Crank Up The Orange Amps And Release.......2006-01-13
Impressive debut from stoney space Oregonian doomers YOB. Three floating-through-space aural mammoths clocking in just under an hour. Gargantuan, bluesy Sabbath riffs plod along for aeons a la cult-heavy Sleep.
fresh doom!!!.......2004-07-18
these three dudes from oregon really know how to lay down the law. their future should be bright as this is a definite step forward from their fantastic debut album, elaborations of carbon. with three epic 25 minute songs you can't go wrong here. this is a sure bet for any sleep or burning witch fan. good pick up if you are new to the doom/stonerock genre, also something any general rock (sabbath, led, tool, iron maiden) fan should really give a listen to (you think probot is heavy?!) open your ears to this eugene trio.....
Brilliant..........2004-04-14
An amazing band to say the least. This gifted threesome (hehe!) has put out one of the most original sonic offerings in the expiri-metal world; their sound is like nothing you've ever heard. Drunk on "phaser" pedals (circa 1973) and playing knee-bendingly heavy riffs that build up to completely demolishing crecsendos, changing to BOSS heavy-metal pedals and INSANELY-LOW death growls. However, their use of death roars only once in a-long-while makes the music sound so powerful it could even make scrawny unpopular white people like us flex a muscle (what do you mean you're not scrawny? I can see your arms right there... oh my, their big... and smooth) . The best way to explain these guys accurately is, "Pink Floyd meets The Melvins at a Cannibal Corpse show". Incredible progressive heaviness that no self-respecting music listener should be without. Buy it!
...Actually, buy two
Just three songs, but fifty minutes long? Wow!.......2003-11-12
It would just be insulting to describe this album as a "mixture of" (i.e. Black Sabbath, High on Fire, with a touch of Air Supply featuring the cast of "Friends") No! These guys are actually unique! I first them live just over a year ago and they completely blew me away. Mike's superbly versatile vocals and low-toned guitars + Isamu's bassey thumb-jumps and Travis'...well, he's a fine drummer, altogether they do a fantastic delivery of what is one of the latest additions to the underground stoner-metal circuit. Though their title track clocks in at a whopping 23:35, it is by no means boring or repetitious. I recommend this and their first album (check their website/sites)to anyone who enjoys medium to slower-paced hard-rock/metal with cryptic melodies and occasional thrashing.

Album Description
"If you take time to listen to it as a whole piece, in one sitting, you will realise the majesty and grandeur, the feel and atmosphere, the playing and composing talent - in fact the very heart and soul - of a master musician at work. The opening track is one of the finest of her career to date, as the scene is set with glorious synths and textures flying all around, making you believe that there's a real group at work and not just one person, the clarity of sound and production, as on the other album, being second to none. "Absolution" is one of the most gorgeous such compositions you'll hear ... The rest of the album is both multi-layered, cohesive and consistent ...a sit-down, serious-listening affair, a voyage through space and time that's as good as it gets." -Andy Garibaldi - CD Services
"Attunement begins with the atmospheric "Bringing Down the Silence," a massive exhale, a cosmic benediction, and (with Connie's total-depth-vocals) a bodily engagement. "Strings of My Heart" is pure loveliness, a rhapsodic melody for harp and strings. "Out of the Mist" features a solo flute with drone, that later huffs up to a huge bagpipe band with bass drums, all echoing through the valleys of the mind, banging boldly on the heart. Very ennobling! The pivot of the album is "Fathoms," which features Connie playing the ten-foot sonic steel sculpture, which sounds like the roar of the universe. You will probably not hear such an all-encompassing sound work you over, ream you out, and massage every neuron. Once worn down, there's no escaping "Deep Mother" who works her raw sensuality and midwife-compassion through goddess-Connie's voice. The primordial vibes continue through the lizardy-firebreathing sounds of "Gabriel's Dragon." "Absolution," with its lead organ sound, is one of the most gorgeous such compositions you'll hear ... blissful music that would somehow strike a chord in your heart, something that stays with you and is re-awakened here. Attunement continues with symphonic stews of somber longing, glistening gleams of redemption, and triumphant clarion bells." -CWright and -Andy Garibaldi
Customer Reviews:
Two worlds of music.......2004-06-26
First I would like to say that I greatly admire Constance Demby's talent. However, if you are interested in buying her CDs, be aware that her music falls into two vastly different worlds. Novus Magnificat, Set Free, Aeterna, and Sanctum Sanctuorum are rich in harmony and very uplifting. Attunement, Spirit Trance, and Sacred Space Music are atonal and reminiscent of a waking nightmare. Unfortunately Amazon.com does not make much of her music available for listening so it is difficult for someone new to her music to be aware that the mood of her work varies greatly. I would love to have her compose more music along the lines of Set Free and Novus Magnificat.

