4 out of 5 stars Tremendously Underrated Cannibal..........2007-03-30

Is this their best album? No. However, for sheer creativity, it is certainly one of their best (even surpasses "Kill" for me). "Bloodthirst" is in the running for 2nd best CC album ever (after "The Bleeding," of course) with "The Wretched Spawn" and "Kill." It's hard to say which I like the best, because they're all so good. "Bloodthirst" is solid all the way through, which can't be said of albums such as "Gore Obsessed" or "Gallery of Suicide" (the band's weakest two albums). If you love death metal, or any type of hard metal, you will love "Bloodthirst," end of story. Buy it now!

5 out of 5 stars The way death metal should be.......2006-09-05

I'll admit I listen to a lot of heavy music, but I'm not too big into death metal. Cannibal Corpse for me though is a favorite that I can't just pass up. I've heard a lot of death metal bands, a lot of them sounding alike and very much the same, and some kinda weak. Corpse is the exception. Fast, pummeling, energetic, each album: a soundtrack to a riot. Real death metal. The guitars lacerate, the vocals courtesy of George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher chew you up and spit you out, and the drums and bass pound you into dust as the title of the first song on this album suggests, no pun intended. Every musician shines on each release including guitarists Pat O'Brien and Jack Owen (his spot currently being occupied by Rob Barrett), and bassist Alex Webster.

Bloodthirst is certainly not THE best album, but it is a keeper for sure if you're like me and you're just starting to really listen to the band.

4 out of 5 stars Bloodthirst Is Everything Death Metal Should Be (For Beginners).......2006-06-01

Of course, if you have ever listened to any death metal then you have heard of Cannibal Corpse and how disgusting they are and blah blah blah. All of this is absolute B.S. George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher grunts his way through this whole CD and you can't understand him 95% of the time. Bloodthirst is by far not Cannibal Corpse's best release, but it sure is heavy, fast and catchy. It is said that "Hammer Smashed Face" is CC's most mainstream song. That makes absolutely no sense since Chris Barnes moans and grunts even more indecipherable vocals than Fisher. I think a good song for a CC newbie might be "The Spine Splitter" or "Blowtorch Slaughter." Bloodthirst begins with "Pounded Into Dust" and then the record takes off from there, never letting up in intensity. Every song is very good. CC has improved very much over the years. The guitar playing is superb, the bass is in time and quite audible, the drumming has got to be some of the best in the business. It is so ridiculously fast and pounding. Vocals are very good, but I have to admit if you're not used to the gutteral grunting of grinding death metal it begins to grate on you ears. I highly reccomend Bloodthirst as a starting point for all CC newbs. It is like a break-in CD, onve you like tghis CC becomes a lot more likeable. And for all of the dumbasses who review Cannibal Corpse with 1 star I wish you would just go back to revirwing Coldplay, U2 and Green Day. One guy labeled himself as a Rock/Metal fanatic and then went on to give several CC, metallica, Slayer, Slipknot and Morbid Angel releases one star. After clicking his reviews button you find that he is really into techno and easy listening [...]. Good God. Cannibal Corpse Rocks, buy this album!

3 out of 5 stars Like Other Reviewers Have Said..........2006-02-04

... this is a solid Cannibal Corpse album, but offers nothing new or particularly invigorating. Everything sounds great: production, musicianship, vocals. All the tracks are entertaining. "Pounded into Dust", "Dead Human Collection", "Unleashing the Bloodthirsty" and "Blowtorch Slaughter" being the best tracks. Unfortunately there are no tracks of the magnitude of say "Hammer Smashed Face", "Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead" or "Devoured by Vermin". As such this is an entertaining but non essential record by the band. Newcomers should start off with "Tomb of the Mutilated", "The Bleeding" and "Vile". "Live Cannibalism" is also a good place to start.

3 out of 5 stars Meh..........2005-12-04

This particular Cannibal Corpse album sounded uninspired and formulaic to me, plus there was not enough variation in the song structures. If i remember right it was just WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!(end song),(next song)WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! and so on, and so on, until they had enough songs for an album. This one got SOLD! I much prefer Gallery of Suicide (their best imo) and Gore Obsessed.

5 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece.......2000-03-12

This is an incredible album. It has got to be Cannibal Corpse's tightest, heaviest, most technical album yet. Plenty of blast beats and Corpsegrinder's vocals, along with their trademark riffing make this a cd that could be listened to every day.

5 out of 5 stars awesome.......2000-02-23

this is Cannibal Corspe best CD, the other guy here is a total idiot, dont listen to him he knows nothing. This Cd has speed, heaviness and technical talents. fave song: blowtorch slaughter.

1 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE !.......2000-02-22

Nothing new in this CD. If you're a Cannibal Corpse fan, you will not like it. If you're not, you'll hate it.

4 out of 5 stars not bad, not bad at all!.......2000-12-21

Quite an entertaining CD. CC has this image of being a bunch of monsters which (IMHFO) is rapidly becoming outdated AND boring, but, it's a great band nonetheless. I've got this CD and I pretty much like it. They have had better sound in the past, but it's a lot better then eg. Suffocation's "Breeding the Spawn". If you are a fan, I say: a definite must-have. Else, try it and who knows? YOu might get infected!

2 out of 5 stars NOT THE ALBUM I'VE EXPECTED FROM THEM.......2000-05-17

For some reason, their new album didn't interest me much at all..guitars sounded soo muddy, and the drums didn't sound good. Theres a IMPORT that has a BONUS TRACK NOT AVAILABLE IN U.S. Its called "Confession" (which i've never heard it) Well, its a little or so so good (but not god) album.

5 out of 5 stars Cannibal Corpse fans come hither!!!.......2001-02-21

This, although essentially being the same as the US release, does however have an additional song called "Confessions" as you may have noticed. This song is better than "Hammer Smashed Face"!! Believe me when I tell you YOU NEED TO BUY THIS IF YOU COLLECT CANNIBAL CORPSE OR LIKE THEM IN THE LEAST!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars KICK A** Cd.......2000-02-22

This Cd definetally defines cc. I saw these guys in milwaukee and they were the best death metal band. Only one song defines cc on this album and that is Pounded into Dust.
