sketchy as whether this is worth the buy or not.the first 10 songs are the real wasted youth. then after that is the next 7", which sounds totally different, largly due to the fact theres a different singer, the way it is with hardcore in general if u change the singer uve pretty much changed the identity of the band. also the first part sounds like classic thrashy socal punk. but the 7" is more crossover/metal. and only the first two songs on it are good. the fact that the greater part of the 7" sucks and the lp seems so short. i definatly wouldnt have bought this new, $6 is a good price

Wasted Youth were a pretty big deal in southern california
back in the early 80's hardcore punk scene playing many gigs
with such legends as Black Flag, Fear and the Circle Jerks.
The first half of the cd is the classic Reagan's In album
from 1981, which musically reminds me off the Circle Jerks
'Group Sex' lp as well as other bands from that era like the
Adolescents and T.S.O.L..The second half of this cd contains
Wasted Youth's second album that was released sometime in the
mid 80's. This album sounds tottaly differnent with only one
original member left in the band. Musically this sounds like
later Circle Jerks or S.N.F.U.and is not nearly as good as
'Reagan's In' wich makes the cd well worth the buy.

Well Kept Secret.......2005-10-16

Great early 80s Hardcore Punk from LA. Think old Circle Jerks and you won't be far off. This disc comprises two LPs. The second has some metal influence and is a bit forgettable. Again, think Cirlce Jerks. Good overall though.

Reagans In.......2004-01-21

Wasted youth were a part of the LA hardcore punk scene.They should of gotten more and they diserved more recognition just like other great hardcore bands.This record would of gotten a 5 but the "get out of my yard" lp just wasn't all that good . There was only one original member left when this lp was recorded for all i know....
Get this album for reagans in and listen to true LA hardcore.

THIS BAND IS TERRIBLE!!! I had to sit through them live when they were opening for the dropkick murphys. The guitars suck the lyrics are crappy and they have a crappy singer. It amazed me that people like these guys actually got a record label. Old school hardcore punk like this is crap. I recommend u dont waste the time on ur computer to download this stuff.

Blood for Blood, Jersey Hardcore at its best........2002-07-18

I have to say that out of all the hardcore that I've listened to in my time Blood for Blood in one of the most influencial bands that I've heard. There lyrics speak of the hidden life of the people kicked out, beatin in, and forced to live on the street. This able, like all others, has all of those explicitly true lyrics. If they still played shows I would be the first one on line to get tickets, and the first one in the building to see them. By far, one of the best albums of all time, five stars in my book.

Hardcore music with hardcore lyrics, WhiteTrashRob and Budha bring it and they bring it hard!! No other hardcore band comes close to BFB's intensity/insanity. Deffinately not for the rich kid that thinks he's hard....As WhiteTrashRob says "Why don't you go white-wash your fence or clean your daddy's car or somtin' like that you F@ckin nerd!..." Spoken like a true Hoody!

WASTED YOUTH IN YOUR FACE!.......2001-05-02

For starters, Blood for Blood definatley reigns as one of the top hardcore bands in my collection. Starting with "Spit my last breath" onto the good ole "Enemy" 7"...and finally concluding with "revenge...", and "livin'...", "Wasted Youth Brew" contains unreleased demo versions of classics from spit my last breath, about four cover songs, a live set, and a creepy intro. Not to mention the fact that its BLOOD FOR BLOOD! This is an album definaltley worth buying, and about the live set...It sounds great! Lyrics that are as powerful and borderline psychotic (and extremley deep) as a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, catchy oi! style riffs, and a presence that will blow all the other "angry" bands out of the water!

Caesar's Palace, The Caesars, The Twelve Caesars - they're all the same group. They go by different names depending on location - Twelve Caesars in most of Scandinavia, The Caesars in North America, and Caesar's Palace in Sweden, most of europe, and the rest of the world.

They currently have five albums:
39 Minutes of Bliss (as The Caesars)
Paper Tigers (as The Caesars)
Youth Is Wasted On The Young (as The Twelve Caesars)
Cherry Kicks (as Caesar's Palace)
Love For The Streets (as Caesar's Palace)

I hope this helps clarify some things.

I give EVERY SINGLE ALBUM five out of five stars - great vocals, great leads, great base, great melodies, great everything. If you like rock, don't pass this up.

Finally someone wised up and did a proper push for this band in 2003. Called Caesars Palace in Sweden - NOW known as just - CAESARS. Astralwerks is releasing an unbeleiveable collection of CAESARS best songs from their all brilliant 3 albums in Sweden - called "39 Minutes of Bliss (in an otherwise meaningless world)" on April 22nd , 2003. Toured with Soundtrack of OUr Lives MAr/Apr 2003. buy this version of their first CD as it is know out of print!!! Really amazing stuff here.

