OK.......2007-02-15
I do not know what it is about AMERICAN BAND. It is like FORD or CHEVY vs BMW or TOYOTA. Something is missing....its get bored after all. Not to mention from the start, it does not have that exciting refreshing kick to it. UK bands and Scandinavian bands some how GETS IT.
Astro creep's grooviest metal.......2007-02-07
Im usually into white zombie not that interested in rob zombie albums I don't hate em but im usually into the old white zombie stuff alot more. the first song has the perfect speed guitar riff groove ELECTRIC HEAD and SUPER CHARGER HEAVEN. REAL SOLUTION # 9 has the slow heavy guitar riffs and rob sings in a very low voice which is hard to hear what he's saying but very good you would have to read the lyrics to understand and the last one was my most favorite MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN. 5/5 STARS
A heavy experience.......2006-11-17
This album is great from beginning to end. A classic heavy-metal album, from Electric Head to Blood, Milk and Sky, this is a ride that will fire you up and stir the demons from within. One of my most listened to CD's, still a favourite, even today.
"I remember her saying, I'm already dead...".......2006-01-31
Boy, if the only "metal" you kiddies have been exposed to is that whiny HIM junk, I pity you.
THIS is a REAL industrial-metal album. If that's what you want, this is one you're gonna want.
The pounding, heart-pumping drive of "Supercharger Heaven". (DEVILMAN, DEVILMAN!)
The riff-driven "Creature Of The Wheel".
The ominous-sounding opener, "Electric Head: The Agony (Pt. 1)".
The hit, "More Human Than Human".
And so many more.
Also, the fun, B-movie horror theme (artwork, samples, lyrics) that has come to be associated with Rob Zombie's work is clearly present, and it's campy and really adds to the album.
This is a loud, proud 90's staple. Check it out if you wanna scare all the Yellowcard fans.
and you don't already own this because.....?.......2006-01-12
Unlike Rob zombie's sole stuff white zombie is more gritty, has more guitar work going on and doesn't have as much of an industrial influence to it, but it's still there so don't worry. A lot of the songs are an adrenaline rush and will have up and doing something energenic. One thing about white zombie that I like but don't like about other bands is the use of soundbytes because it adds to the music and doesn't distract from it. So if you like Rob Zombie or metal then buy this cd you won't regret it.

Throughout the 1980s, "We are the Scorpions!" was lead vocalist Klaus Meine's concert-opening battle cry, energizing and readying the faithful in sold-out stadiums for a Teutonic onslaught of vital, sometimes plodding, eardrum-splitting rock anthems. In short, the arena-rock monsters were never a picnic-under-the-stars kind of band ... until Moment of Glory. The new millennium brings the Scorpions full circle, melding in-your-face party anthems like "Rock You Like a Hurricane" (now called "Hurricane 2000") and "Big City Nights" into fully orchestrated concoctions featuring the Berlin Philharmoniker. Where the grandiose likes of "Wind of Change" and "Still Loving You" are obvious choices for such a pairing, and indeed, work well, the "Deadly Sting Suite," with almost unrecognizable instrumental versions of "He's a Woman, She's a Man" and "Dynamite," will likely catch the unknowing fan of classic Scorps off guard. Both Deep Purple and Metallica have used full orchestras to accent their songs with mixed results, and the same goes for the Scorps. There's a fine line between wine-and-cheese classical fare and whiney and cheesy metal. Here the Scorpions teeter, if often gracefully, on that line. --Katherine Turman

Customer Reviews:
Got me hooked on Scorpions.......2007-04-12
I absolutely love the marriage of rock and symphony here. It's gorgeous. The Scorpions take already amazing songs and pump them up an extra notch. A long time ago I heard "Still Loving You" on the radio, not knowing who sung it. It took me years to finally discover the Scorpions. I own two different versions of "Still Loving You," and I far prefer this one to the original. It gives me this yearning inside. The only thing I don't like about this album is the guest vocalists. I love Klaus Meine. He adds an ethereal element to the music, and with the guest vocals, it takes away from the beauty, in my opinion. But don't let that deter you from getting this, because it is so worth it. "Rock You Like a Hurricane" is amazing! It's all amazing!
