5 out of 5 stars Music to sit by the pool to........2006-02-03

This music is the kind of stuff that you grab a beer, sit back, and take it easy on a summer afternoon. It rocks all through the disc, and the bass player is one of the best of all time! Grab this CD before it is too hard to get, you wont regret it.

5 out of 5 stars The Deaf Gods Are Back.......2005-06-01

Deaf Gods of Babylon is the first of what is now four Lord Tracy albums (or CD's as they're called these days) and contains an assortment of songs ranging in style from arena power ballads (Chosen Ones, Foolish Love) to speed metal and thrash (Pirahna) to rap (3HC) to straight ahead, in your face rock and roll (Out With the Boys, East Coast Rose, and Submission). Produced expertly by Mark Dodson, Deaf Gods of Babylon accurately captures the energy and attitude of the band without the added layers of slick manufactured gloss that made so many of the 80's "hair band" releases sound so formula and predictable. In fact, the album is anything but predictable and will catch you off guard with humor and excitement as you move your way through it. Sadly however, following its 1989 release on the MCA label "UNI Records" it never got the promo and support it needed (UNI folded shortly thereafter) and the stress of trying to carry the entire weight themselves led to the band fracturing apart while touring in early 1991.

Fast forward to 2004. After burying all the old hatchets (and much to the delight of an extremely dedicated fan base) Lord Tracy reforms with all four original members and over the course of the next year releases three new CD's.

The first, "LIVE", was recorded at The Basement in Dallas, Texas in December of 1989 and contains most of the songs from the Deaf Gods of Babylon album. Fans of the old Z-Rock radio network may remember this as it was broadcast nationwide as part of the Coast to Coast Concert Series.

The second of the new releases, "Cull None", contains a mix of songs ranging from stuff on their 1986 demo "Moo Over" to oddities, outtakes and outright derangements captured during the Deaf Gods recording sessions. Cull None would have been a fan club only release in the middle of 1990 had UNI Records survived.

The third and finest of the new releases is simply entitled "Lord Tracy 4" and contains much of what would have been on their formal second album. Like Deaf Gods of Babylon, Lord Tracy 4 shows an incredible range of musical abilities.

All of the Lord Tracy albums, and especially Deaf Gods of Babylon, are thoroughly enjoyable and well worth owning if you can find a copy.

5 out of 5 stars heavy raunch-n-roll texas style...........2005-04-09

i first heard lord tracy as a deejay for an east texas rock station back in 1989. when i heard the whole cd, def godz of babylon, i likenend it to a southern fried texas version of david lee roth era van halen--lots of great guitar and very tongue in cheek sexual inuendo. these guys were just fun to listen to, and they really, REALLY rocked!!!this cd is a must have for the sheer music alone, and, for pantera fans, you will notice that lead singer and guitarist, terrence lee glaze, was the original lead singer for the texas quartet before phil anselmo joined the band. this cd is worth whatever you have to pay for it in any condition. defineitely check it out. the good news?, after a decade long hiatus, lord tracy is back with a vengeance and performing live. they also have new music for purchase from the band at their website. lord tracy will make the pubic hair on your nuts stand up, so get a copy and enjoy the show--raoul duke

4 out of 5 stars This CD rocks and is funny as hell in places!.......2005-03-05

I am not sure how i got this cd but i love it.

Chosen Ones & Foolish Love are similar to other 80's power ballads

3HC is as funny as AC/DC's Big Balls

Shes a bitch is a perfect song if your ex wife (like mine) is a real big bitch. The chorus consists of the men in the band shouting Shes A Bitch.

East Coast rose is decent as is Out With The Boys.

All in all a solid effort. I wish they had done a follow up so they had a second chance to get big
