I love this album, it's great, Bon sounds great on his vocals, it really shows the power of his voice in songs such as Raglan's Folly and It. Even the song Grand Canyon Suites which is an instrumental sounds great, and the two songs, Cool Spot, and Livestock feature a number of people singing, and they're all great songs. Bon and the rest of the band sound great... now if I can just get my hands on the rest of the Fraternity songs....
Classic Bon Scott!.......2000-05-07
Thirty years ago I worked with a yound musician named BonScott. Through his formative years with the Valentines and then ontohis time in Fraternity, the precursor to AC/DC. What you hear in this record is the quality of Bon's voice, its incredible power and range. Much of which was lost in the later years of AC/DC. You also hear the command of music which evolved into 50% of the drive that made AC/DC so successful. 30 years ago I saw a Fraternity album in a music store and passed it by. What a mistake! Fraternity's signature tune, Seasons, is just as great today as it ever was. This is a MUST HAVE for any Bon Scott fan.

Album Description
"High Voltage - If You Wanna Rock N' Roll" is absolutely not a unworthy tribute to Bon SCOTT. Everything is here ! The instrumental technique is led by guitar licks worthy of Angus YOUNG and the rhythm section amazingly reminds of the original AC/DC trio. Frans LEMEIRE's voice style could be defined as a subtle blend of Bon SCOTT's and Brian JOHNSON's. The peculiar look of our favourite Australians has been closely reproduced on the Spirit Of 66 (Verviers) stage, that 22nd March 1998. The schedule of that night included: "Riff Raff", "T.N.T.", "Whole Lotta Rosie", "Highway To Hell", "Let There Be Rock"
And of course "High Voltage" ! What was supposed to be just an enjoyable break for those Belgian musicians, led by guitar player Vincent FIS (NOW), is actually becoming a career...