Moment of Glory.......2007-04-01
With metal music it is always louder is better and this album found one of the coolest ways to make metal louder. Combining the Scorpions with a the Philharmonic creates one of the coolest sounding albums I have ever heard.
[].......2007-03-14
i dont own this album but i have heard the songs off of it and i think their all great and performed well. and also as a side note since i read alot of comments about the guest vocals on "big city nights" but no mention of who: it is Ray Wilson best known for replacing Phill Collins in Genesis and recording the classic Calling all Stations
dynamite!.......2002-10-21
Just when you think the scorpions couldn't do worst...they prove you wrong!
Even Metallica's s&m is better...close but still.
I am sure that it was a great experience to live, for the band and the audience, because that type of event is always unique and can bring strong emotions-unless you have a dumb..s sitting next to you, drinkin' beer and screaming every five minutes Dynamiiiiiiite!!-but on cd...for me it doesn't do it,but it probably is a treasure for those who were there.
Now, I'm not gonna start the debat with DEEP PURPLE and the LSO(1999) but I was there at the Royal Albert Hall and that's why I can understand the concept and the thrill of holding the recording of such concerts...but still DEEP PURPLE 's symphonic album features something that neither Scorpions or Metallica holds...and this is an ORIGINAL PIECE OF MUSIC CREATED FOR A GROUP AND A ORCHESTRA!
Truly a Moment of Glory for the Scorpions!.......2002-07-31
AWESOME is how I would sum up this CD. From the moment I first heard it, I knew I HAD to have it. Buy it! You won't be disappointed!

Unreleased Metal Material, Worth Every Penny..........2006-02-01
9/10 Silver Future - Monster Magnet- Great metal track with that psychedelic vibe, some of their better new material you're going to listen to.
10/10 Immortality Insane - Pantera-If you're a collector of Pantera material this Soundtrack is a must have. One of my top 10 fav Pantera tracks and this is the only place you can find it.
4/10 Dirt Ball - Insane Clown Posse-I'm a juggalo at heart, truth be said the song's nothing to brag about but it's classic ICP/Twiztid.
7/10 Storaged - System Of A Down- Reminiscence of their debut, short track (under 2 minutes) but an essential if you liked SOAD's original material. Inless you feel like spending $50 on a cd, this is the only place you can find this track.
11/10 Green Iron Fist - Full Devil Jacket-Best metal track "Heavy Metal 2000" has to offer! I'm a huge fan of their "Wax Box EP" and this track blows everything they've ever done out of the water. (only available on this soundtrack)
6/10 Wishes - Coal Chamber- Once again, unreleased. Not their best work but not bad by any means.
One of the best Metal soundtracks available, right up there with "The Crow", "Dracula 2000" & "Freddy vs Jason".
Heavy Metal 2000 Soundtrack, a great buy!.......2000-10-07
The HM2K Soundtrack is excellent - Whether your into Industrial/Grindcore metal, or a little Psychopathic Hiphop, it will have a song(s) for you. And the limited edition comes with an exclusive CD-ROM with all kinds of cool HM2K stuff on it. If you are a fan of the original movie and soundtrack, this is a definte buy, especially for collectors.

THE CHILD DEVIANT.......2006-12-01
This is quite possibly as good as it's ever ganna get for this band. The lyrics are meaningful and intelligent, the music is well composed, and the album is well engineered and produced. Godhead have a typical neo-industrial/radio-gothic style that is hardley anything original....Nevertheless, it's the sincerity of this record that makes it special to fans. It's well worth checking out.
Godhead Is Great Godhead Is Good.......2004-01-04
Well just to let you know I listen to a lil of everything so don't think I am classafied as a so called Goth or Metalhead. Anyway I saw Godhead at a show in Nashville TN and they were one of three bands playing the other 2 were Static-X and ENDO well ENDO sucked ass and i was starting to get pissed that i paid for the ticket then these guys get on stage and KICK-ASS!! As soon as they came on i ran to the booth up front and bought this album for $10. Well the band i was there to see was Static-X and ofcource they rocked the house as well but to hear godhead for the first time was a major shock and beleave me you need this album!!!!!!
