Customer Reviews:
industrialized noise metal.......2005-05-20
Well the title of my review says it all. This music is tripped out noise metal with black metal vocals. I found out about this band from a Black Sabbath covers cd. OLD covered "who are you" and this album sounds just like it. I guess the best way to describe this would be=take older Godflesh, up the tempo, and yell and scream with black metal vocals and you come out with OLD. Get this now before it vanishes from the used market if you don't want to be stuck with downloading MP3's of this underlooked and defunct band. Make shure you check out Flux as well. It could be considered the real last OLD album.
8L4G CITY.......2004-08-29
My name's Davin, I'm from New Jersey, and this album is HIGH on my list of albums I LOVE!!!!
Being only familiar with the Colostomy Grab Bag(Godly) track from the Grindcrusher , I ordered this album online (OLD albums appear in real life @ x-treme low frequency). I had no thoughts listening to this @ first, but, I played the nes game Vindicators, which is some tank battle in future cities around the galaxy, with the sound off, listening to this. for weeks straight! Staying up til 5am fueled by this sound.
Imagine say...future city, wrecked city, ice mountains, high speed subterannean tube transport rides, air cab rides thru future city with girl you love, being the only car driving around northeast NJ Highways in the most industrialized sectors @ like 3am, walking on a grid, grid sky, being tired and amazed by bright lights, accessing your best memories and re-living them, Laser war!, desolations, angles, smiling people. Those are some impressions I get from album.
I recently learned also that Jason Evermann, who played on the first Nirvana album, did the bass for this album. His bass is perfect, the drum programming is perfect, Plotkin's guitar and composition is totally masterful! I can't even say!
I've only met one other OLD fan in my life so far!
more to come...
