A terrible try to match Libera. Someone said it right: how dare those people use such marvellous voices to create such ugly
thing? Let Libera deal with amazing new age music, let Vienna Boys Choir continue being masters of their domains: classical music.

I was expecting something a lot better. One can't fault the choir for the recording. The fault lies with the director, arranger, and producer. The instrumental accompaniment over shadowed the boys singing. The arrangements of each song was too similar, and the boys sounded too restrained for this style. Pop is not the musical style of the Vienna Boys Choir. They need to stick what they do best - classical and sacred music.

The greatest thing about this CD is that it wasn't meant to be funny! Upon listening to "Burning Down The House", I was seized with a fit of hysterical laughter that nearly broke a rib. And the laughs keep coming. Need a smooth tune for that special gal, try "Fantasy", she will be yours! Need a good jogging tune, "Get Down" should serve your purpose. A CD that will offer hours of entertainment. Guaranteed.

I got this as a gift because my friend saw a holiday cd with Vienna Boys Choir at my house. My advice:listen to the music previews before you buy the cd. It's too freaky for me. Good Luck.

    Sir Thomas Allen makes the point in a note with this delightful collection of 25 ballads that he rates it beside his many recordings of music heavyweights like Wagner and Verdi. There is no need to justify his enthusiasm, for it is clear from the outset that he treats the music with the sort of complete respect that has made him one of our most-loved singers. It is too easy to be dismissive of this repertoire, but when it is taken at its own value and sung and played with honesty, as it is here, the results are heartwarming. Allen recalls hearing the songs in the family home following the two world wars, "a time when there seemed a need for reassurance." Perhaps that time is with us again, and these performances strike a chord. There are many old friends here and perhaps some new discoveries. Who can resist the beautifully constructed "Love, could I only tell thee" or that old potboiler "The Lost Chord", especially when given with such warmth?         Reading the above reviews and just plain common sense would have me believe this is not a real release. Certainly not new material. I have no doubt the band would not release such a title. Think before you buy.

        Hollywood, CA (March 18th 2004) - The label Horizon-Italy has recently released an unapproved album titled Burning House of Love. This album is not approved by GREAT WHITE. Rather the band condemns this release and asks all fans and friends not to purchase this album. They feel that the label is insensitive to the victims of the fire and are trying to capitalize on a tragic situation. This type of practice is called repackaging - record companies take previously released songs, put on a new cover with a new title.

        The band and their attorneys are working on stopping this release, as it is being sold under the GREAT WHITE name without GREAT WHITE'S permission. GREAT WHITE wants to apologize for any discomfort this may have caused, as they found out about this release much the same way as the fans - via the internet. It was of great shock to the GW camp.

        I have been a Great White fan since 1984. I have purchased most every one of their albums. I have seen them play "live" when they still had Tony and Mark in the band. This was a better more energetic line-up than what has emerged during the past 3 years. The band told the truth with the excellent "CAN'T GET THERE FROM HERE" LP. It was the last decent studio material from a true road tested group of American Rockers. The same material featured on "Burning House Of Love" can be found on the "Recovery" LP, and from the live "Stage" LP. This latest compilation is nothing but record company stupidity and greed.
        I feel bad for the remaining members of Great White for being put under the microscope for all of things that followed the horrible disaster in Rhode Island. Jack Russel is a fantastic singer, and I hope he will release more original music in the future. If you are new to the music of Great White, I strongly encourage you to buy the "Hooked" LP. It captured the band at their absolute best moment, and the music was superb. As for any new music from Great White, Jack Russel said it best in the song entitled "Maybe Someday" ;from the "Psycho City" LP.

        This is a Record company profiting from the misfortune of others and I feel bad for all the people who lost a loved one in this tragic Event. The band does not sanction this cd and the record company should be sued for this wicked act of bad taste. All Great white fans should know that this is not A Great White approved release!!!!!!!