Attunement....Demby's spontaneous "Masterpiece".......2001-11-22
Attunement is a true miracle... a live performance captured with a minumum of engineering and recorded in vivid, spectacular sound. Those expecting another Novus Magnificat or Aeterna need to open their ears to other vistas they may never have suspected existed. But in the lens of Demby's all-encompassing Camera Obscura, Attunement ranges from the raw, sensual cries of the Demby Earth Mother to the Bachian passages of organ and chorus. The textures are constantly changing, like the colors and fragrances of a secret garden. You round another corner and are greeted with an even more beautiful blossom than before....such is the power of Attunement. This CD demands careful listening and will ultimately prove to be Demby's masterpiece of spontaneous composition (spontaneous combustion??...it does smoke at times...the fire from the earth's inner core) A stunning CD that deserves the widest possible exposure!!

from -Alan Clancy, healer
"Heads don't roll - they open - in a Demby concert. Her concerts have a profound affect on me, not only for the beauty of the music, but for what remains in consciousness; it creates a temple of spirit like no other has ever done, pushing you beyond your capability to receive. You relax, reflect, twist to open, resist, then go. This procedure is more like an internal workout. The more you put into it the more it gives you. No other artist can reach this depth. I suggest you prepare beforehand your intention to change. You will be met. This is serious work. Your old spirit will unravel for days. Take the journey. It will be "the sound of your life!"
from - Mark Krueger, metaphysical astrologer
"This was not just a concert. It was an opportunity to ground the music of the spheres into planet Earth and the body Human. For on these concert dates, Dec 17-18, the Sun was at the center of our galaxy, a portal to Source. As Constance grounded the new vibrations through her music, we became the listening instrument for the collective body, the sympathetic strings of the Mother's Heart."
from - Dr. Baune, D.C., D.A.C.N.B.
"I am a physician and healer and, during the December concert, I literally watched myself facilitate a non-local healing of a young patient of mine who has deep seated emotional abuse issues. I had no intent to do this before the concert began. The music opened an intuitive part of me that knew where to go and what to do, and took me to the space where it all happened. Several days later, the patient had noticed a profound shift since that night. It expanded the forum of healing possibilities that I can now use. , and Constance's music is something you don't just hear or listen to, you experience it at the deepest level of your being. The harmonic vibrations that she brings forth are a profound gift to this planete."
from - - Cris Beaty, healer and counseler
"Experiencing Connie's Salon Concerts is being in a temple of profound effect and lasting meaning. For me - my body deeply relaxed, mind freed, emotions bubbled, light DNA activated, purpose reclarified, soul touched, chakas opened."
from - Scott, musician
" I sat down in the back yard to listen, and as I was enjoying
"Absolution," my favorite piece with the big organ, the wild peacocks that hang around my area came up to the back fence and stood there transfixed --all of us listening to this incredible music together under the light of the full moon. The peacocks finally left, but only after the album had finished playing."
from - - Viki King, consultant and author "I observed during the concert that Constance Demby's soundings have the capacity to awaken the higher strands of DNA in our bodies."
from - "Journeys to the Infinite"(FUN Radio Romania)
"I think Constance's work has never been better than on ATTUNEMENT"." This concert is from the other side of the Universe! ATTUNEMENT has all the qualities of a spiritual initiation"."I feel something unexplainable in my body and mind listening to this album. It's a sort of exorcism through music".
"The sound of the Space Bass scares me with his other-worldy beauty".
Excelente.......2001-10-25
Es una aproximación al trabajo inicial de Demby. Para quienes la conocen, comparada con Bach, es un disco imprescindible como una aproximación a sus fases iniciales, y de manera sorprendente con un calidad inigualable desde el principio

endpoint...........what can i say.......2005-05-23
Well it was the summer of 1991, I walk through the smoke filled front room of a small club called "The Machine". I pushed my way through a dense crowd to the front up against the waist high stage. As the first cord of "Final Stand" hits I was trapped, the music captures me in a way that my life changed forever. Over the next few years living in Louisville and seeing them play dozens of times I came to know Rob and Duncan. This I have always believed was their best recording and I think they think so also. After their last show in the December of 1993 I was very sad to know I would not get to see them play these songs again, but at least I will always have this record. Thanks Rob and Duncan for the emotion and memories.

