Conceptual political satire .......2005-03-04

This album is a bit of a surprise, if you are expecting music from beginning to end. The premise is a series of eulogies for a german who died in 1972, as one of the richest men in the world. The eulogies are all in german, by the way. The title means VULTURE SYMPHONY in english, and the vulture is the wealthy man, who made a lot of money with the Nazis. The CD's structure has some purely musical sections, but not many. Other parts have music under the eulogies, and sometimes, it's just spoken word. On other Krautrock from this era, spoken word is layered on top of constant musical accompliment, like Sergius Golowin's album LORD KRISHNA. For me, the lack of constant music under the spoken word hurts this peice. If you understand German, have a taste for political satire, and have avant guarde musical tastes, you might like this. But if you want a CD filled with music, and sung melodies, song structures, etc, then don't bother with this. Try Wegmuller's TAROT instead, or anything by Cosmic Jokers. I will give the GeyerSymphonie this: great Album Cover.
