Great Cd! I love your band. You have an awesome sound. Have seen you in concert and you are even better live. My favorite songs are Bringin Me Down, Living By the Sword, and Arrival. I would definitly suggest purchasing this cd for any rock lover you know. Keep on rocking guys. Hope to see you in the big spot light soon.

Great Band With An Awesome Sound.......2002-01-20

Lost Angel is one of those unheard bands who deserve more support for their music. This band has a sound all their own and that is important in a time when most music begins to sound the same. They have their own sound that is refreshing to hear. If you like a harder edge sound to your music then Lost Angel is a must have for your CD collection. I would have to say that this is one of the best bands that you have never heard. I highly recomend this band to everyone.

Album Description

Calling their sound "new directions in beats, jazz and exotica", Novabeats Sound System drops some serious new beats come from legendary beatmaster John Lehmkuhl, the "Skippy" behind the "Skippy's Big Bad Beats" drum loop CD, used on countless music projects all over the world. New directions in jazz run throughout the record, most notably the Jaco-like track from MJ Project. And new directions in exotica come from Kathie Talbot's Latin fantasies and Cavestar's homage to Les Baxter, simply called "Baxter".

Other new directions include the use of Koi Howard's flowing operatic vocals on "En Priere", Constant Flux's unique approach to IDM, Mr. Soon's desert landscapes, Surface 10's downtempo abstractions and the work of The Mighty One that simply fits no category. The most radio-ready track on the CD is definitely Swirl's "Together Forever", a fabulous vocal track featuring Lili Hadyn and Kevin Lincoln over the production work of The Mighty One.

Innovative atmospheric harmonies, textures and downtempo beats that ghostly mirror the desert landscapes of Arizona.

Each track is named after some amazing places in Arizona. "Arcosanti" is an experiment city that exists in center of Arizona. "Highway 2" is some of the most remote two lane road in America, leading to "Second Mesa", the ancestral home of the Hopi Indians. "Gila Bend" is an town barely bigger than an intersection, and "Echo Canyon" in central Phoenix (pictured on the cover) was at one time a very sacred Native American Indian Community, where the artist's childhood home is. The disc's arrangement is such that the record feels like an audio road trip through this widely diverse landscape that the Hopis regard as the spiritual center of North America.

A Profound Journey That Repeat Buttons Were Made For.......2004-02-04

Out of my CD/LP collection numbering approximately 500, there are less than 10 I enjoy listening to all the way through. This profoundly beautiful journey of a disc is one of them; easily in my top 5 favorites of all time. Mr. Soon simultaneously creates senses both of vast space and intimacy. The CD is filled with absolutely gorgeous harmonies. Many of the tracks melt into one another, creating additional harmonies and/or effects during the transition, sometimes bordering psychedelic. Many tracks have spacy-sounding synths juxtaposed with more natural sounding, very rhythmic, percussion. Most of the tracks are great on their own. But the sequence of them makes each more enjoyable. Another person called this CD a "Southwestern Road Trip." I add to that, "with the top down under a very clear and starlit sky." After listening to this CD, I feel mentally like I have just taken a relaxing vacation.

This is a great treat of a listen any time of day, but it rewards the listener well for paying attention and listening in complete darkness with no distractions. If you're a fan of Ambient music, this is undoubtedly an essential must-have. If you're not, you might be after giving this CD a chance. Either way, I give it my highest recommendation. In fact, having thought about this CD in writing this review, I'm craving yet another listen and it hasn't even been 12 hours since my last!

Splendid!.......2003-03-12

This is a very relaxing ambient recording, and like the previous reviewer indicated, it is wonderful for meditation. There is a certain "spiritual" sense with tones that seem to "float" in the air and evolve. For me the feeling is evocative of some relaxing, far-off place.

There is a good variety of material here also. Synth textures are spacious and deep, and the rhythms are interesting. Clearly a good deal of time went into creating this music.

My only (minor) complaint is that the drums on one or two tracks sound a tiny bit distorted (perhaps the mixing engineer added a bit too much bass emphasis?), but this could be an artifact of my (well) "inexpensive" audio reproduction system.

There is also some awesome Arizona photography on the CD jacket. Altogether a treat for the ears and eyes.

Very Different. Very relaxing and gentle ambient, electronic music.
Its nice to hear something so different and melo.
The beats are nice and laid back. I really dig the beatless tracks on the disk. Great for meditation and relaxation.

Album Description

This record is a two track recording of a live performance, with Goetsch manning synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines, while Collins attacks his own synthesizer as well as a sampler and turntable that are used not for beats, but for layers of processed spoken word and sound effects that ride atop the tightly knit grooves the two have written together (no drum loops were used). The result is a dense Robert Rauschenberg-like sound collage, with no single part as the focus, a constantly evolving biomechanical brew.

Live Jungle Bizness!.......2002-10-15

I picked this up in San Antonio, Texas. The first impression that I got was "WOW! I CAN'T BEIEVE THE BASS", the reason is that a whole lot of vintage gear was used during the production [list is included on CD card]. The tracks are well made and flow on a wide spectrum of Jungle/Drum and Bass, they range from atmospheric/jazzy all the way up to some nice mash-ups and a lot of samples/scratching courtesy of DJ Luke. It is a very well recorded live session, and I give it a high recommendation for everyone into jungle or some smooth relaxed toons.