A Great Debut........2003-10-10
If Marilyn Manson went lighter on the metal and heavier on the goth, he'd probably sound something like Godhead, which isn't surprising, considering Manson produced the album. After bouncing around record labels and releasing several low-budget productions, the band finally finds a home for its unique blend of industrial goth-rock with Manson's Posthuman label on Priority Records. Manson does for 2000 Years of Human Error what Trent Reznor did for Antichrist Superstar by taking a band that was already great and adding some extra spike to the punch. Manson's influence is undeniable (he even puts his patented sandpaper vocals to use in Break You Down), but its Godhead's flare for combining dramatic, gothy rock with catchy dance beats over atmospheric, industrial soundscapes that steals the show. From loud rockers The Reckoning, Inside You, and Break You Down to the mellow sounds of Tired Old Man and I Hate Today, Godhead demonstrates a knack for creating emotional yet vaguely creepy music that just happens to rock considerably.
Godhead Rocks.......2003-08-05
Afther seeing the music video elenor rigby i want to get this cd. and it is a awsome cd. if your a fan or like groups like marilyn manson and nine inch nails you should check out this one.
Great goth metal.......2003-03-27
When it comes to the subject of goth metal, I've only ever been fond of Type O Negative and Marilyn Manson (if you consider him goth metal that is), but Godhead (a band pretty much discovered by Manson) is a band that has much more to them than just being classified as goth metal. The music itself is simple enough, but the lyrics are nicely done and well written, and "2000 Years of Human Error" is quite an above average album. Opening track "The Reckoning" is the album's standout track, and other great songs include "Sinking", "Backstander", "I Hate Today", and the surprisingly good cover of The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" are the most memorable, and while the album does have a few parts where it seems it drags, "2000 Years of Human Error" remains a great album. If you like music like Type O, Manson, White Zombie, KMFDM, or Gravity Kills, then check out Godhead, you'll be pleasently surprised.

W.A.S.P........2007-01-15
I am a W.A.S.P. fan and this is a CD I play often. It's really good.
WASP more than meets the image.......2006-11-13
WASP has cultivated an image that is not reflective of this really great rock and roll band. Somewhere along the line WASP took off and developed a small cult following using costumes and on-stage antics (throwing raw meat, explatives etc.) This has kept a much larger main-stream audience away from their music. I was recently aquainted with the WASP catalog through the XM radio station the BoneYard. This is a great rock and roll band. Forget the image and the antics and just "Let the music do the talking" these guys are great!!
It's ok, but not really the best.......2006-01-27
This starts of with a cover of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting," which sounds okay, but seems out of place. It should have been placed alongside the last three tracks. It's great that they included "Animal(F**k like a beast). It's the one that put them in the spotlight. Basically you get mostly songs from thier first two albums. That's great, but after "Sex Drive," it seems like they just threw stuff in.
This might be good if you're already a fan, but not if you want to get to know the band. This album frankly gave me the wrong impression because I did that. W.A.S.P. isn't all about sex and swearing, and it's obvious if you take the time to go through the actual albums themselves. I want to give it a really good rating, but it just seems like a sloppy work. Heck, the cover art looks like it came from a home printer. If you must buy it, get a used copy. It's simply not worth shelling out the full price.
Good hits cd.......2005-02-22
This is a pretty good compliation CD. Its a re-issue of the previous "vol. 1" greatest hits cd.
I think 3-4 more songs could have been fit on this cd. It clocks in only a little over a hour. I also dont like how some of the tracks have been remastered (or lack thereof). Why "Saturday night alright for fighting" is on here is beyond me.
The packaging is a bit cheezy. It looks like it was printed on a inkjet printer. It contains a small booklet with some liner notes and info about the band. There are also some pictures in the booklet.
It might be better just to get the first 2 cds though(W.A.S.P. and The last command), since they contain the best songs anyways.

A hodge-podge of influences on this record.......2007-04-20
White Zombie was such an interesting band...they seemed like an anomaly among the mediocrity that abounded for so long in the mid to late 90s. I loved la sexorcisto and this album was a solid follow-up. The most intriguing thing about this band is the vast array of influences that combine to make their sound.
Astro Creep is more industrial and driving than la sexorcisto. If you like groove metal pick up that record...because at times when I listen to this record it almost seems like you can hear the metronome pounding in the background. The production and guitar sound on this is a vast improvement over la sexorcisto, but that record still eclipses astro creep.
