dark, eclectic, and original. .......2004-11-12

This band is so versatile. All three of them play several instruments on their own and all their songs are different. There is an overall dark tone of their music for sure. Words of the dying is the best on here next to Fodder Song and The Silken Barb, as the last reviewer noted, is quite wierd and random. The early tracks that are found at the beginning of this cd are heavy, and it really set the standard. The Buried Blessing track is awesome too. All their albums are pretty good except for their very first...which was nothing but noise at the time(well, if you like that then...) Long story short: Controlled Bleeding are awesome and this compilation is their best. Exciting stuff.

Controlled Bleeding at their industrial-est........2001-11-18

This album collects songs from several of genre-spanning Controlled Bleedings earlier albums, mostly the industrial-oriented songs. (I haven't heard their "best of", maybe that showcases some of the other musical styles this band has dabbled in.) "In Penetration", "Consecration's Will", and "Words (Of The Dying)" are hardcore, slamming industrial numbers. "A Silken Barb" is strange: machine-processed and electronic, but with an operatic or classical bent similar to the works of In The Nursery ("Words [Of The Dying]" also has that aspect, but it is not as inherent). Controlled Bleeding is definitely a band to listen to if you're looking for something outside the norm (even outside the norm of industial).

Power and Energy and Dark.......1999-05-24

If you can't find a woman and have not had sex in a while, then 2nd track will drive you crazy. Almost to the edge. It really pushes you.
