SHE TOUCHED MY HEART WITH THIS SONG! SHE TOUCHES MY HEART WITH ALL HER SONGS. I'VE BEEN A REBA FAN SINCE REBA FIRST STARTED RECORDING. UNFORTUNETLY DUE TO DISABILITY MY UNABLE TO ATTEND HER CONCERTS. I LISTEN TO ALL HER MUSIC THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND THE SOUNDS KEEP ME UP BEAT ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE REALLY FEEL AND HOW THEY PORTRAY THEMSELVES.     This is the second full length Twisted Roots album, that suprisingly has had no reviews. It is more mature than their freshman "Turn To Stone" album which was great as well. The songs were less aggressive and had a much more organic feel to them. There were times when the music carried me away, the ballad "Seven Days" would make a great video and hit single, whereas the futuristic sci-fi story of the closing track "Em" was a really cool offset to previous work. There was also "Blueface" which lulled me into a comfortable sleep-like stste then splashed water on my face. Great emotional conveyance. Great music, lyrics and performances.

    This is a great CD, bluesy, rock, some old sounding rock 'n roll with some great humor and terrific guitar playing. Check it out.

    Ghoultown couldn't put out a bad album if you held a 6 shooter to their collective temple. These guys consistently put out hard core gothabilly that could make you shiver in your velvet, here, gothy kids! I personally took a chance and bought the Album That Started It All, and this one is a gem!

    A local band that is just terrible. Needless to say it is bad. Some bands can at least crank one good song out but this is a prime example of music that is just plain wrong. Rent if you can but do not under any circumstances buy.

        Album Description

        INDIGOVERTIGO is the band's fourth CD release, and it packs a rhythmic wallop. Mark and longtime drummer Joe Costello, along with New York City native James Strain on bass, have concocted what may be the first (the only?) great blues album of the year. Endlessly surprising, infinitely crazed and above all infinitely swinging, this is a CD that has the power to restore jaded listeners to musical health. How can a record sound so loose yet not have a note of filler?

        The CD was recorded at Dockside Studios in Louisiana, and the swamp oozes from every cut. Mark has penned a folio of new tunes that continues to raise the bar for blues songwriting. Each song catches some element of the southern tradition and twists it into something new. "15 Minutes from Marie" updates the Louisiana two-step sound into a car driving anthem. "Shakin' in My Head" has a funk guitar break that'll curl your hair. "Dead End Town" takes the 12-bar format and turns it inside out over a lyric that is as fresh as today's headlines. Included is a cover of the Lennon/McCartney chestnut "You Can't Do That" roughed up into an improbable Texas blues taunt.

        Mark has said this is the band's best CD to date and he may be right. After so many years on the road, a natural feel pervades the mix. Co-produced by Mark and Memphis music guru Jeff Powell, this is one CD that'll rise right to the top of your stack.

        They're back! They're doing strange, and probably illegal things with guitars again! And most worryingly- they're still unmedicated! The Drews understand that sometimes you can cut deepest with a nylon string and a sense of life's absurdity. OK, so they're not going to be famous anytime soon- and I'm not expecting them to be overthrowing any of the larger fascist regimes (at least not yet). But the Drews are helping just a little with what Bill Hicks referred to as our need to evolve so that we can get on those UFOs and explore the universe together. Particular highlights on this CD include their paean to 'Nasty Girls' and their obligatory 'you'll get yours' song 'Not so Near to Here'. The Drews are proving that they have a talent for consistently well-crafted song-writing with fun and interesting guitar arrangements. I wish there were more Drewish people in the world.
