Album Description

Inspired by the sublime beauty of Guatemala, the CD is an impressionistic encounter with ancient Mayan sites and the old city of Antigua with its fine ruins. Ritual, dream, and solemnity blend to evoke a lost world veiled in mystery. Primarily solo piano, with subtle, atmospheric instrumentation.

Album Description

A cyberjazz blend of alien voices, ambient textures and extraterrestrial grooves that will take the listener on a journey out of this world. There are more galaxies in the universe than there are stars in a single galaxy such as our own Milky Way, which alone contains some 100 billion stars. Even if there is only one planet with life in each galaxy, that would still leave over a trillion planets with life. From the rhythmic signal of a pulsar to the harmonic spectrum of vibrating atoms, music is a fundamental part of the universe. Other intelligent beings surely understand this, and if so, their music must be wonderful and strange, yet somehow familiar. This CD explores the musical language of these other imagined worlds.

This CD takes the listener to places he or she may never have expected to go. Dreamlike and accomplished, it skillfully blends the gorgeous piano compositions for which O'Bergh is known with lovely, haunting and otherworldly elements. "Songs from Other Planets" is the best CD yet from a talented composer who deserves widespread recognition.

This band is exellente. i have this album and the prophecies and both are great but i like timescape more cause of the cool vocal riffs. Do the world a favor and invest in some awesomeness before your brain turns into emo mush.

    A good debut from this guitar dude Jarno. He can certainly play and is very structured in style-would have liked to here him let loose a little more.This guy certainly practiced all his scales.

    A very clasically inspired release - Hard to catergorise, sounds a little like stratovarius but with a stronger influence towards a more dominent classical sound and structures

    I would have given this 5 stars but I don't like the last 2 songs. Mr Chastain who wrote the lyrics, seems to have been beat up emotionally over the years as you can here in some of the songs-Dreamer is a good example of this, but in saying that it's a damm good song. I'd have to say that the first 8 songs are good.

    If you want to here a good guitarist, some very good songs, a very good vocal performance(this guy apparently lost his voice after recording this album),then get this CD.

    A very solid effort all around from the whole band, as well as D.T.CHASTAIN. It's refreshing to see some new talent like Jarno and guys like George Bellas who play so melodic while still keeping the music heavy...Some really good guitar/keyboard runs that remind me of Stratovarius(except Jens is still the best). Also some killer bass/drum lines throughout. Singer better than averege...perhaps a Jarno/Chastain project in the future like Chastain/Harris.

    A band / project centered around the prodigious talents of 24 year old Finnish guitarist Jarno Keskinen, who plays all guitars, bass & keyboard on this album. Although he wrote the music, the lyrics and melodies were written by the producer (and guitar god) David T. Chastain.

    Unsurpingly the band does therefore retain a strong Chastian influence to their Symphony X style songs.

    The vocalist Stephen Fredrick sounds reminiscent of Graham Bonnet, and combined with some 80's style riffs does make the music sound surprisingly dated at times.

    As a guitarist, Jarno is a solid rhythm player with a surprisingly mature soloing style (competently structured solos rather than fretboard histrionics). However, I can't help thinking how impressive guys like Malmsteen, Becker & Gilbert were at a younger age!

    A solid enough debut that many bands would be proud of and certainly a guitarist to watch out for in the future.