Ahead of their time.......2003-04-02

With all the attention that bands like The Hives, White Stripes, Strokes, Vines, etc. have received over the last couple of years, if Youth Is Wasted On The Young was released within that time, The Twelve Caesars would have received more than their share of the hype. While it was a welcome change to hear a more eclectic mix of music on the radio (and it still is), several of the bands I've mentioned here didn't quite deliver the goods consistently enough on their respective full length debuts. In contrast, Youth Is Wasted On The Young takes right off from the start, with the jaw droppingly catchy (and powerful) Sort It Out, and continues in high gear to the end.

All of the songs here crackle with garagey abandon. The mixes are raw, leaving the power intact. Unlike much of The Hives's work, Twelve Caesars liberally dose their rave ups with massive pop hooks. I challenge any listener to resist the irresistable Sort It Out, You're My Favourite, Anything You Want, She's A Planet, and the slightly reserved, Optic Nerve.

While the Twelve Caesars rock the laundromat on a recent Bacardi commercial with a track from this CD, I can find no evidence that the band is still around: no follow up album, no recent U.S. tour, no mention in the press, nothing. (Very weird thing just happened. I just this minute got an e-mail from a friend who I'm meeting up with tonight to go see The Soundtrack of Our Lives. One of the opening bands is simply called the Caesars. My friend says that these Caesars also hail from Sweden, and are currently featured in a commercial. Could this be a coincidence, or am I in for an unexpected treat this evening?)

Whether or not the Twelve Caesars are still around, or whether or not this CD was released in 2002, 2001, or twenty years ago, Youth Is Wasted On The Young is a great, timeless collection of revved up, pop rockers, with a 60's garage, and 70's punk edge. Just the first 30 seconds or so of Sort It Out should be enough get hooked. Enjoy.

Miss this at your own risk.......2003-01-11

If you think the Hives are something special, then do yourself a favor and check out The Twelve Caesars. Like the Hives, the Caesars are from Sweden, and both bands infuse gobs of energy into the classic garage rock formula. But the Caesars go one better by incorporating infectious melodies into the 13 three minute gems on Youth Is Wasted On the Young. Oh, and if you've seen the SMIRNOFF ICE(tm) commercial - the one where the guys start a party in a laundromat - then you've heard The Twelve Caesars.

Youth starts out with a mild paring of acoustic guitar and piano, but seconds later the guitars are kicked up to eleven as the singer rants, "I wanna smoke crack/ 'cuz your never coming back/I wanna shoot speed balls/ bang my head against the wall/I wanna sniff glue /'cuz I can't get over you." I've played this album for my 18-year-old daughter Caitlin, and even though she's been riding the modern rock bandwagon, she asked me to burn her a copy because "that song ROCKS."

The fun continues with fast, melodic rockers like "Lets Go Parking Baby" and "I'm Gonna Kick You Out." The exuberant melodies and garage-style enthusiasm continues with the angry rant, "You're My Favorite." Yes, all these songs are of the boy-meets-girl variety, but here the boy isn't afraid to tell the girl that she's "always my second choice" and that she's "older than my mother." Try not to smile while listening to the chorus of "She's a planet." Good fun.

mmmm, scandanavian happiness!.......2003-01-05

what a fun album. it's great for those long boring road trips. my personal favorite on the whole album is (i'm gonna) kick you out. i'd buy that album just for that song alone! gotta love the catchy organ stuff, eh?! in short, i suggest this album for those who like to rock, scandanavian-style!

future def leppard guitarist phil collin and future l.a. guns singer phil lewis sarted in this english glam band.Sheer Greed came out at the same time as first albums by def leppard and iron maiden, and were my pick of the 3 to make it big. I played this for many people and have yet to find a bad review. Sort of a cross between ny dolls and cheap trick, with a great cover of kiss' Do You Love Me. They put out a second lp thats good, but pales to this debut.

Wasted Youth were an East London decadent/bohemian band based around legendary venue the Bridge House. Their debut single 'Jealousy', released in '79 and sounding like an outtake from Lou Reed's 'Transformer', got regular national airplay. They toured with the Only Ones, whose Peter Perrett produced and featured on the next 7" 'I'll Remember You'. Martin Hannett produced the next, Rebecca's Room, and they toured with Classic Nouveau and with the help of their album 'Wild & Wandering' established themselves as a live touring band throughout the UK and Europe. After they split in 1982, guitarist Rocco went on to form Flesh For Lulu. Plus 16-page booklet with notes about each release by Terry Murphy.
