Customer Reviews:
Great CD From An Underrated Band.......2004-05-27
A strong debut from a great Chicago-based metal band. The production and mix doesn't do the band justice, as the songs were always much more powerful live than captured here, my only reason for not giving this 5 stars. That shouldn't detract from acquiring this CD though, as it's filled with powerful '80s-style metal (think Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden).
Fear Of The Dark and Escape Or Die are highlight tracks. The 4 bonus tracks aren't filler either, as they all cut have made the cut on the original vinyl release and are as good or better than other tracks on the CD.
Hard Hitting.......2004-05-27
A fine CD from an under appreciated band. Production and mixing are lacking, but the songs are great.
Marred only slightly by muddy production but still a classic.......2003-11-15
This really deserves 5 stars but the production is kinda muddy, so it's more of a 4 1/2. Don't get me wrong I can handle bad production being a fan of alot of BM bands. The only problem is that one thing kicks in it drowns out the rest of it almost ex: Whenever the vocalist starts to sing it buries the other instruments and vice versa sometimes. That's really the only complaint I have for this album. Anyways, on to the music, it's very well played speed metal and the vocalist is reminiscent of of a lower pitched King Diamond and most of the other NWOBHM singers. If you're a fan of Mercyful Fate, Angel Witch, Iron Maiden, Grim Reaper, etc. then pick this up.
