4 out of 5 stars Solid Ball of Rock.......2006-07-27

Danger of Infection was the debut album by British hard rockers Dirty Deeds. The band, which featured former Chariot mainman Pete Franklin on vocals and guitar, plays straightforward hard rock. If Chariot was post-NWOBHM, perhaps Dirty Deeds counts as post-post-NWOBHM? It's somewhat melodic, but doesn't stray into Ten/Lost Weekend AOR territory. It's heavy, but it doesn't quite reach Saxon/Iron Maiden metal territory either. It's melodic hard rock, but with the band's NWOBHM roots, the emphasis is definitely on the ROCK part! The closest comparison I can think of is the David Glen Eisley band Stream. The strong midrange vocals on this album bring to mind bands like Nightingale or Vanishing Point, though the music is obviously not as progressive as those bands' efforts.

Overall, Danger of Infection is a better than average hard rock album that fans of Chariot in particular will want to check out. The band released one other album - Real World - before calling it quits.

5 out of 5 stars Yes! Classic Up the the Minute Metal Is Back!.......2000-01-22

Definitely going back to the '80's. Hard driving Heavy Metal. It's amazing something like this emerges with the so called music of today. The Metal scene is in dire need for driving music. The writing on this disc is outstanding, some of the highlights are songs like 'Nothing to Lose' which is powerful, 'Too Scared too Run' this is just in your face, and 'Promised Land' I think this is a disc that all that listen to this vein of music should add to their catalogue. Rock on, bring this back"
