5 out of 5 stars Great CD from a now defunct band.........2007-07-03

It's an awesome CD, it features great vocals, and amazing arrangements, it is really a party CD, since when you play it, you can really enjoy some of the best eurodance/dance pop music there is.

This CD, can really change your mood if you're depressed, and turn you into a party animal

4 out of 5 stars Great CD! I Recommend!.......2007-03-10

I love this group! I love this cd, and the seller sent very promptly! Great service! I only gave this cd 4 stars, because the last track was fuzzy, the English Version; It came in sounding like too much bass...but other than that, I loved all the songs, and for different reasons! My favorites are Numai Tu, and of course, Dragostea Din Tei! I would recommend this cd to anyone who likes Euro-pop, and dance music! Good Cardio Workout! lol

Very happy with product and seller! Would recomed!!
If you like different pop music from other countries then this is definitly for you!!!
Fun for kids and cool to just sing along to (well do the best that you can, since it is ukranian!)
I recomend this to anyone with a sence of humor, or you just like to boogy!!

5 out of 5 stars Pure joy!.......2007-02-12

A person would have to be either hopelessly embittered or dead to not respond to this music! I got it because I am learning the Romanian language, and the lyrics are fun, beautiful, and clear. What a great surprise when it turned out that I loved all of the songs! This music is pure joy, and you can't sit still, even if you have never danced in your life. Their voices are exquisitely beautiful, and the melodies are amazingly complex. I am a musician...play cello...and I am going to transcribe these melodies for my instrument. Everyone here in America I share this music with falls in love with it, no matter what their age or tastes...this group was perfection! I am a hard rock fan, but these guys sold me in 5 seconds.

5 out of 5 stars Discozone.......2007-01-15

The best of Euro Pop club music. You will not be able to sit with this music on. All I hoped for and more, I was only familiar with one song on the disc but there are no bad tracks.

5 out of 5 stars Good Deal.......2007-07-12

This CD contains five mixes of a great song. Amazon is missing the track listing, but it is as follows (All Dragostea Din Tei):

1.) Original Romanian Mix (3:33)
2.) Original Italian Mix (3:35)
3.) DJ Ross Radio Mix (4:15)
4.) DJ Ross Extended Mix (6:22)
5.) Unu' In The Dub Mix (3:39)

As such, it contains all the tracks found in the "Import" CD of the same title, and on the DRM-encumbered iTunes release.

I personally love the Italian Mix and DJ Ross Extended Mix, which can be hard to find elsewhere. The DJ Ross Radio Mix is essentially nothing more than a shorter version of the Extended Mix, so IMHO it adds little of value to the album. Nonetheless, this CD was a great value and is a worthy purchase if you like Dragostea Din Tei.

5 out of 5 stars I love this song!! O Zone is super.......2007-07-06

I love this group! They are wonderful and just fun to listen too!
Happy music without rap. Sorry do not like rap for it's violence and over playing on killing and all things hurtful at most times. Some is not. But the negative is over played. O-zone is a happier sounding music. Well worth buying.

Dragostea Din Tei is on this CD and it is the ah-somest some ever!!! One of the stupidest love songs in a while but still!!! Oh just so you know it's romanian! numa numa tei

2 out of 5 stars Not the Vai I remember - more electronic beeps than electric guitar.......2007-03-11

I loved Vai's work twenty years ago, so I decided to pick up a newer album of his to see how it was. Vai had a way of making a guitar really sing in some melody but he could also rip out the metal type jams when he had to. This album seems not like any guitar album I have heard. It is a strange, ambient and oriental type of sound that again, does not sound like a guitar, or Vai himself was even around. Maybe it is just an experimental kind of album, but goodness what happened to some structure? This is not even noodling, some of this is like someone left the answering machine on and then let their five-year-old pound on multiple levels of xylophones with sticks. Some may think this is a masterpiece but my opinion is that it is an experimental album that tries to hard to come up with innovative sounds. In the meantime, where is the guitar?

3 out of 5 stars Good, not great........2006-07-16

I've been a very long time Vai fan, but never picked this album up until today. The opening track got me as I'm a huge fan of Indian music and culture. There was no needless soloing in it, just a powerful feeling. OOOO and Lucky Charms (which has a Flex-able vibe) are my two other favorite tracks. The vocal tracks just don't have much melody to them and can't hold a candle to the ones on Sex & Religion and Fire Garden. It's good to get if you're a Vai fan, but start with Passion & Warfare, Disturbing the Peace (Alcatrazz), or Eat 'em & Smile (David Lee Roth).

2 out of 5 stars Baffling...with few gems........2006-07-01

First, I'm a big fan of Steve's music. But this recording makes very little sense. The first five songs range from good to great. Then the last eight songs range from bad to confusing to dreadful. I can't understand how such a fantastic musician, with such great feeling, and depth of emotion can create such a mess. He has the skills!! I have most of Steve's recordings, and this stands out as a near disaster. Mostly disapointing.

4 out of 5 stars Really really good... but not as good as Fire Garden was........2006-06-27

This is a REALLY GOOD album... but not a GREAT one like Fire Garden. For most every song here I think of something very similar and slightly better on Fire Garden:

Compositions: "Lucky Charms" is the best here, and I love the tune; it's awesome, brilliant, and one of those "happy sounding" things that Vai is capable of pulling off. But in terms of composition, I'm not sure if he'll ever be able to top "Fire Garden Suite" (especially if you throw in "Bangkok" as the opener).

