I also purchased this tape when it first came out and it really ministered to me back then. after watching the reunion this year and after years of backsliding i got inspiration to give my life back to the Lord and leave all of my fears and strife behind. god bless commissioned still saving souls

Can we say... classic?.......2004-02-10

To me a classic song is one that transcends time. It's a song that has relevance long after it's released. Commissioned's music is classic. Read their lyrics from even the late '80s albums and the songs still relevance (i.e. Perilous Times). If you buy this album, you will be ministered to through music from this past. This ministry has helped me grow as a person. And I, along with countless others, consider myself "their biggest fan".

Timeless songs.......2003-12-20

I purchased this in tape form during my college years. The songs challenged me to strive for integrity, simply because "Ordinary Just Won't Do" The words easily come back some 13 years later.

Timeless - like a good hymn..........2002-02-21

Several years after it's release, some of these tunes still minister to me in my sleep (a good sign that they were God-inspired.) I was pleased to find the CD version available during Commissioned's "Reunion Live" recording, in late 2001 here in Detroit. Like a good traditional hymn, this recording will indefinitely inspire folks of all ages. "There's No Excuse" not to own a copy!

It still touches my soul.......2000-03-24

I purchased this cassette when first came out, and it still encourages me to this day. Commissioned has not only helped reshape the sound of gospel music but r&b too(see Boyz to Men, R. Kelly, Brian McKnight, K-Ci and JoJo, and Guy for details). But inspite of smooth vocals and slamming tracks the message in the music has never changed or wavered; they still seek to share God's word with his people.

Grand Illusion is the Swedish band made up of seasoned veteran rockers previously worked as PROMOTION founded in 1986. The band music reminds me of dynamic rock such as STYX and JOURNEY. Their previous work THE VIEW FROM THE TOP was such a masterpiece with a number of great sing-along songs.

After establishing their style in last album they proceed on a bit of challenge to make it a bit mightier and heavier. DEVIL'S ADVOCATE the opener shows they can rock hard to the edge but retaining their excellent chorus. LOVE LIES BEHIND is also a heavyset addition and it is excelletly made. Most of the songs included are the extention of last album and the production and mixing made huge progress comparing to the last one. THE BEST IS YET TO COME the first single from the album is culmination of what they have achieved through their long career. 1982 shows the pop and catchy side of the band and BACK TO YESTERDAY will encapture you by its well-hooked melodies.

Highly recommended for STYX, SURVIVOR, PRIDE OF LIONS, JOURNEY and DAMN YANKEES fans.