Customer Reviews:
Touches my soul.......2003-02-02
I "discovered" Malcolm Watson at an art show in Michigan. It was the end of the day, and suddenly we heard this wonderful violin music. My 6 year old son and I went over, and watched this odd man in a white tuxedo dance under the roof of a gazebo...bare foot. He seemed to be completely in love with his work. We purchased the Catharsis CD. This CD makes me want to learn the violin, just so I can come home after a rough day and experience the release that must occur when one coaxes such beautiful music from a man made instrument. Hell, I want to learn how to make the instrument that makes this music. It has that kind of an effect on me. If I could choose the theme song for the story of my life, it would be number 11, "Autumn". Highly recommended!

A Journey on the Rivers of your Mind.......2001-10-09
I had the unexpected pleasure of first hearing Watson as he preformed on Pearl Street in Boulder, CO. Watson was dressed in a light colored suit and danced barefoot as he played on the street in the shadows of the Flat Irons on an Indian summer Sunday afternoon. His light steps kept perfect rhythm with his bow. I highly recommend this CD if you want to enjoy being consumed by music that will take you on a journey you have never been on before; and will not want it to end.

Savor the Range.......2001-07-27
This recording illustrates the widest selection range presented by the duo-all played with an emphasis on arousing strong emotion. The quality of Malcolm Watson's training is evident in the confidence of his technique. Darren Skanson is a worthy match. This duo generates a lot of music from two instruments. The listener will play it many times and remain engaged by the flow of each piece into the other, yet all representing different types of music. A recording to enjoy in many settings and one which will be played many, many times.
Music with emotion!.......2001-02-07
This is not the classical music you learned about in grade school, this is music with emotion, feeling and soul! This is music from somone who feels every note they play. Regardless of what genre of music you like, I think this is a must have for any music collection. I gave this only 4 stars because, the studio recording just can not capture the energy they bring to their live shows.

Album Description
Incredibly emotional and impacting lyrics, crystal clear as well as slightly processed vocals, pounding melodies, melancholic overtures, and addictive song structures with inescapable pop sensibilities create the backbone of Lost Signal - key traits that immediately place this project at the forefront of leading electronically based music for club audiences and home listeners alike.
Produced by Tom Shear of Assemblage 23
Customer Reviews:
better than average new-school EBM/elektro.......2004-06-27
This young 1-man project is very much in the same spirit as Assemblage 23 (ironically A23's mastermind Tom Shear helped produce it), only with more midrange vocals and the occasional vocal harmonies. It gets a little same-sounding around the middle of the CD, but gets a second wind on the last few tracks. Dark melodies, solid dance tracks, and a decent overall mix. Look out for this group.

Customer Reviews:
I was as well.......2005-05-23
The person that wrote the bad review, never saw them play. I saw every show they played from 1990 until the last show in 1993 at the Thunderdome. This band and the members (especially Rob and Duncan) changed my life. They were and still are great musicians, and I believe this to be their best recording.
Sounds like someone has something personal to talk about.......2005-02-26
The above review, although seemingly wanting to discuss the quality of music on this record, seems to be nothing more than a personal attack on the record. The proof of this is the long list of local bands that follow his criticism. Granted the recording value of the record leaves something to be desired, but the producer of the record was in Kinghorse and Solution Unkown. Say what you will but Endpoint was a band that brought attention to Louisville and a band that actually cared about the topics they discussed. If the music was so bad, it's amazing that the band did so well.
really lame.......1998-08-28
This represents everything bad about punk rock. The vocals are horrible, the musicianship is slightly worse then pedestrian, and the lyrics are psuedo-liberal garbage that address all the "pain" that these well-off kids from Louisville were going through. There are some great bands from the Louisville punk scene...Kinghorse, Squirrel Bait, Solution Unknown. Endpoint is not one of them, and this record is recorder proof of that. Very, very overrated stuff.