Vocal Ballads: "I'll be Around" and "Windows to the Soul" and "The Silent Within" are all good vocal ballads... but none are nearly as good, or as gut-wrenching as either of "Brother" or "All About Eve".

Instrumental Ballads: "Frank" is a good emotional instrumental to Frank Zappa, but is still nothing compared to either "Hand on Heart" or "Warm Regards"

Jammin' Rockers: "Jibboom" is a nice jammin' tribute to SRV (along the lines of SRV's "Scuttle Buttin'") and Vai does jam really well in it... but he jams well in the "Crying Machine" and "Dying Day" too; (and actually, his best shredding is on Alien Love Secrets, or maybe his live DVD's).

Vocal Rockers: "Here I Am" and "Asian Sky" are both good and actually catchy tunes, but c'mon: "Little Alligator" was so good he named his volume pedal after it, and "Aching Hunger" also measures favorably to anything found here).

Other than that, the rest is various filler. Of course, with Vai, even the filler is extremely good and worth listening to, but overall, given the clear superiority of Fire Garden, the best I can do here is 4 stars. It's good... just not spectacular the way Fire Garden was.

Summary: if you're new to Vai, I'd recommend "Fire Garden" first, then "Alien Love Secrets", then this one along with "Passion and Warfare" and "Alive in an Ultra World." His "Live at Astoria" DVD is great too.

5 out of 5 stars Say Bach, Wagner, Rachmaninoff ... and Vai.......2005-12-20

This is one of the great albums of rock.
To me the best of this work is Tracks 8 & 9: The Silent Within is about what it means to be a human being. ("God only knows and He ain't talkin'.") I'll Be Around is about being someone for someone else. Very profound and beautiful.
We're talking about a composer of tremendous musical creativity and religious depth, in the true heritage of Bach, Wagner and Rachmaninoff.
Actually, Steve Vai's career very much resembles that of Rachmaninoff: In his 20's one of the great virtuosos of his instrument, then transformed into a composer of extraordinary creativity, depth and beauty.
One wonders, what's going on at Rolling Stone? Here, if anywhere, one expects to find people who can recognise great talent, especially when it's splashed at their front door. "Fire Garden", "The Ultra Zone" and "Real Illusions: Reflections" should be way up there on the list of best albums.
I think I have part of the answer: Till recently, there has been a schism between rock and religion. One sees that within the Vai community: Many of his enthusiastic fans have had problems with his recent Ultra Zone and Real Illusions.
Well, welcome to the present. Rock has come of age. Good rock today is about God-togetherness - or loss of it. And it's not standard hallelujah-cliches, but in the great tradition of Bach, Wagner and Rachmaninoff.
There's one thing that mystifies me about this album: Why is the volume here lower than on all other Vai-albums? (I have an entirely official recording.)

5 out of 5 stars Technology Meets Spirituality.......2000-02-22

Upon my first listening to these impressive works I was moved, once again, by the element of the "Spirit" that Steve incorporates into his music. I believe he is truly driven by this force. It is heard in his exploration of the universally known musical expressions from India, to Asia, and Tibet. Of course, he is second to none in expressing his own thoughts and ideas. He has such a deep understanding of the human voice, and how to utilize it through his guitar. I am humbled by his deepness of feeling throughout all of his music, from the very first time I listened to him on the floppy record "Attitude Song" which came in an old edition of Guitar Player Magazine, way back when, to his current work "The Ultra Zone." His song to, or about, Frank Zappa is very touching. "OOOO" is such a fun and wonderful thought. I love all of this album, and it is a permanent part of my cd player now. I love to listen to Steve, and look forward, once again, to see him perform his pyro-technical guitar style on stage for the support of this current CD where once again, technology meets with Mr. Vai's Spirit. Don Muccigrosso Jr. Portland, Oregon

5 out of 5 stars Excellent bonus track!.......1999-10-23

If you buy this import cd, it's for the bonus track. This track is amazing, three and a half minutes of pure acustic guitar behind a very improved Vai voice. It's a song dedicated for his mother, titled "Selfless Love", and it's nothing like you ever heard from Vai before.

5 out of 5 stars Oh my God, Vai has taken it up a notch or twenty!.......1999-10-01

Guitar fans must agree that Steve Vai defines technique and skill, so much that it was hard to immagine a higher level. With The Ultra Zone, Vai has accomplished the seemed impossible--taken the world of guitar technique, creativity and thus, virtuosity beyond our solar system. From the opening lineof the opening tune, Blood & Tears, the table is set for a feast of visceral rhythms, complex melodies, and solos loaded with improvisations that travel at the speed of light. It is possible to wonder how one could have ever existed without the emotional affect gathered from tunes such as The Ultra Zone, Jibboom, or Windows to the Soul. This CD is one that will never grow old.

    5 out of 5 stars A composers guitar haven...breathless........1999-09-17

If you are of the faint of heart, or find Britney Spears music to be too complicated, you are out of luck with this one. If you enjoy well arranged and beatuifully composed and performed guitar music... This is the one! As always Steve Vai surprises with every note he squeezes out of his instrument. The album covers the absurd and comical, as well as the deep and philosohical, mixing the styles of "Flex-able" and "Passion and Warfare" with some new, eastern twists. He will take you on a journey you have never been before, and rock you with "jibboom" and "the ultra zone", and bring you to spiritual heights with "windows to the soul". Don't expect this to be like anything else he has ever done, but it's still pure Steve.