The virtual absence of guitar solos was the main sticking point...Their guitar player, J yuenger, had some of the most frantic, meandoring solo work on la sexorcisto--but that is what made it interesting. His playing on Astro Creep is almost minimalistic at times.
Blood, milk & sky is the opus on this album--that song has an amazing arrangement and probably best sums up their array of musical influences. That would be the track that everyone should hear off this album...not more human than human, which is good, but suffered from overplay.
I, Zombie. I, Love it.......2006-08-13
I recently bought this CD again after having it stolen a few years ago. And i have to say I love it every bit as much today as I did when it was first released. White Zombie is a metal band like no other, with a sound that will never be repeated by any band. WZ is the perfect combination of musicians who combine metal music with horror movies. It's a fantastic CD that EVERY metal fan should own.
More Human Than Human!.......2001-07-20
This Cd is the Best! The songs are all awsome and the cool audio clips from old horror movies makes the music even better. The best one of whole bunch is More Human Than Human. Too bad they disbanded, but then again Rob Zombie is even better Solo. Check out Hellbilly Deluxe!
5 stars even isn't enough.......2001-02-02
This album is awesome it's the best one by White Zombie except La Sexcorcisto passes it up so if u like Rob Zombie or just one white zombie song get this or the one that has the song on it so buy this one and La Sexcorcisto.
Simply the best....Better than all the rest...!!!.......2001-01-29
White Zombie was a great band.....probobly the best band the world has ever known besides Rob Zombie. Astro-Creep 2000 is a great album...one of the greatest things I have ever heard....after I first heard "More Human Than Human" and "Super Charger Heaven" I was hooked! This album is one of the heaviest and weirdest things you will ever listen to.....pretty much overall this is simply a great album....This is a must buy...BUY THIS CD NOW!!!

i dont mind this movie at all, a passable (if obviously) american attempt at mature animation with adequate music, the name of the movie alone undoubtably lets a majority of people know if they'll enjoy it. one thing is driving me utterly mad, and this may not be the place to ask, but the song in the scene where Tyler is marching on the holy land with his reptile army, i may just be missing it, but i cannot find it on this album.. if someone else has, or knows the song i'd greatly appreciate it.
Worthy of the name Heavy Metal!.......2001-12-06
I am not a metal music fan, not normally. The cast for Heavy Metal 2000 is what got me to watch the movie. Billy Idol's "Buried Alive" got me to buy the CD. I couldn't stop listening to the CD once it arrived. If you aren't into heavy metal music then this is the CD for you! You get eveything from the heavy metal spectrum: from unintelligable screaming (Puya's "Tirale") to reflective and slightly psychodelic (Bauhaus' "The Dog's A Vapour). This CD is not tame but the music is very well done and the songs are inventive. I especially like "Inside The Pervert Mound" by Ziltch. This is the kind of music you play when you're driving and don't care how many cops are chasing you. 18 songs and I only skip three of them, damn good for a soundtrack! And Billy Idol continues to hold center stage! A worthy companion to the original Heavy Metal soundtrack.
One of my most played soundtracks.......2001-10-24
Heavy Metal 2000 is probably one of the best soundtracks I have ever purchased in my life. It has a good variety of modern metal. You have grunge-metal (Full Devil Jacket, Monster Magnet) techno-metal (MDFMK, Apartment 26) full on heavy metal (Pantera, Machine Head) and many others in between. Most soundtracks I find myself having to skip over a bunch of tracks just to get to the few I do like, but I like just about every song on this CD. Time for the run-down:
1. F.A.K.K. U - Ok, sorry, I just don't listen to this. Kinda dumb. 1/5
2. Monster Magnet - Silver Future - Probably my favorite song on this soundtrack. Different from a lot of their newer stuff. Great lyrics and a just overall powerful song. 5/5
3. MDFMK - Missing Time - I liked them better when they were referred to as KMFDM, but this track is surprisingly good and different from most of the stuff on here. 4/5
4. Pantera - Immortally Insane - It's definetly a Pantera song. Fans who like their heaviest stuff will probably love this song. Fits the movie really well. 5/5
5. Zilch - Inside the Pervert Mound - One of the tracks that I just don't like. Doesn't do much for me. 1/5
6. Insane Clown Posse - Dirtball - The WORST group on this CD. 1/5
7. System of a Down - Storaged - Short but sweet. This song was taken from the Sugar EP which is now out of print, so diehard SOAD fans should track this song down. 5/5
8. Days of the New - Rough Day - To be honest, I didn't like their first CD, but the new stuff is pretty good. More than just your typical grunge. 4/5
9. Sinisstar - Psychosexy - One of Fred Durst's new bands. Actually pretty good and different than most bands out there. A very punk-ish track. 4/5
10. Queens of the Stone Age - Infinity - Heavier than most of their stuff. Sounds a lot like the Doors. Fits the movie really well though. 5/5
11. Machine Head - Alcoholocaust - Different than anything on the Burning Red. Kind of a muddy track though, not up to standards. 4/5
12. Full Devil Jacket - Green Iron Fist - One of my favorite new bands. Grunge mixed with heavy metal. Josh screams more on this track than in most of their other songs. 5/5
13. Hate Dept. - Hit Back - I had never heard of these guys until this soundtrack. Not really my type of music. Too much like Marilyn Manson. 1/5
14. Puya - Tirale - Very good use of the bass on this song. Sort of mellow for Puya, but still, a very very great track. 5/5
15. Apartment 26 - Dystopia - Not one of their best songs, but can be cool to listen to if you're in the mood for something different. 3/5
16. Billy Idol - Buried Alive - Typical Billy Idol. Even though he's old, he's still got it. A very moody, creepy track. 4/5
17. Coal Chamber - Wishes - Way better than a lot of their album stuff. Wishes is a B-Side from Chamber Music. Very energetic. 5/5
18. Bauhaus - Dog's a Vapour - I realize a lot of people who bought this soundtrack were fans of this band and wanted something new, but it's definetly not my type of music and it's really boring to me. 1/5
Overall, Heavy Metal 2000 is a really great soundtrack with only about 3 songs to avoid. It's a good mix, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to discover some newer bands.
THE BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER!.......2001-05-21
When I heard there was a new Heavy Metal movie coming out, I was more excited about the music than I was about the movie. As soon as I heard who all was on the soundtrack, it was like a [really good] dream come true. The best song is undoubtedly Pantera's "Immortally Insane", which is also one of the best songs they've ever written. The other great songs are by Monster Magnet, MDFMK, Machine Head, Days of the New, System of a Down, Billy Idol, Queens of the Stone Age, and yes, even the Insane Clown Posse. Unlike every other soundtrack, there is no filler, every song is fantastic and epic sounding, it's just too bad the new movie isn't as good as the soundtrack.
Loud. VERY loud........2001-03-21
If it's at all possible, the soundtrack to HEAVY METAL 2000 is even louder and nastier than its two-decade-old precedant, so much so that it will leave your ears ringing and melt your speakers. This certainly doesn't disappoint, and anyone who adores loud, loud, LOUD music to thrash your hair around to and make the neighbors move will be in heaven (or hell, whichever term they personally prefer to use). Your parents are guaranteed to hate this collection with a screaming passion, and it will also upset your pets. Now with all that aside, there *is* a problem here: the first album was smart enough to balance out the loud numbers with soft touches, such as Donald Fagan's lovely contribution. Without this ingredient, the album has no balance and slows down only in its final track. As a result the songs can sound monotonous, especially on the first listening, and give the impression that they are a lot less original individually than they really are. Having said that, you'll also be relieved to hear that there's no DEVO on this one (I always hated them)! My other gripe has to do with the fact that both movies' original scores have yet to see the light of CD day, and that's a shame because they are both spectacular. As for the one HEAVY METAL 2000 album currently available, it is very much worth having and a highly enjoyable collection---but I warn you. Take this one in small doses. Very small. Otherwise, unless you're at a party where the mood needs to be set on fast forward, it will sound like sheer white noise.

An Adam Sandler movie that stars Ozzy Osbourne as himself, Rodney Dangerfield as Satan's dad, and Harvey Keitel as Satan is bound to enlist a similarly high-profile collection of music acts to underscore things. Sure enough, a quick scan of the bands signed on reveals a pretty solid "Who's Who" of late-'90s hard rock. In this context, Cypress Hill are positively old-school. However, their track, "Rock Superstar," sounds perfectly slotted next to the molten screed of P.O.D., the moody murk of Incubus, and the machine head cutting edge of the Deftones (represented twice here, especially revealing in the final acoustic track). Insolence prove the merging of hard rock and hip-hop is something not about to go away. The addition of Muse and Powerman 5000 makes this an especially well-attended gathering. The only real question is, where's Ozzy? --Rob O'Connor

Amazing Compilation.......2004-02-29
Here is a compilation full of wellknowns and a few unknowns. Most people (like one of the featured reviews mentions) are unaware of the British rock band Muse who contributes their track "Cave" at #10 on this cd. The track is off their 1999 album "Showbiz" which is a musthave for any rock fan.
all in all, its an amazing cd!
Great CD, But Missing Some Songs.......2003-07-31
I bought this soundtrack after seeing the movie Little Nicky a bunch of times, and I thought to myself that it seemed like some songs were missing. After checking on the Internet, I found out that I was right! A bunch of great rock songs from the past (like "Running With The Devil" and "Highway to H*ll") were in the movie, but not on the soundtrack! Also, there are a couple of recent songs from the movie that aren't on the CD either. But, I do like this CD. Linkin Park's "Points of Authority", POD's "School of Hard Knocks" and Cypress Hill's "(Rock) Superstar" are my favorite songs. I also like "Cave" by Muse, "When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000 and "Pardon Me" by Incubus are really good. All in all, I recommend this CD to people who like rock/metal and the movie Little Nicky.
3 Stars because it's missing key tracks.......2003-04-14
When I saw Little Nicky in the theatres, I thought to myself, "This movie's got some pretty good music! Maybe I'll buy the soundtrack." I did, but I stupidly forgot to look at the tracklist. Nearly HALF of the songs from the movie aren't on here! Ironically, the songs that were omitted are the BEST ONES OF ALL. Read on to see what you don't get on it.
Ozzy Osbourne - Flying High Again, Mama I'm Coming Home, No More Tears
Stampeders - Sweet City Woman
Chicago - Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, Saturday In The Park
Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane
Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You
Van Halen - Runnin' With The Devil
ACDC - Highway To Hell
Foo Fighters - Everlong
There are also Zebrahead and Lit tracks missing
The omissions of the above tracks is inexcusable, but still, the rest of the soundtrack DOES whip out some pretty good modern rock. The Linkin Park track, Points Of Authority, is a great example of this. Likewise, you get a remix of Disturbed's Stupify you can't get anywhere else (to my knowledge.) This is a good soundtrack overall, but if you plan to buy it, make sure it's got the song(s) you want!
Great with 1 flaw.......2002-08-24
This cd was tight! Disturbed, Linkin Park, P.O.D., and Cypress Hill make this a great rock cd. Theres only one problem... Why the heck is Filter on it?!! They aren't a rock band! Other than that, It's 2 big thumbs up
De las mejores bandas sonoras que he visto.......2001-11-22
Excelente disco.

Another classic.......2006-05-31
In the arts the term 'classic' refers to a work that you keep on having to come back to because you can never quite get your head around it. Thus, 'classics' are written by the especially gifted who resist cheap pigeon-holing. Schenker is like this - his music is definitely 'hard rock', but beyond that he resists easy categorisation. His works have so much going on in them that there is normally more to hear even after multiple listens. Dreams and Expressions is no exception to this. At first one might think it less immediately impacting than your average instrumental electric guitar album. Many shredders seem able to initially create a momentary 'wow' factor that instantly catches the ear but which then rapidly fades to a 'boredom' factor. It's not like this with Schenker or with Dreams and Expressions. It's more like on first listen a small seed is planted. One is perhaps not blown away but more intrigued. So, one listens again and the seed grows. Getting more interested, the listener listens a third time and the seed starts to grow big time. Soon, one has a whole rain forest to contend with - something that it's hard ever to get bored with. Dreams and Expressions just keeps 'moving on' and changing things before any boredom can set in. I'm still hearing fresh things now after dozons of listens. It's heavy, melodic, eclectic, joyful, technical, and genre-redefining. One does not miss a vocalist, but if a vocalist is required get 'Tales of Rock n Roll' which has some affinities with Dreams and Expressions but with vocal parts added. Both albums are classics from the world's best rock guitarist. If the average generic shredder seeks to make an IMpression (which presupposes only vanity), Schenker definitely seeks to create an EXpression (which presupposes the whole richness of what it means to be a human being at the same time as risking rejection through not playing the game of simply 'trying to impress'). So, Dreams and Expressions is very aptly named.
quit now.......2005-09-25
if you're a guitarist, put your guitar down now and order this album!!!! don't pick that axe back up yet......listen to this album closely. if your goal is to be a great guitarist, listen to this album more. if your goal is to be the worlds best guitarist and an artist who will one day create not only a masterpiece, but also to demonstrate a mastery of the brush, the canvas and the paint used in the process.......forget it! mr. schenker beat ya to it!!!
Not as good as "Adventures", but still fun.......2005-03-05
Hard to follow what I thought was a perfect album ("Adventures in Imagination"), but MS does a pretty good job. This is more of a concept album. I think his hardcore fans will probably enjoy it more than some people not familiar with Michael. I have to admit, I was thrown by the production. Some songs are broken up into very small bits and end when you would not think they would. However, the mind-altering guitar work is still there. I pray this guy keeps making records like this. No offense, but I think UFO and MSG have outlived their shelf-life. Michael as a solo player, with no singer, is what I like best.
another set of great riffs.......2004-03-21
i have heard him on ufo,,,,, msg and now on this cd,,,,, the best track is number 8 :lightning riffs: will now require a relisten to the cassettes with macauley to get the fine points,
this is an interesting cd and will take careful attention to get all the notes and sequences. As others have said he uses a variety of moods , rhythms ,,,,,,, i imagine at many concerts he expands on the basic themes of any of these cuts..... remember : number 8 is the best one on this
No need for a vocalist.......2004-01-13
In this follow up to his first electric instrumental album (the excellent "Adventures of the Imagination"), Michael ties together a series of 21 "songlets". Basically musical ideas and themes that he came up with while fiddling around with his guitar, these are edited together to create what is probably the best heavy metal backround album of all time. Released to help pay for the building of his studio (which his now ex wife promptly stole from him), this is more of a one off album for people who are already fans. That is not to say that the uninitiated will not enjoy hearing a man who is more creative and expressive with a one minute musical statement than most bands are with entire albums. Feel free to read that last sentence again so that it can sink in. Backed by the ever impressive Barry Sparks on bass and Shane Gaalaas on drums, this is a great high energy album to drive home from work with.

Tongue-in-cheek thrash played by All Stars.......2006-08-30
I love thrash metal, and I especially love the Swedish variety. Terror 2000 play straight forward euro thrash that, due to its member status (I can't recall the exact details, but Terror 2000 features members or ex-members of Soilwork and Darkane), combines elements of the aforementioned parenthetical bands to provide some stripped down but skillfully and energetically performed metal. The music is blazingly fast, comparable in this respect to Carnal Forge in its relentlessness, and more than quenches my ongoing thirst for new thrash.
The vocals are what stands out the most on this album, which at times can be both good and bad. There is plenty of typical screaming work going on highly reminicient of Soilwork's vocal patterns, but at times the vocalist employs some Kreator-esque melody work and Slayer shrieks, with more or less success. There are a few moments of awkwardness in the lyrics with lines such as 'I want to hit your face with a baseball' and something about chocolate icecream, but seeing as how killer the music is I haven't found it hard to forgive the goofy parts of this album. Heck, it's even nice to hear some metal with a sense of humor.
The recording is a bit thin for my tastes but clear nonetheless. All the musicians are obviously talented and this, of course, makes sense because they've all been, or are still currently, involved in big metal outfits. If you're hungry for new thrash and enjoy Darkane, Carnal Forge, Soilwork (mainly their older stuff), and the like, check these guys out.
Bang yA HEad.......2006-01-09
These guys have proven themselves as powerful minds as muscians in their respective bands, this is definately a step forward for this side project, of course their mainstream bands have more success, but this project isnt about payment, at least not in cash form, the paoff here is that they are having fun, each some is pure F**** metal, 'Speed' shows off his many voices on this album his range has got to be the best for sweedish metal, from high pitched screams to guteral punches to raspy snake bites, just listen to track 2 and if youre not impressed then dont bother, this is pure fun for all. all who love metal that is. side note, it really captures 80s thrash as if its still strong.
